[list][*]In contrast to yesterday, most of the sanctioned alliances did very well today - led by the ever-reliable [color=#48D1CC][b]Mostly Harmless Alliance[/b][/color], who gained a fifth of a point. [color=black][b]Sparta[/b][/color] had a good day also, gaining a sixth of a point to creep ever-closer to the [color=orange][b]Independent Republic of Orange Nations[/b][/color] - that lead's now at a third-of-a-point.
[*]I just about skipped over the [color=orange][b]Orange Defense Network[/b][/color]'s biggest gainer title. Thank you, automatic formatter. :P They did amazingly well to gain more than two-fifths of a point, but they're still a tiny dot in the [color=blue][i]World Task Force[/i][/color]'s rear-view mirror (though at the same time, [color=orange][i]The Order of the Paradox[/i][/color] wouldn't be able to see pre-Subway Jared with a telescope when looking ahead from their own place).
[*]The [color=green][b]Viridian Entente[/b][/color] uses a modest gain to take advantage of an idle day from the [b][color=brown]Global Alliance and Treaty Organization[/color][/b] to move up one place, though their position is far from secure.
[*]It was a bad day for the [color=red][b]New Pacific Order[/b][/color] again today (as we'll see for the next 11 days as well, I expect), as they lose more than half a point and move down one place in the rankings. They will almost certainly drop beneath [color=orange][b]RnR[/b][/color] tomorrow, while I wouldn't rule out [color=orange][i]FOK[/i][/color] achieving the same thing.
[*]The [color=maroon][b]Random Insanity Alliance[/b][/color] has a bad day today, dropping a sixth of a point and being passed by the [i][color=#48D1CC]Mushroom Kingdom[/color][/i] - whose loss today was fairly tame, especially in comparison to that of their rival.
[*][color=black][i]Nordreich[/i][/color] takes advantage of an off-day from [color=black]LoSS[/color] to move into 20th place overall, while [color=blue][i]The Foreign Division[/i][/color], [color=blue][i]NATO[/i][/color], the [color=maroon][i]Global Order of Darkness[/i][/color], and even down to the [color=gold][i]Federation of Armed Nations[/i][/color] remain fairly packed together.
[*]Also, a shoutout to the [color=gray][i]Nusantara Elite Warriors[/i][/color] for their gain of a tenthish of a point.
[*]The [color=maroon][i]Commonwealth of Sovereign Nations[/i][/color] has a very bad today day, dropping four nations and a quarter-point to fall largely out of contention with [color=maroon][i]The Templar Knights[/i][/color], even as that alliance dropped a fair chunk of score as well - two results that [color=gray][i]The Order Of Light[/i][/color] will definitely be happy with if they wish to move up in the rankings.
[*]The other end of the spectrum sees [color=purple][i]iFOK[/i][/color] add six nations and a double-digit amount of score, as they recover from a bad day yesterday. They'll definitely provide some pressure from below to the duo of [color=green][i]Legacy[/i][/color] and [color=black][i]Asgaard[/i][/color].[/list]
Also, I've added a projection of the [color=red][b]New Pacific Order[/b][/color]'s score at the end of the war - based on their losses in the ten days since the Overtime Accords were signed, and extrapolated to the end of the three-week limited war. We'll see how much that projection changes over the next week and a half, and whether [color=black]LoSS[/color] can add half a point in score before that time is up.

While I think I see what you're getting at (they'll probably drop lower than what's predicted there), I think their losses will start to taper down after the next couple days, simply because they'll be losing NS from nations that are significantly smaller than when they started, so they'll likely be bleeding from smaller wounds. I still suspect they'll fall lower than what's projected, but not by perhaps as much as one might initially think.

It will be interesting to see how well NPO losses match projections. On one hand we're losing battle support and soon handing off the top tier, where those Pacifican nations won't face such a disadvantage, yet on the other, we still have swarms of high tech strength in the mid-tier.

It'd only be necessary every month or so. But it'd also allow a bunch of new competitions.

No, the timer only started when NPO brought the required nations out of peace mode, which happened 5 days later when Mary posted [url="http://forums.cybernations.net/index.php?showtopic=101667"]this thread.[/url]

The other issue that I'd be concerned with is how to display alliances that are part of multiple blocs. They couldn't be displayed with all of them, or else it would skew the appearance of how popular they actually are.

Most likely, I'd just include them with the most powerful bloc, or perhaps with their first bloc.

Friday the thirteenth wasn't a fun day for scared cats and a couple of alliances either. Mostly due to recruiting, some sources say.

Hmm I'm not sure.. they would be bloc statistics after all so I don't see the problem with alliances in multiple blocs-- they're not being double-counted or anything. Their score would genuinely contribute to two blocs.

Friday the thirteenth wasn't a fun day for scared cats and a couple of alliances either. Mostly due to recruiting, some sources say.

Well, they would be double-counted. Yes, their score would genuinely contribute to two blocs, but not their entire score. It would be like adding the score of a single nation to multiple alliances (something which, ironically enough, happened in the early early days of CN).

I'll probably just split it 50/50 between whatever blocs they're part of.

These are the seven major MDP+ blocs that I know of. Split RnR's score equally between their two blocs. Combined PB/DH and SF/CA because of the massive overlap between each pair.

Also, I was remaking my bloc web the other day, and noted that there's a [i]de facto[/i] bloc between NPO, Legion, NATO, and NADC (all of those are directly connected to each other except for NPO & NADC). The "bloc" score for that grouping is 61.22.
