Whilst the Imperium had no naval vessels to provide the african Lunar people with protection a flight of three maritime C-130s came together and took position over the Legion fleet below. The Legion sailors would easily be able to see the low flying aircraft each of which came with the standard armaments of 25, 40 and 105 mm cannons.

Though it has already been affirmed, Haven gladly supports the creation of the African Lunar Republic. If the nation needs anything we would be happy to provide them with any needs. That is H.E.C. would be willing to sell it to you for low low prices!

To: Legion
The H.E.C. has a lot of funds, we could loan you up to a hundred billion shillings with a .001 interest rate. Heck we'll even give you half free no interest for benefit of the AUP.

"We are incredibly grateful that the AUP has reacted positively to our request. We shall be contacting the Republic immediately."
- Markus Vendt, major of Libreville

_______________

In the Lunar Republic, the response was one of surprise. But these people had the wish to rejoin their motherland, and so it was granted.
A message was sent to the AUP.

"Greetings, ladies and gentlemen.

We of the Lunar Republic are pleasantly surprised that you supported the people of Libreville and surrounding regions' bid to rejoin the Lunar Republic. I suppose this makes the region our largest and most populous one on Earth, as we otherwise only have islands and no continental holdings.
Should it be desireable, we'd thus ask, as newly african nation, concerning Earth territories at least, to join the AUP properly and formally.

With regards"

"If facilities are made available, we may be able to take our navy out of mothballing and bring it back to full strength. Our current possessions allow us to keep only one carrier group active; We'd need facilities for three more."

The AAF (Atlantis Air Force) Is interested in procuring 1,080 F/A-0 Brown Widows. If you would be so kind to accept this contract, please give us a time frame and an estimated cost.

Please downsize my order to 300 Brown Widows
The first 180 Brown Widows would be flown to the AAF posthaste along with a liaison staff of engineers, technicians, maintenance crew chiefs and trainers. Several air simulators built to spec for the Brown Widow would also be gifted.

With our recent acquirement we have a lot of money to throw around, if the Legion needs some funds we'd be willing to loan a few billion at low interest rates. Speaking of our funds, we'd also be interested in buying a few squadrons of Black Widows. And while being jack of all trades is interesting we're also interested in developing an Air superiority fighter for our own use as well as the AUP.
The combined efforts under the AUP to create a shared air dominance aircraft is still ongoing - Haven is encouraged to take part if it wishes.

Twenty four Brown Widows would be sent to Haven.

OOC: Donating my War Memorial Wonder

IC: With the clean up completed on the old space elevator site, Legion wishes for the AUP to consider creating an appropriate memorial to remember those murdered by this act of wanton nuclear terror.

Suggestions anyone?

Further, the Legion Space Administration will shortly be at full operational capacity. Legion proposes that an African Union Space Administration be formed to allow a collaborative effort amongst African nations in the race to space.

There is plenty of room in the old Lunar Republic Space Elevator site for a launch loop and launching pads for more conventional space going platforms.

While this does go against Legion's traditional platform of opposing space exploration as a means of encouraging African Unity, space exploration does increase the proliferation of a variety of specialized technologies for the betterment of all Africa.

To: Aeon
Private

Legion will order a total of 120 of these Brown Widows for the time being. Once Legion has a trained pool of pilots and flight technicians the rest will be ordered.

Payment for these planes is going to be difficult. Further, while Legion has an interest in procuring a modernized fighter we find ourselves needing a long range bomber to support our various missions around Africa.

120 Long Range Bombers are sought as well, and payment is going to be equally difficult, though we do believe funds can be drawn out of various supplementary budgets if squeezed hard enough.

OOC: Ehhh, what the heck. I've lost my Kolfe Monument ever since Addis Ababa got nuked into the Great Scar, might as well donate mine too. I guess that means we can build a bigger and more extravagant monument?

IC: Legions of artisans and craftsmen from the famed Sidamo Province of the Aeon would be shipped west along AUP high-speed rail lines. These were 'not so' starving artists, but were still skilled enough to earn their keep. Nevertheless, should West Africa have enough caramel macchiatos and wheatgrass cakes to go around, this would undoubtedly double their efforts. A supply of these would be sent along in subsequent trains.

Itang Spaceport, still under construction in East Africa, would be commissioned for use by both the African Union Space Administration (AUSA) and the Strategic Command Agency (SCA) of the Principality. The facility would be slated to be a major player in the space race due to the sheer scale envisioned for the project. It would serve as a stepping stone for a lingering African manned presence in space, an extensive network of runways for both the Bestower Ultra Heavy Transport fleets as well as a projected Single-stage to Orbit (SSTO) fleet of aircraft, as well as a mass driver for both manned and unmanned payloads at differing speeds.

Due to the nature of the Legion's activities and African security, 120 Brown Widows would be delivered as test airframes to gauge their performance. As payment for this active testing, the Legion Airforce would recieve the airframes themselves. Legion would be notified of the present Aeon strategic bomber fleet, as well as several ongoing programs slated to replace them in the near future.

A Legion sociologist has been interviewing the Lunar Republic survivors of the nuclear attack on the Space Elevator and has found some fairly interesting developments.

Nearly 97.8 percent of them consider themselves to be native born Africans. Of those 97.8 percent the majority of them still wish to to identify themselves as Lunar Republic citizens.

Legion strong endorses the survivors of the nuclear attack be allowed to form an African Lunar Republic in concert with the remaining holdings of the Lunar Republic islands in Atlantic Ocean.

Such efforts might be seen as a bit too far reaching in the greater scheme of things given the traditional Legion stubbornness in dealing with their own internal affairs. Internal Affairs that are swimming along nicely with the exception of Legion's Military budget being nearly in the red by 200 Billion Dongs. A situation being temporarily resolved by increasing tax revenuses and restructuring the Legion Central Government budget.

A more modest proposal, and far easier to enact, might be helping Legion finance it's military operations. All of which are for the betterment of African Unity, would be seen as more advisable.

A representative of the Lunar survivors of the nuclear attack sent a message to the AUP,
"I, and a great many of the people living within this region have been African for as long as we could think. Yet, just as many have become accustomed to the government of the Lunar Republic, and we do in fact still consider ourselves citizens, despite everything.
As representative of these people, a majority of those living in the former Space Elevator territory, I humbly request permission to petition the Lunar Republic so that we may rejoin them properly."

The inclusion of the Lunar Republic is a monumental achivement to the strength of the AUP at large. Further, we commend the seamless integration its members have afforded to Lunar citizens.

*private*

Secretly, the Nascent Militant Command and SCA would welcome the Lunar inclusion to the AUP most heartily - this addition was predicted to accelerate progress on Project Destiny Ascension in the Atlantic.

OOC: This is canon unless Kevin wants to change his mind about the reroll.

IC: With the architects of destruction seeing their plans and blueprints come to fruition, the Imperium became no more.

It would be up to the strengths and wits of the AUP to move in and restore order to these South African lands - lands whose governance simply buckled under the weight of hidden oppression and progress.

Rest assured, a united Africa would win the day against violence.

Movements

The Aeon would immediately begin funding a disaster relief and interim development program. It would spearhead the bankrolling of an AUP initiative to reclaim the Imperium for the African sphere of influence.

It would attempt to claim a backseat, non-combat role in the efforts, aiding in moving on the supply chain or paying for food and medicine. The Principality was simply too far to enact a physical presence in the torn region, but had much more to give to the beleaguered Imperials. In turn, the Nascent Militant Command found that this collapse would give smaller nations a chance to show their mettle in defending Africa, instead of placing boots on the ground it would help with technical advisement and tactical assessments.

Of course, if greedy or ambitious foreigners attempted to use the Imperium's collapse for their own nefarious deeds, the Principality would bring its full might onto the foe - but this was not an expected outcome.

The PRA is committed to supporting the former Imperium lands and shall begin by allocating funds for financial and humanitarian aid for Imperium citizens. We will also be moving parts of navy allocated for coastal defense to safeguard the Imperium coastlines from possible foreign interventions in African affairs.

Movements:

PRS International, PRS Barracuda, and PRS Glasnost are to be stationed off the coast of the Imperium and are to help facilitate the delivery of aid as the situation develops.

"The Republic will be sending general and medical supplies for the people of the former Imperium. We'll also allocate a fund of some hundred million to fund a crime prevention program and send policing experts to aid the local police chiefs in attaining full efficiency."
