This borders on outright slander. Smith just sadi Hitler thought he was doing good, not that Hitler was a good man in and of itself. This is both pathetic and disgusting.

Interview with the Boxer that lost: ''Yeah, i liked the way he fights but in the end I tried my hardest but I lost. Simple as that''
Newspaper Headline: BOXER BELIEVES HE SHOULD OF WON, AND HATES THE WAY HE FIGHTS

They made up a quote and put it in someone's mouth.
Unless Will Smith actually said "Hitler was a good person", he should not be reported to have said "Hitler was a good person". Putting something in quotation marks as if it is a quote from them, when they did not say it, is libel, pure and simple. I think Smith should sue.

He should, but he shouldnt be f*cked to sue and go through all of that trouble on petty evil money swimmers like them.

I disagree. I think that a big name needs to sue the hell out of people like this to spread the message that YOU DON'T MAKE CRAP UP ABOUT PEOPLE.
There are so many of these tabloids that just flat out make things up about people to sell papers, and I think they need a wakeup call in the form of a swarm of attack lawyers.

We all know that Will Smith didnt say what they said he said, BUT, Will Smith and his Lawyer knows that its a waste of time, since the media are plain evil, simple. And we all know that Will Smith isnt the first innocent person the press have turned around quotes. Many have tried and failed to sue, its a waste of time. But hes probably got the world behind him (except those faggots who never read the news and dont know how much the media lie).

If the media misquoted him and printed it, they're liable for it. He, his lawyer, and above all else the paper knows this. Either they'll print a retraction, or he'll get some easy airtime to show people that wasn't what he meant.
It was stupid to ask a Hitler question, and it was stupid of him to answer it. What bearing could it possibly have?

This is why celebrities are going overseas to sue as American laws are far too pro-corporate in this sort of issue.

There's probably a decent libel charge behind that title. He certainly didn't say "Hitler was a good person."

Fairness Doctrine (or lack thereof) does not make it all right to 'make up whatever' for news. Publishing falsehoods can still get someone nailed for libel if they knowingly publish with intent to defame or with reckless disregard for the truth.
