Personnel Equipment

Future Combat Program:

The Future Combat Program is a collection of 3 separate projects tasked with providing the Hellenic Army armor able to withstand threats in the new age of warfare. While different there are several similarities between the 3 projects.

NBCR and EMP resistant: The new generation of armor is fully immune to NBCR and EMP weapons, this protection is made possible by completely separating the wearer from the environment surround him or her and using materials that do not let hazardous material through it. The Air filter has been tested against all known NBCR threats and proven effective. The internal electronics of the suite are placed in an EMP resistant cage.
Secure networked interface: All suits are fully integrated into the greater ISIS combat system, using satellite uplinks and local area networks information collected by the armor is shared with all other units in the network, likewise the armor can obtain information from other units such as aircraft, armored vehicles and UAVs. Information is filtered remotely to prevent overloading the armor with more information than it can handle. The entire network uses highly encrypted signals which make it almost impossible for hostile forces to hack the network.
Tactical interface: Using the display integrated into the headpiece the soldiers is provided with an extensive but orderly display that shows the information the soldier needs for the area.
Nanofibers: Using the newest in nanotechnology nanofibers are created that will provide greater protection while being considerably less heavy than alternatives. While being effective for combat these nanofibers also contribute to the NBCR protection.
Active camouflage Using the newest in metamaterials all versions have at least some form of active camouflage, with this new form of camouflage the armor adapts to its surrounding making it even harder to notice.
Exoskeleton: To assist the soldier in dealing with the large weight he or she carries around and to improve the effectiveness and stamina of soldiers all armor is equipped with an exoskeleton that can increase the strength up to 50% in the Razor Speed Armor and at least 15% in the Ares Combat Armor.

Ares_Combat_Armor.png

Ares Combat Armor is the first edition of the Future Combat Program, initially used by all soldiers it is still the most used armor, Ares Combat Armor is used by most infantry and commanders. It basically is used where none of the other 2 editions are practical.

Ares Combat Armor is a hybrid, it features medium active camouflage and an exoskeleton to assist the soldier in carrying weapons and munitions at reasonable speed.

Razor_Speed_Armor.png

Razor Speed Armor is the most recent piece to roll out of the FCP, specifically designed for snipers, special forces and imperial guards the armor lacks the heavier parts of the armor while still providing reasonable protection through nanofibers and less heavy metals. Due to the decreased weight of the armor itself and an even better exoskeleton the soldier wearing the Razor will increase the speed of the soldier and allow it to run longer. It is equipped with the most advanced in active camouflage to make the wearer practically invisible at a long range and very hard to see once close.

SPARTAN_Heavy_Infantry_Armor.png

SPARTAN Heavy Infantry Armor is the most expensive part of the FCP, using a large amount of nanofibers and conventional protection the armor is used only by Heavy Infantry for shorter battles where decisive firepower and protection is needed. Due to the lack of need the SPARTAN barely has any active camouflage.

Like with other systems the link is established through secured satellite uplinks and a secured local area network.
Weapons:
-Smoothbore 120mm HDRM ETC Cannon x 1
-Computer or manually operated .50 cal heavy machine gun x 2
-Automated 40mm Grenade Launcher x 2
Defenses:

Being part of the newest generation and after having learned lessons from the FCG it became clear that the future of warfare was with electronic warfare and attacks onf the sensitive areas of the vehicle. To combat most projectiles the M1 has a combination of ceramic composite reactive and electric armor, under-carriage for protection against shaped charges and an anti-rpg cage. These measures as a last resort seek to first fry the circuits of projectiles and secondly protect the vehicle itself against the impact of projectiles.

More active defenses exist in the combination of an EW suite and active defense systems that seeks to prevent a lock and disable guided projectiles from a distance, when linked with the ISIS system a combination of vehicles attempt to take down threats once they are in range. This greater networked combat system allows each vehicle to detect threats from a much greater distance which increases the likelihood of defenses taking down threats.

The Cerberus enjoys full protection against NBCR threats, in addition using the newest in computer technology the protection against electronic threats has increased.

Sensor systems: While the M1 Cerberus already receives almost all needed information from the ISIS network at large it is equipped with an extensive suite of sensor systems, primarily to add information to the ISIS network and secondly should for whatever reason the ISIS network not function the vehicle will still be able to be aware of the area. The main sensor system is an integrated radar suite to track most air and ground threats in the area, EIR scopes have also been integrated into the system for thermal imaging.

Finally the M1 Cerberus is equipped with UAVs that enhance situational awareness throughout the unit of action.

Future Combat Program

Just like with personnel a future combat program has set up a new series of different vehicles working together. All subsystems are linked together and to all other units within the Hellenic Forces.

M1201.jpg

M1201 Reconnaissance and Surveillance Vehicle

The primary purpose of the M1201 is to obtain the intelligence needed for the remaining forces, for this objective it has a dedicated sensor suite to detect, locate, track, classify and automatically identify targets. Intelligence gathered is transferred to other units within the network and the central interface. In addition it has both unattended ground sensors and UAVs to increase the intelligence gathered. To defend itself it has both a MK44 cannon and 7.62mm M240 machine gun. The M1201 sees use as a scout and at the Athenian borders.

M1202.jpg

M1202 Mounted Combat System

The M1202 is the only tank that came out of the FCP, to make it more easy to deploy the tank is relatively light with limited weapons.
The Mounted Combat System (MCS) was to provide both direct and Beyond-Line-of-Sight (BLOS) offensive firepower capability, and allowed for in-depth destruction of point targets up to 8 km (5 mi) away. This required the use of an integrated sensor network to detect enemy forces.

The MCS has a crew of two and is armed with a 120 mm HDRM ETC main gun, a .50 caliber machine gun, and a 40 mm automatic grenade launcher.

The MCS is intended to deliver precision fire at a rapid rate, in order to destroy multiple targets at standoff ranges quickly, and will complement the other systems in the unit of action. It will be capable of providing direct support to the dismounted infantry in an assault, defeating bunkers, and breaching walls during tactical assaults. It is also highly mobile, in order to maneuver out of contact and into positions of advantage; given the vehicle's light weight, this is especially important.

The common MGV chassis provides full protection from 30 mm and 45 mm cannon fire in a 60 degree arc opening towards the front of the vehicle. 360 degree protection from small arms fire up to 14.5 mm heavy machine gun and 155 mm artillery shell air-bursts. Protection from higher caliber rounds as well as anti-tank guided missiles is provided by an active protection system manufactured known as "Quick Kill".

M1203.png

M1203 Non-Line-of-Sight Cannon

The M1203 Non-Line-of-Sight Cannon (NLOS Cannon) is a mobile 155 mm cannon intended to provide improved responsiveness and lethality to the "unit of action" (UA) commander. This self-propelled armored artillery piece provides networked, extended-range targeting, and precision attack of point and area targets in support of other combat units with a suite of munitions that include special purpose capabilities. The Non-Line-of-Sight Cannon provides sustained fire for close support and destructive fire for tactical standoff engagement.

M1204.jpg

M1204 Non-Line-of-Sight Mortar

The M1204 Non-Line-of-Sight Mortar (NLOS-M) is a turreted, self-propelled mortar vehicle with a four person crew. It is capable of firing at targets outside of the crew's line of sight.
The NLOS-M has a breech-loaded M1064 that fires 120 mm mortar munitions including the Precision Guided Mortar Munition (PGMM). It has a fully automated firing control system and a manually-assisted, semi-automated ammunition loading system. It uses a crew of 3.
The NLOS-M provides fires on-demand to engage complex and simultaneous target sets. As part of an NLOS-M battery, individual NLOS-M vehicles will provide precision-guided rounds to destroy high-value targets, protective fires to suppress and obscure the enemy, and illumination fires. All of these will be in close support of infantry maneuver units.
The ISIS network enables the NLOS-M fire control system to conduct semi- to autonomous computation of technical fire direction, automatic gun lay, preparation of the ammunition for firing, and mortar round firing.

M1205.jpg

M1205 Field Recovery and Maintenance Vehicle

The M1205 Field Recovery and Maintenance Vehicle (FRMV) is the recovery and maintenance system for employment within both the unit of action (UA) and unit of employment (UE) and contributes to sustaining and generating combat power to the Future Force structure. Each UA has a small number of 2-3 man combat repair teams within the organic Forward Support Battalion (FSB) to perform field maintenance requirements beyond the capabilities of the crew chief/crew, more in-depth battle damage assessment repair (BDAR), and limited recovery operations. The recovery vehicle is designed to hold a crew of three with additional space for three additional recovered crew. The FRMV has a close combat support weapon (CCSW) and a 40 mm Mk 19 grenade launcher.

M1206.jpg

M1206 Infantry Carrier Vehicle

The M1206 Infantry Carrier Vehicle (ICV) is a vehicle for transporting and supporting ground troops. The ICV features a crew of 2 and space for 9 passengers. It is armed with a 30 mm MK44 cannon and a 7.62 mm machine gun.

M1207-1208.jpg

M1207/8 Medical Vehicle

The M1207/8 Medical Vehicle is designed to provide advanced trauma life support within 1 hour to critically injured soldiers. The Medical Vehicle serves as the primary medical system within the unit of action (UA) and has two mission modules: Evacuation and Treatment. The time-sensitive nature of treating critically injured soldiers requires an immediately responsive force health protection system with an expedient field evacuation system. The M1207 FCS Medical Vehicle-Evacuation (MV-E) vehicle allows trauma specialists, maneuvering with combat forces, to be closer to the casualty’s point-of-injury and is used for casualty evacuation. The M1208 Medical Vehicle-Treatment (MV-T) vehicle enhances the ability to provide Advanced Trauma Management (ATM)/Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS) treatments and procedures forward for more rapid casualty interventions and clearance of the battlespace.

M1209.png

M1209 Command and Control Vehicle

The M1209 Command and Control Vehicle (C2V) provides for information management of the integrated network of communications and sensor capability within the unit of action and provides the tools for commanders to synchronize their knowledge of combat power with the human dimension of leadership. It is located within the headquarters sections at each echelon of the unit of action down to the company level, and with the integrated command, control, communications, computers, intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance (C4ISR) suite of equipment, it provides commanders command and control on the move.

The C2Vs contain all the interfaces required to enable the commander to leverage the power of the ISIS network and provides the means for leaders at all levels to achieve information superiority and situational understanding and to establish, maintain and distribute a common operating picture fused from the friendly, enemy, civilian, weather and terrain situations while on the move. The crew uses its integrated C4ISR suite (communication, computers and sensor systems) to receive, analyze and transmit tactical information via voice, video and data inside and outside the unit of action. The C2V can also employ unmanned systems, such as unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) to enhance situational awareness throughout the unit of action.

Total Fighters: 960
Total Bombers: 300

Developed and Produced by the Athenian Federation:

F-99.jpg
F-99 Phoenix
Classified Design

Role: Sixth generation stealth multi-role fighter
Manufacturer: Hellenic Aerospace Industry, Airbus Military, Iberian Aerospace and Alenia Aermacchi
Maximum speed: Mach 2.5
Supercruise: Mach 2
Combat Radius: 900 nmi(Standard combat mission with full fuel and maximum weapons)
Ferry Range: 2200 nmi(With full fuel and maximum payload)
Weapons:
-Solid State Chemical Energy Laser - 1
-High-Power Microwave Directed-Energy Weapon - 1
-25mm HDRM ETC cannon - 1
-Internal Missile Hardpoint - 6

General:
The F-99 is a sixth generation stealth fighter borrowing features heavily from its big brother. The F-99 is intended as a light-weight supplement to existing 6th generation fighters and certainly not as a replacement. It can be launched from the carriers currently used by the Hellenic Navy.

Avionics:
The F-99 has eliminated the need for old wires taking in unnecessary space and weight, instead it uses a system based on photonics. With the need for wires eliminated and the data rate increasing exponentially the fighter can process more information faster. In addition the system will enjoy greater protection against cyber attacks while being resistant against spoofing and jamming.

While not being able to run autonomously the greater storage capacity and processing power allows the fighter to make choices such as what targets to hit, whether to incapacitate, damage or destroy selected targets and select which information the pilot needs to have. Finally the avionics of the Phoenix will be networked through a secure connection to the greater battlespace and as such becoming a full part of the future combat programs.

Sensors:
Contrary to more conventional fighters which have radar systems in the nose of the fighter the F-99 uses a combination of microelectronics and embedded sensors to make the skin of the fighter itself serve as sensors. With the greater processing speed and rate of data-transfer the pilot will have a complete idea of what is happening around the fighter. The system will ensure maximum output for IR, LIDAR, AESA RADAR and SAR.

The sensor suite is capable of jamming using concentrated sensor power in addition to directed energy attacks that are capable of frying most circuits. Finally it can also launch cyber attacks and is optimized for tracking several ground and air targets which it shares with the greater battlespace.

Stealth:
The Phoenix places great emphasis on stealth, its design already significantly reduces the RCS compared to fifth generation fighters but that is not where the stealth stops. Finally the skin is very sensitive which allows it to both absorb signals due to its RAM and with help from cloud-based systems and the network detect the source of even the most sophisticated RADAR systems.

Engines:
(1) The engines are embedded deep within the bowels of the aircraft, hiding the heat the produce within; and the hot exhaust is shielded from detection by the body in exhaust channels that allow the hot gasses to cool significantly.
(2) Materials have been chosen wherever possible that limit greybody radiation and have low emissivity levels. In the few areas where these simple systems of reducing the heat signature are not enough, power from the engine is employed to actively cool the region at minor performance loss.
(3) The engines themselves play a large part in minimizing heat. Being very efficient, waste heat is minimized and contained within the engine block itself. Extensive heat scavenging is used to both cool the exhaust and improve efficiency. Additionally much of the waste heat is captured and returned into the engine. The engine itself actively optimizes its geometry for its current speed and atmospheric conditions.
(4) These functions combined create an aircraft that is nearly invisible on the infrared spectrum when traveling below approximately Mach 2.5.

F-70.png
F-70 Chaos
Classified Design

Role: Manned or unmanned hypersonic stealth interceptor
Manufacturer: Hellenic Aerospace Industry, Airbus Military, Iberian Aerospace and Alenia Aermacchi
Maximum speed: Mach 10(Unmanned), Mach 3(Manned*)
*Manned configurations are limited only by the limits of the pilot
Range: 4000 nmi
Combat radius: 1500 nmi
Weapons:
-Solid State Chemical Energy Laser - 1
-High-Power Microwave Directed-Energy Weapon - 1
-Internal Hardpoint - 12

General:
With the arrival of more and more advanced fighters the older defensive systems were not prepared for the Apollo Institute upon instructions from the Ministry of Defense began research into a new aircraft that could outfly any fighter in the air and get within range of even the fastest bombers. With these functions in mind the concept of the Chaos was born, an interceptor with the speed and efficiency to intercept enemy aircraft before they can pose a threat. The F-70 can be used in both unmanned and manned configurations. When unmanned the F-70 can fly at much faster speeds and make more dangerous moves that would kill the pilot in manned configurations.

Control Systems:
(1) With the photonics and fly by light systems having been proven to be a great asset in different fighters the F-70 too employs photonics as a replacement for conventional wires. Due to its design and the speeds it can operate at control of the fighters would be very difficult under normal circumstances. In manned configurations the systems allow greater control over the F-70 and in both configurations the systems provide greater protection against jamming or other methods of electronic warfare.
(2) The F-70 much like other sixth generation fighters in the Hellenic Air Force has a highly advanced networked virtual intelligence to process information from battles. In manned configurations the VI provides the pilot with information about targets and controls the electronic and cyber warfare suit, it also maintains the engines in flight. In unmanned configurations it takes over full control of the F-70, using the instructions provided by the greater network and personnel on the ground the F-70 is capable of completing a mission with some form of autonomy. While nowhere near the ability to adapt like a human would it can move away from the programming. The Virtual Intelligence is linked to the greater ISIS network spanning all elements of the Hellenic Forces and linked to similar systems of allied powers. Due to this link experience obtained by other F-70s or other fighters and even units from the other branches can be used for the individual F-70 to improve its effectiveness. In essence this allows the national network to over a prolonged period improve itself

Sensors:
Contrary to more conventional fighters which have radar systems in the nose of the fighter the F-70 uses a combination of microelectronics and embedded sensors to make the skin of the fighter itself serve as sensors.

Extensive heat scavenging is used to both cool the exhaust and improve efficiency. Additionally much of the waste heat is captured and returned into the engine. The engine itself actively optimizes its geometry for its current speed and atmospheric conditions.
(4) While all these functions combined reduce heat somewhat the F-70 when used at full speed will still show up on most IR detection systems.

B-1.jpg
Note: Image is a rough estimation, for one actual rp design lacks canards and active camouflage. Intakes are also in an even more stealthy shape

B-1 Nocturnal
Classified Design

Role: Supersonic ulta-low observation bomber
Manufacturer: Hellenic Aerospace Industry, Airbus Military, Iberian Aerospace and Alenia Aermacchi
Maximum speed: Mach 1.83
Range: 7000 nmi
Weapons:
2 internal bays for 70,000lb of ordnance
2 Solid State Chemical Energy Laser
2 High-Power Microwave Directed Energy Weapon

General:
Recent conflicts the Athenian Federation has been involved in required prolonged penetration of hostile airspace which was dangerous even with air superiority. While the B-10 and B-11 serve excellent in the conventional roles and remains the backbone of the bomber fleet there was the need for a stealth bomber capable of deploying weapons for a prolonged time. With the B-9 being outdated and the U-1 not capable of using the kind of payloads required the Apollo Institute had begun development of a new supersonic bomber capable of deploying massive amounts of ordnance loitering in enemy airspace while remaining hard to catch and capable of fending off enemy attacks. The result of this project was the B-1 employing proven technologies from sixth generation fighters and previous experience with older bombers.

Construction:
(1)The B-1 is constructed around an advanced microsphere based hollow skeletal frame. This gives it dramatically decreased weight, while not sacrificing structural integrity. Outside the based structure is advanced 3-d printing based composite materials which provide a strong heat and g-force resistant high endurance frame which is superior at managing and masking thermal energy while providing optimized reduced radar cross section. As part of a radar absorbent structure, much of the bombers's panels have honey combed kevlar bonded onto them, thus increasing the bomber's radar absorption qualities against high frequency radar.
(2) Beyond an optimized stealth air frame design, near immune to most first generation stealth detection methods ranging from passive radar detection, to OTH radar waves, the B-1 is equipped with advanced nano-technology based radar absorbent materials. These materials have been optimized to trap radar waves rather than simply redirect them inwards. In this way the body is optimized to defeat any type of radar. Once internalized, the stealth uses the thermosystems developed to deal with excess heat and reduce infrared to redirect energy into the engines. This doubles as making the plane resistant to directed energy attack and jamming. The absorbant material also acts as a method to reduce the infrared profile while the bomber is moving at higher speeds.
(3) The nano-technology technology based RAM is designed based on 'darker than black' silver nanowiring. This technology can optimize the B-1s radar absorbent materials to various frequencies including the infrared and visual spectrum in flight (though it cannot function simultaneously with defeating x-band radar.)
(4) The unit is also designed to minimize UV reflectivity, allowing it to hide in the fog of the Earth's atmosphere.

(4) These functions combined create an aircraft that is nearly invisible on the infrared spectrum even when traveling at is maximum speed.
(5) The Engine bloc has been carefully constructed with composite materials designed to minimize friction and endure higher temperatures than other engines. This combined with increased efficiency and minimizing waste heat allows the B-1's engine block to be amongst the most powerful and stealthiest built.

Photonics and Control Systems:
(1) Like almost all sixth generation fighters the B-1 uses advanced photonics to cancel out the need for conventional wiring while greatly increasing processing speed. Using this fly-by-light system the bomber saves space while actually increasing efficiency.
(2) The B-1 features an advanced network artificial intelligence system which can assist pilots. The B-1 is linked to the cross-platform ISIS network, which can both share information amongst planes as well as operate in a more limited capacity on a single platform. This network builds data points based on intelligence as well as encounters with enemy units to improve each B-1s awareness of the battlefield, providing such information as larger troop formations, buildings of military significance. In addition due to the B-1 also being linked to all other units in the Hellenic or allied forces it can anticipate enemy aircraft approaching it. Further the system operates the directed energy weapons suites, unified sensor systems, and electronic/cyberwafare suites in defensive modes and can be set to operate them in offensive mode. The unit also automatically retunes engines for maximum efficiency in task and assists with repairs and maintaining stealth systems to minimize the pilot's involvement in mundane tasks. The AI is equipped with advanced prediction capabilities which exceed previous models, and inputs the data directly into the pilot via neural uplink. This allows for maximum reaction time while requiring considerable training. Further the system is designed to be highly resistant to cyber and electronic warfare.

Sensor Systems:
(1) The B-1 features a photonics based unified sensor system, of multiple band passive and active LPI radar systems (AESA, SAR, Passive), passive electro-optical infrared sensors, advanced computer recognition imaging visual sensors, LIDAR, and passive ultra violet scope. The B-1 is capable of cross reference enemy units across a wide database of information to detect even some of the most advanced stealth aircraft in the world while remaining undetected itself. This capability is widely embedded into the skin of the aircraft itself creating a 360 degree battle space image.
(2) The B-1 features an advanced integrated jamming system. This capability includes directing radar energy from the unified sensor to conduct energy attacks that are capable of frying guidance on other planes, incoming missiles, and ground systems. This capability is further enhanced by a dedicated phased array high powered microwave weapon system, which is designed to penetrate even hardened systems.
(3) The B-1 features advanced cyber attack and redundant broadband data uplink capabilities, allowing it to share information and conduct advanced ever changing tailored data stream cyber attacks, as well as probe enemy information security defenses.
(4) The B-1 is capable of deploying "digital wingman" support drones which have been configured to act as picket and electronic warfare units, as well as decoys.

Countermeasures and Counter Counter Measures:
(1) The B-1 is equipped with internalized DRFM jamming. Utilizing the plane's passive sensor suite, the F-5 is able to use DRFM jamming even against phased array radars which are typically much harder to jam. Its highly sensitive system is designed to detect ground and air based detection threats before they detect it so that they may be defeated.
(2) The B-1s AESA radar is capable of conducting directed energy and electronic attacks against enemy sensor threats. Additionally it is capable of doing an inserted tailored data stream cyber warfare attack against targets. Its onboard virtual intelligence is optimized to attack targets in this method, particularly remote ones.
(3) The B-1 is equipped with advanced chaff and flare counter measures.
(4) the B-1s onboard VI is optimized to defeat multiple air to air and surface to air threats simultaneously.

Weapon Systems:
(1)"Dial an Effect" Directed Energy Weapons Suite: The B-1 features a variable powered directed energy suite consisting of high powered microwave and laser directed energy weapons capable of destroying incoming projectiles, and in certain cases other aircraft and some surface targets. At minimum it is capable of jamming if not destroying completely defeating surface targets. The B-1s Weapon suite may be controlled by the pilot, or more often in defensive mode, acts as an autonomous active defense system against missiles and guns.
(2)Internal Weapons Bays: The B-1 is capable of carrying up to 70,000lb ordnance of various types internally. Depending on the mission it will carry smart bombs, cluster munitions, strategic packages, etc.

U-1.jpg
U-1 Maia
Classified Design

Role: Autonomous or Remote Controlled Stealth UCAV
Manufacturer: Hellenic Aerospace Industry, Airbus Military, Iberian Aerospace and Alenia Aermacchi
Maximum speed: Mach .9
Range: 2200 nmi
Combat radius: 1000 nmi
Weapons U-1A:
-Internal weapons bay - 2
-Solid State Chemical Energy Laser - 1
Weapons U-1B:
-Internal Hardpoint - 4
-Internal 25mm HDRM ETC cannon - 1
-Solid State Chemical Energy Laser - 1

General:

The U-1 Maia borrows a lot of its design from the existing sixth generation fighters, using a fully photonoc avionics system, sensors built into the skin of the drone and more of the features that gives sixth generation fighters an edge it is highly effective against most air defenses. Stealth is also reinforced by its relatively small size making both visual and radar detection more difficult. The system will ensure maximum output for IR, LIDAR, AESA RADAR and SAR.

The Maia's armaments consist out of 2 internal weapons bays that can carry up to 2000kg of ordnance.

Electronic Warfare:

Like other sixth generation fighters the Maia features a directed energy weapon, while significantly weaker to its counterparts the DEW is able to fry radar systems and missile guidance systems, at the same time concentration of radar energy will create a similar effect. Electronic warfare capabilities are focused on disabling threats to the Maia itself and other aircraft which may follow after the initial attack. The system is equipped with an extensive suite for jamming.

Control:

The Maia can be configured to be either remote controlled by computers in the Athenian Federation, personnel or fully autonomous independent from systems at home. At all times a highly secured uplink is maintained with the greater ISIS network giving the U-1 another advantage, namely full access to the information the greater network provides. A security feature has been included that the U-1 will automatically return home if an anomaly in its constrol systems is detected, such a situation however is unlikely due to the many security features included.

U-2.jpg
U-2 Hermes
Classified Design

Role: Multi-purpose Autonomous or Remote Controlled UAV
Manufacturer: Hellenic Aerospace Industry, Airbus Military, Iberian Aerospace and Alenia Aermacchi
Maximum speed: Mach 12+
Range: 10000 nmi
Service ceiling: Near Space

General:

The U-2 is an unarmed multi-purpose UAV serving as a replacement for older UAVs and AWACS, using highly heat resistant materials it can essentially fly way above the interception range of most air defenses and faster than any manned fighter could.

As a defensive measure the U-2 is given an extensive electronic warfare suite to counter enemy missiles and older generation fighters that somehow manage to get at the altitude to engage it.

Like all other UAVs of the Athenian Federation it can be launched from carriers used by the Hellenic Navy.

U-2A: Surveillance

The U-2A is equipped with several high resolution camera's and an extensive sensor suite consisting of IR, LIDAR, AESA RADAR and SAR systems. The U-2A is used for surveillance and reconaissance missions, when needed it can also patrol the border. The Hermes generally stays at the top of its service ceiling however when unable to get a clear image of the area will move to a lower altitude. All information gathered is sent directly back through the ISIS network

U-2B: Communications & Network

The U-2B is equipped with an extensive suite to set up battlefield communications and network with the greater ISIS system. In this configuration the Hermes acts as a supporting unit to satellites or can even completely take over the satellite function if for whatever reason the ISIS network does not cover a specific area. The greater processing power allows it to filter the information and only show to the units on the ground, in the air or on the sea what they need.

U-2C: Warning & Control

The U-2C is the backbone of any operation the Hellenic Forces are involved in. It effectively serves as a complete replacement for the older manned AWACS system. Equipped with a sensor suite much like the U-2A and a communication platform like the U-2B it can actively detect threats, process information gathered by other means and relay such information back to command and the units in the field. The hermes in this configuration is used in all military operations, generally supported by other U-2 units but if needed standalone.

U-2D: Transmitter

The U-2D is a modification of the U-2B, rather than having a communication suite aimed at providing information to own forces it will use an extensive suite to hijack enemy communications, from disrupting frequencies by filling them with noise or selectively playing disinformation fed to it by operators in the Federation. If positioned well enough a single U-2D could interfere with almost all communication methods a sizeable country maintains.

The Erebos is the newest utility helicopter used by the Hellenic Forces, based on the American Black Hawk design it is a proven vehicle. To make it able to compete in a modern combat zone the Erebos has been granted an extended range of systems. Using the newest in active camouflage visual detection, especially from range has been made almost impossible. In addition its systems have been modified to be significantly more quiet than its Black Hawk predecessor.

In line with the cyber security threats in modern warfare the Erebos has been granted several passive and active systems. Its passive systems include a secured satellite uplink to the ISIS network to greater assess threats and active countermeasures to known systems that could attempt to disrupt the operations of the Erebos. Likewise its systems have been hardened against EMP attacks.

Its more active systems include electronic countermeasures to interrupt with the guidance systems of incoming missiles and in a limited form RADAR sites.

The Erebos has been designed in such a way that its systems work in a modular fashion where each duty can be preconfigured to maximise its efficiency on a specific task. Currently configurations exist for special forces insertion, conventional troop deployment, deployment from ship, transport and a specific modification for the police to maintain law and order.

F-5 Quantum Multi-Role Fighter 'Super Quantum' and 'Strike Quantum'
Classified Design

Key Construction:
(1)The F-5 is constructed around an advanced microsphere based hollow skeletal frame. As part of a radar absorbent structure, much of the fighter's panels have honey combed kevlar bonded onto them, thus increasing the fighter's radar absorption qualities against high frequency radar.
(2) The F-5 is design is capable of reaction to electric impulses which allow the air frame to "morph", this occurs when the wings readjust themselves in flight from flat, to curve, to a final configuration which has a significant reverse sweep for hypersonic flight. This system is designed to maintain a stealth shape while allowing for greater or less air resistance, and higher angles of attack in normal configuration, while higher air speed with lower drag in others. This change gives the F-5 a significant reduction in IR as well, as it requires less thrust and friction.
(3) The F-5's tail less design decreases the stability of the aircraft dramatically meaning yielding significant improvements in its maneuverability and agility, while also reducing the areas of drag. As with other designs this drag decrease increases range, while decreases IR profile. Instead of a tail the F-5 uses thrust vectoring technology to steer the plane. This is supported by the skeletal frame and its morphing wing capability to help further steer the plane.
(4) Beyond an optimized stealth air frame design, near immune to most first generation stealth detection methods ranging from passive radar detection, to OTH radar waves, the F-5 is equipped with advanced nano-technology based radar absorbent materials. The absorbant material also acts as a method to reduce the infrared profile while the fighter is moving at higher speeds.
(5) The nano-technology technology based RAM is designed based on 'darker than black' silver nanowiring. This technology can optimize the F-5s radar absorbent materials to various frequencies including the infrared and visual spectrum in flight (though it cannot function simultaneously with defeating x-band radar.)
(6) The unit is also designed to minimize UV reflectivity, allowing it to hide in the fog of the Earth's atmosphere.
(7) The F-5 is based on the F-1 frame, however, the F-5 is approximately a 25 percent larger aircraft. It is equipped with additional space in the nose for more sophisticated sensors which can compliment the standard F-1 integrated sensor system. This modular sensor configuration includes a 2800 module Advanced AESA radar, and room for a larger forward looking scope to detect stealth threats in super configuration. In striker configuration, the unit features a larger scope, but also radar optimized for tracking large amounts of ground targets.

(5) The Engine bloc has been carefully constructed with composite materials designed to minimize friction and endure higher temperatures than other engines. This combined with increased efficiency and minimizing waste heat allows the F-5's engine block to be amongst the most powerful and stealthiest turbofans built.

Photonics and Control Systems:

(1) The F-5 Quantum features fly by light controls, which allow for the pilot to take advantage of the plane's tail less extreme aerodynamic instability for extraordinary agility and maneuverability, as well as for ease of flight while cruising and capability for carrier landings.
(2) The F-5 Quantum features an advanced network artificial intelligence system which can assist pilots in both manned and unmanned configurations. The F-5 Quantum is linked to the cross-platform ISIS network, which can both share information amongst planes as well as operate in a more limited capacity on a single platform. This network builds data points based on intelligence as well as encounters with enemy units to improve each F-5s awareness of enemy units with information ranging from maximum rate of turn, to radar and infrared profiles, to targeting data. Further the AI can achieve omni directional missile locks at instruction without requiring the pilot to sight a target with their HUD. Block 3 F-5s are equipped with a further improved version of this system, the AI is equipped with advanced prediction capabilities which exceed previous models, and inputs the data directly into the pilot via neural uplink. This allows for maximum reaction time while requiring considerable training. Further the system is designed to be highly resistant to cyber and electronic warfare.
(3) The F-5 Quantum features an improved version of the 360 degree virtual heads up display developed for the F-47 Sino Fighter.

Sensor Systems:

(1) The F-5 Quantum features a photonics based unified sensor system, of multiple band passive and active LPI radar systems (AESA, SAR, Passive), passive electro-optical infrared sensors, advanced computer recognition imaging visual sensors, LIDAR, and passive ultra violet scope. The F-5 is capable of cross reference enemy units across a wide database of information to detect even some of the most advanced stealth aircraft in the world while remaining undetected itself. This capability is widely embedded into the skin of the aircraft itself creating a 360 degree battle space image.
(2) The F-5 Quantum features an advanced integrated jamming system.
(3) The F-5 Quantum features advanced cyber attack and redundant broadband data uplink capabilities, allowing it to share information and conduct advanced ever changing tailored data stream cyber attacks, as well as probe enemy information security defenses.
(4) The F-5 Quantum is capable of deploying "digital wingman" support drones which have been configured to act as picket and electronic warfare units, as well as decoys.

Countermeasures and Counter Counter Measures:

(1) The F-5 is equipped with internalized DRFM jamming. Utilizing the plane's passive sensor suite, the F-5 is able to use DRFM jamming even against phased array radars which are typically much harder to jam. Its highly sensitive system is designed to detect ground and air based detection threats before they detect it so that they may be defeated.
(2) The F-5s AESA radar is capable of conducting directed energy and electronic attacks against enemy sensor threats. Additionally it is capable of doing an inserted tailored data stream cyber warfare attack against targets. Its onboard virtual intelligence is optimized to attack targets in this method, particularly remote ones.
(3) The F-5 Electro-Optical Infrared Scope is designed to defeat IR countermeasures
(4) The F-5 is equipped with advanced chaff and flare counter measures.
(5) the F-5s onboard VI is optimized to defeat multiple air to air and surface to air threats simultaneously.

Weapon Systems:
"Dial an Effect" Directed Energy Weapons Suite: The F-5 features a variable powered directed energy suite consisting of high powered microwave and laser directed energy weapons capable of destroying incoming projectiles, and in the latest models other aircraft and some surface targets. At minimum it is capable of jamming if not destroying completely defeating surface targets. The F-5s Weapon suite may be controlled by the pilot, or more often in defensive mode, acts as an autonomous active defense system against missiles and guns.
Double 25 mm 'ETC' Reactive Round Cannon: The F-5 features an ETC Reactive Round Cannon, with this capability it is capable of firing its gun at a much more rapid rate and have it much more destructive. The gun is capable of programmed area effect explosive rounds using HDRM technology. This allows the fighter to have an unmatched edge in a gun dogfight as a single direct hit or even several area hits is sufficient to engaging and destroy other enemy aircraft rather than multiple direct hits. Further this weapon can be used in direct ground support for the F-5s secondary strike fighter role.
*This weapon is slowly being phased in as new rounds become available.
Internal Weapons Bays: The F-5 is capable of deploying 14 next generation tactical air munitions or NGTAM. The NGTAM can be optimized in flight for range of engagement from long to short range, and comes in both air to air and air to ground configuration, utilizing multiple guidance systems both onboard other platforms and on itself, including revolutionary image recognition final kill capability against advanced stealth opponents. Its power has further been enhanced by the introduction of HDRM technology. NGTAMs are capable of operating from extremely advanced network passive sensor detection or from low frequency wavelengths against which stealth is less capable against. This allows it to home in on the general area of a target, then extremely sophisticated IR and visual sensors as well as networked additional power is capable of making a final kill at BVR against advanced low visibility opponents. The F-5 is also capable of deploying additional picket extreme stealth drones from this bay. The F-5 is also capable of employing four ER-M-51s in a strike role.

B-11.jpg

Name: B-11 'Victor'

Unit Type: Optionally Manned intercontinental bomber
Speed: Mach 2.7 Supercruise (2.3 with external weapons)
Max Speed: Mach 8
Range: 14, 000 kilometers (+1000 kilometers per fuel pylon)
Combat Radius: 8500 kilometers (+450 kilometer per fuel pylon)
Unit Engine: The B-11 Victor uses a combination engine which is based around a super efficient compact turbojet engine which is combined with ram and scramjet capabilities for ultra high at altitude capabilities. In low IR mode, the B-11 utilizes the turbojet for long range super cruise at Mach 2.7. While this capability emits significantly more IR than a ultra high efficiency turbofan deployed on tactical aircraft, the B-11s superior size (thus greater heat management capability for dealing with exhaust) and longer stand off range more than compensates for this in making the craft difficult to detect. Further the B-11 Victor is equipped with specialized H2 injectors to increase thrust in ram and scramjet mode. While this boosts capability in high speed modes, in low IR mode this same fuel can be used as part of a cooling system.
Stealth Characteristics: The B-11 Victor is equipped with multiple stealth characteristics. Principle among these is its highly blended stealth design, which reduces the RCS of the aircraft. The B-11 however, it is tested to have a minimum detection range against an APG-77 AESA radar of 50 nmi, this makes it virtually stealth as its weapons range is a minimum of 200 nmi. Beyond this however, the B-11 Victor is equipped with darker than black silver nano-wire radar absorbtion material. This can be reconfigured in flight, but is default optimized to defeat methods of electro-magnetic detection most commonly on the long range spectrum. This material is capable of absorbing huge amounts of radar energy and converting it into heat energy which is channeled to the engines to be managed by the engine system. In default internal configuration this puts the B-11 at about .001 meter RCS. However, the B-11 is a front line heavy bomber. Thus it must also take a measured approach between surviveability and strike payload. The B-11 carries considerable internal fire power along four rotary cruise missile launchers, or eight NGTAM rotary missile launchers, or four long range strike heavy packages (nuclear, EMP, or themobaric). The B-11 is thusly equipped with a total possible of 20 conformal stealth weapons pylons. This units are equipped with an inexpensive yet highly radar absorbant schiff salt based RAM, developed by research originally at Carnegie Mellon. They are highly blended. This adds the capability of deploying up to 10 external cruise missile size or up to 20 AIMRAM sized weapons for air to air defense. It should be noted however when such weapon systems are deployed, the B-11s super cruise is reduced to Mach 2.3 due to a combination of air resistance and increased weight. This can also be used to carry additional fuel. Additionally in this configuration the B-11 is only .01 meters stealth.
Sensors: The B-11 Victor is equipped with multiple sensor packages. It has a FLIR scope based on advanced nano-technology which improves range and accuracy of electro-optical detection as well is highly competent against countermeasures. Its equipped with a powerful ultra-low probability of intercept AESA radar which allows it to function as a forward radar picket and AWAC as well as a bomber. This radar also has cyber and electronic attack capabilities. The body is configured to have maximum passive radar detection, allowing it to track multiple targets when its own signals are turned off. Additionally it is equipped with a synthetic aperture radar capability allowing it to track targets on the ground with similar capability to the J-STAR. This combination makes it a highly effective information and situational awareness platform, capabile of linking with other units over a secure data uplink.
Defenses: The B-11 Victor is equipped with the most advanced UFE DRFM jamming pod to defeat enemy radar. It is also equipped with the latest in lock breaking technologies, especially using its high powered microwave emitter to destroying homing missiles. Beyond this the B-11 Victor is capable of breaking lock with IR jamming weapons either by retuning the silver nano-wire technology for IR, using directed energy, or by as a last resort employing chaff. The B-11 Victor's VI provides it with advanced anti-cyber defense capability as well.

Unit Name: Prince Gong Carrier
Length: 320 meters
Power Type: Quadruple Thorium Reactor
Tonnage: 85, 000 Tonnes Displacement
Maximum Speed: 38 Knots
Cruising Speed: 32 Knots

Protection Systems:

The Prince Gong relies on several layers of protection. The first is advanced nanotechnology based armor which provides armor which is both extraordinarily flexible and shock absorbent, layered with hardened material to provide an armor which can both keep the ship operational and distribute the force of explosions. This allows the flight deck especially to remain operational even when taking several ASM direct hits, and makes most under sea attacks against the warship highly ineffective. Secondly, the Prince Gong has been demagnetized on the bottom to prevent detection. Its propulsion system is an extremely quiet jet based system which minimizes its cruising sound, shortening the distance at which attack submarine sonar can find the vessel. With integrated sensor systems, the vessel is capable of locating orbiting satellite systems, with a friend or foe tracker take action to avoid them or use cyber and directed energy capabilities to blind satellites. The PG is also shaped for maximum forward reduced radar cross section characteristics and equipped with RAM material. This makes the vessel appear both smaller to many surface combatents and air craft, and shortens detection ranges to beyond the stand off range of its long range missiles and warplanes. The PGs photonic based quantum computer system combined with its powerful newest generation AESA radar allows it to conduct both electronic and cyber jamming on shore based and surface based defenses. These features maximize the Carrier's survivability and mark a renewal of the aircraft carrier as a hard to find first strike aerial platform.

Sensors:

Sun Tzu II AESA Surface+ Air Radar: The Prince Gong has the most advanced and powerful AESA radar on any ship. Its based on a photonics system instead of traditional electronics which dramatically increases the output power of the vessel. This AESA radar is highly resistant to being jammed or cyber attacked and can defeat most anti ship missiles being fired against the Prince Gong Class. The radar is tuned against much of the reduced cross sections faced in modern combat, and while it cannot totally defeat stealth it can help locate areas of interest for other radar systems as well as deliver a highly concentrated energy surge to that location.

Low Frequency Radar: The Prince Gong is also equipped with a very low frequency radar. Because this radar is highly sensitive, it can detect many stealth designs which are optimized for higher frequency detection. Because Low Frequency detects huge amounts of clutter making it difficult to be used alone, the LFR takes advantage of increase computing power enabled by secure long range cloud computing and photonics based quantum computing available aboard the vessel.

Synethic Aperture Radar: The Prince Gong is equipped with its own synethic aperture radar systems as well as various UAVs and satellite link ups for secure synethic aperture radar imagine for maximum battle space awareness.
Electro-Optical IR Imaging: The Prince Gong has powerful Electro-Optical IR Imaging technology coupled with an advanced object recognition database which allows for long range visual detection on the IR and visual light spectrum. This may be integrated with missile, DEW, and gun systems to engage targets by purely visual means of detection.

Integrated Passive and Active Sonar: The Prince Gong's sonar systems can also include the deployment of recoverable Unmanned Submarine Vehicles and Air deployed Sonar bouys allowing it to deploy a theatre portable SOSUS grid. Massive computing powers combined with cloud computing and access to advanced auditory recognition software allows unprecedented situational awareness undersea. Further advanced sonar decoys can be deployed to make submarine torpedo guidance weaker as well as deceive enemy subs.

Weapons Description: This ship is designed for three missions: the first is Hostile Coastal Sea Control. The ship is capable of surviving sorties against areas with heavy sea defense and over power enemy defenses with its combination of missiles and rail guns. Long range medium ballistic missiles and cruise missiles are the longest range weapons; capable of engaging targets from far off shore or penetrating the enemy interior. Rail guns are designed for long-range bombardment as well, these weapons provide extremely devastating fire-power at a range to equivalent to many different types of cruise missiles.

The ship is equipped with an arsenal of smaller guns as well which can act as both onshore artillery support from off shore as well as provide a defensive perimeter around other ships, denying smaller littoral enemy ships the ability to interdict forces operating within the battleships range.

The ship has the capability of engaging enemy submarines (although it typically leaves this to its escort destroyers and attack submarines plus support helicopters). Its torpedo bays are also capable of launching torpedo based missiles, which after an extended range will fire off from underwater, this provides the ability to fire a weapon while not revealing the ships position.

The ship is built to be a fortress against air attack. It is equipped with strategic surface to air missiles and two large chemical lasers to provide strategic defense. This gives the ship the ability to defend against much longer range and more powerful ballistic and cruise missiles and stand off capability against enemy long-range naval bombers and fighter/bombers. The ships second line of defense is three tactical energy lasers, as well as the continued use of its long range anti-aircraft missiles. These can provide further defense and are especially effective against surface skimming missiles. Finally the ship is equipped with 8 SeaRAMs providing close in missile and gatling gun defense, additionally a pair of triple firing auto cannons provides additional defense for the primary bridge and can engage enemy fast moving small surface ships.

Anti-Submarine Warfare Continuous Trail Unmanned Vessel (ACTUV)

Manufacturer: Hellenic Shipyards Co.
Full Load Displacement: 180 tons
Length: 19.1m
Beam: 5.8m
Draft: 10.1m
Height Above Water: 4.3m
Max Speed:
27 kts max silent speed
40 kts max speed

The ACTUV is a revolutionary development in anti-submarine warfare systems. Where tracking submarines over long distances in the past proved hard for more conventional means such as SOSUS and satellites the ACTUV fills in this gap. Once a submarine is found through conventional means a single or group of ACTUVs can be deployed from ships or naval base, in addition ACTUVs can also be prepositioned at a certain location where it can loiter for 30 days followed by a 30 days max energy trail mission without the need to refuel once. In addition to outspeeding any submarine known its turn rate allows it to outturn any enemy submarine and most weapons carried by one.

The ACTUV itself lacks weapons and only has countermeasures and its design to defend itself against an enemy however due to the relative cheap cost of production it is reasonable to have large numbers of ACTUVs at any given time to deal with the issues of losses. Using a beyond state-of-the-art sensor suite the ACTUV is able to track even the most stealthy diesel submarines efficiently and through its datalink share the information with other ASW assets on a global level. While the ACTUV has some form of remote control the programming allows it to act without remote control for weeks at a time efficiently.

Athens

Athens is the pride of the Athenian Federation. Arisen from the ashes after the Greek Civil War it has become a truly grand and beautiful city combining modern architecture with old facilities in a special combination, some even say it is the most beautiful city in Europe. In addition to being the seats of the Eastern monarch, magistrates, parliament and military it is also the cultural heart of the Athenian Federation. As one of the two capitals Athens is a de-weaponized zone. Inside the city(with the exception of the Imperial Palace or within 500 meters of the Empress where the High Guard are allowed to carry weapons) no weapons are allowed and violence is punished significantly harder than in the rest of the country, this policy has resulted in barely any crime existing within the city. Because of this policy the military and High Guard have their headquarters just outside the city.

Mount Olympus(Great Temple)

Using the newest available in construction methods the Mount Olympus complex is the religious capital of the Hellenicists. The different order of Olympian deities all have their home there and seek to provide a home for all lost souls in the Athenian Federation. The complex is protected by a network of anti-air systems and fighters regularly make patrols over it to ensure its security. Anyone seeking to join one of the orders must make the clim to the complex on foot.

Apollo Institute(NRL & WRC)

The Apollo Institute is a conglomerate being in charge of a series of different facilities throughout the Athenian Federation, with its headquarters in Athens it is the prime research organization currently in the Federation. Doing research from fusion power to artificial intelligence to tanks and even weapons of mass destruction. The Apollo Institute prides itself in standing among the best if not being the best in Europe.
