For God's sake, Hitler was Man of the Year in 1938.

Stalin won a number of times as well.
They've gone kinda boring since then; really, Osama Bin Laden should have won in 2001, given how much he influenced the world.

For God's sake, Hitler was Man of the Year in 1938.

It's hard to name someone that had more influence over the next few years than him, even if it wasn't a good one.

TIME magazine has Psy, the creator of Gangnam Style, as the #4 for Person of the Year. What say you CN Forum users? Should Psy be Person of the Year for 2012?

He was #4 in the public vote, which has no effect on Time magazine's selection of the actual person of the year. (Remember that North Korean dictator Kim Jong Un was #1 on the public vote.) The 2012 man/list has not been announced yet.

For 2012 it would be the Pope for his twitter account, or better yet, Fidel and his brand new MySpace account.

It's a valid choice in a roundabout way. Psy can be seen as a result of the 21st century global internet society. A South Korean song goes all over the world. Meaningless when taken with no context, in context, it is part of the most incredible transformation in human history.

They made Sandra Fluke the number one person of the year. Frankly, I find that to be an even more baffling choice.

She's on the list of candidates but she's no where near #1

EL James, Malala Yousafza, Barack Obama (If it was only for America), Mario Draghi. These are the only candidates I'd actually vote for, and Malala if I had to pick one. Draghi is second, Obama third, James fourth.

You have to actually done something, that affected everyone. Zuckerburg and The Protester were great picks. Obama did a lot during his term that drastically changed America, but much doesn't affect the world. Actors, singers, and athletes winning it is just ridiculous. EL James is a weird exception because I actually believe her books are changing the way we look at certain things.

I think Mars is a waste of time, and isn't really changing the world. Just my opinion. Obama will probably win it, as Reagan and Bush did after winning a second term.
