I'm really excited for FOOTBALL to finally start tonight so I thought I would share my upset picks of the week.  I go mainly by gut feeling and prejudice and I do no real research so don't get too mad at me. Make fun of me if you need to, I will probably agree with your assessment.

Lord of Light is probably the best book I have ever read.  If you've read it, isn't it awesome? I'm almost glad they never made that movie about it. If you haven't read it, you really need to get off your ass and do so.

Today I took a chance on the movie Sunshine with Cillian Murphy, the dude who was in Fantastic Four and directed by the Slumdog Millionaire guy.

The premise is interesting: the Sun is dying and 8 astronauts attempt to restart it by shooting a bomb the size of Manhattan into it. I'm unsure if the science behind it makes any sense but hey, that's...

I used to play Dwarf Fortress back before the Z axis was added and I recently got back into it after getting my first Angband victory.  I got to tell you, it is the most addicting game I have ever played.  Once you get over the sort of steep learning curve, it is serious fun.

I'm a huge fan of science fiction novels.  The problem with this, is that it is hard to find good ones to read.  I have searched unsuccessfully for years to find something as enjoyable as the Dune novels. Is there an author out there that compares to Frank Herbert?

I've been playing this rogue-like for a long time.  I played Moria on my father's puke green screened Compaq "laptop". Moria may be the first video game I ever played although I'm not sure if the BASIC game Gorillas was first. I've never won and this may be why I still play.

Has anyone played this gem and have you won?
