21 {164} (-1) Nusantara Elite Warriors : 22.89 --> 22.89 (+0.00)
22 {161} (+0) Nordreich : 22.88 --> 22.79 (-0.09)

I've been watching these two for about a week now, because they've been going back and forth and are pretty similar across a whole pile of categories - only separated by a tenth of a point in score, three nations, 700 ANS, 70 nukes, 1600 tech, etc. And it makes me wonder who would win in a one-on-one battle between the two, with no treaties or outside help whatsoever.

Only a couple of major differences I will point out:
  • Activity - Nordreich is at 86% activity, while NEW is only at 71%. Would the attention that Nordreich pays to their nations on a regular basis put them over the top?
  • Infra - While their tech is practically equal, NEW has about 85k more infra than Nordreich (amounting to about 10%). To what extent would the "infra-heaviness" of the average NEW nation impact the final result?
  • Navy - Nordreich's standing navy is more than double that of NEW's. Would Nordreich be able to use this head-start to dominate the naval theatre, and would that make a difference in the end?
  • Specific Nations - Nordreich's top two nations are about 20k too strong to hit even the most powerful NEW nations. Nation-for-nation, NEW is numerically outmatched until they get below 65k NS or so. Would NEW be able to make up this ground through superior tactics or a pre-emptive strike?

Hey, good spotlight. I'd say a draw.

People will say Nor will win.

Its mainly b/c Nor is treatied to more vocal and more alliances period.

NoR, I know they are extremely well organized and experienced so they would be able to coordinate attacks with greater efficiency and this is a war winning advantage. NEW needs to get out and gather some more experience before they can match NoR in this respect.

You make it sound like NEW have never fought a tough battle.

If I understand correctly, nearly all NEW members live in the same time zone. Ignoring all other factors, this can be a tremendous advantage.

In my experience, in even fights the winner is the one who strikes first. So it would depend....

Called it a draw just be annoying.

NoR because NEW can't use proper English and it's annoying.
Neither alliance is one I'd want to be in the crosshairs of, simply because both tend to be very well coordinated and very deadly (although I'd say that traditionally NEW tends to be a bit more coordinated largely due to the timezone synchronicity among their memberbase). While NoR's standing navy is much larger, an alliance militarizing for combat doesn't need very long to pack on a lot of extra naval ships when needed.

As far as who would win/lose, I'd put this one as a draw. Neither alliance could hope to "win" as they'd both likely grind each other to a fine powder before one relented, and both are so close in terms of firepower.

NEW gets an edge though as they annoy New Frontier.

this can be a tremendous advantage.

Yes and no. NEW is all in the same two time zones, but it's also one that makes it difficult to be on around update, since it's in the middle of the day. Update is at noon or 1PM for them.
A really tough call, and I was tempted to first go with NEW, but after looking at their wonders, NoR has a slightly better count of WRCs/SDIs/MPs. So I've gotta give it to NoR since most other things are near-equal.
I have a soft spot for NEW, but I don't think that influences my thought that they'd win too much.

Good fight but NEW would be far happier to continue swapping nukes in a long and pointless war. So I have to give it to NEW.
Without the intervention of allies, NEW wins, because of what Alterego said, and also because of better warchests (higher navy, lower infra = crappy warchest). We know that would never happen to Nordreich, so Nordreich's allies curbstomp NEW.
Only one way to find out.

Step it up Nordreich and NEW.

It is not that NEW has not had tough battles, But that NoR has had more, they been there and seen literally all the ways a war can play out. And they have already strategies in place to deal with most scenarios, and one of these strategies is to have friends & allies (and most of all but often ignored by some, allies who are also friends).
No offense to NEW but Nordreich is a professional alliance with highly developed economic and military systems. While NEW might have the heart, NoR has the ruthless efficiency.

Really? NEW has fought in pretty much every war for the last several years including one of their own starting. Has NoR fought in anything besides BiPolar and the past one, on the curbstomp side at that, since they reformed?

Though your ally strategy makes no sense in this context since it was a hypothetical 1 vs 1 battle as they currently stand.

That said, neither would ever truly win. Both would be destroyed if NoR wanted to continue the fight, because I know NEW wouldn't quit.
