Aggressivenutmeg's Achievements

  1. "Der Ruhr Arbeiterrat fully supports the workers, peasants and soldiers of Russia in their struggle against the counter-revolutionary movement in Ukraine. While it is a necessity for socialist republics to grant independence to ethnic and cultural minorities who are genuinely seeking self-determination the forces now rising up in Ukraine are a reactionary, nationalist force assaulting the proletariat of Russia by means of terror and in the process undermining the global revolution of the working class. We encourage the proletariate of Russia to destroy this force of terror within their borders." - The Executive Committee of the Ruhr Arbeiterrat "The Government of the Republic of Hesse calls for an end to the continued violence in Ukraine." - Department of Foreign Affairs
  2. Even if germany doesn't work out, I won't be going back to Italy. That said, Cent can you please mark Hesse as Ruhr. I'd also like red if possible. Thanks.
  3. “On behalf of the proletariat of Germany and of Hesse in particular, we thank you for the words of support. Our struggle against the bourgeoisie of Germany and Hesse continues, but we are confident that the power of the working class will overcome.” - Executive Committee of the Spartakusbund [hr] Solidaritätslied In the days following the storming of the Duisburg Rathaus, the situation in Hesse had changed dramatically. At the same time Friedrich and the Spartakusbund had been proclaiming socialism in Duisburg, the Trade Union leadership had led the workers of Wiesbaden to the parliament building, where the Social Democratic leaders had met the crowd and proclaimed a “Republic of Hesse”, and installed themselves as the governing party. In the rest of the countries major population centres, there was a hodge-podge mix of mass workers and soldiers meetings, and local governments who had declared support for the Republic in Wiesbaden. In the Ruhr cities, the mass meetings of workers and soldiers held sway over most of the population, and things were radicalising fast. Factories were occupies and Factory Committees elected. The Spartakusbund found themselves overwhelmed by the sheer number of prospective members. Elections for Duisburg, Düsseldorf, Essen, and Dortmund Arbeiterräte (Workers' Councils), as well as a greater Ruhr Arbeiterrat had been organised by the Spartakusbund in the mass meetings of workers and soldiers. Posters calling on the workers to seize their factories had been plastered all over the Ruhr cities. The Sozialdemokratische Partei Hessen (SPH), who controlled the Wiesbaden Government, had neither the strength nor the will to crush the workers and soldiers councils. While they were a nuisance, they were something that could easily be co-opted and ingrained into the state. In fact, they organised for Arbeiterräte to be elected in Mainz, Cologne, Frankfurt, Wiesbaden, and all the other major towns and cities outside of the radicalised Ruhr region. The mass unrest had forced the government in Wiesbaden to tack sharply to the left and enact a series of serious social and economic reforms including; the rationing and even distribution of bread, recognising democracy within the army, and allowing the factory committees to continue their work of democratically organising production. They also had other concerns. Hanoverian and Alvonian armies had invaded Hesse upon the fall of the old regime. With the mutinies and the general unrest, the army could not be properly organised to meet the invaders, and there was a frantic attempt to raise an SPH loyal militia to defend Wiesbaden and the republican government. The Wiesbaden Government would leave the Ruhr to the Hanoverians. If it was taken and the revolutionaries there crushed by the northerners, all the better. When word began to spread in the Ruhr region, the Soldiers' Committees - under the leadership of Spartakust soldiers - immediately began distributing weapons to volunteers. Creates of spare rifles were sent to the factories, under workers control or not. Thousands took up the call to arms against the Hanoverians. Barricades were flung up in the streets, munitions factory workers began to work around the clock to make weapons and ammunition. Soldiers and the newly raised militia elected the Revolutionäre Verteidigungsausschuß (RVA) to oversee the defence of the cities and the intense street fighting everyone was preparing for. OOC: To clarify the numbers of the militia, ~10,000 militiamen and loyal soldiers are stationed in the south, around Wiesbaden and Mainz/Frankfurt. These are under the control of the Wiesbaden Government. ~50,000 soldiers and militiamen(and women) are in the Ruhr region. They are under the control of the revolutionaries. Most of them just have a rifle, there are some machine guns and some AT weapons. All tank regiments are still in a shambles and undeclared for either side.
  4. Die Arbeitereinheitsfront The country was in shambles. The economy was in a total downturn, productivity was at an all time high as working hours had increased, but profitability was at an all time low. Overproduction had forced the industrial firms of the Ruhr to scale back their production, sack workers, and cut wages. Hunger and unemployment were rife, and strikes were at an all time high. To make matters worse for the Hessian ruling class, Russia had undergone it’s own revolution and the workers of the Rhineland were inspired with revolutionary spirit. After months of demonstrations, in which the red flag featured prominently, a general strike had been arranged for the entire country. The social democrats, who the workers had traditionally look towards for leadership, had shown themselves to be in the arms of the establishment. The party had backed the government every step of the way, denounced the strikes and any opposition to the economic policies of the state. In Duisburg, a mass demonstration was being led by a small band of radicals, calling themselves the Spartakusbund, who had found support from the workers due to their uncompromising attitude towards the bourgeois state... [hr] Friedrich had never been so excited in his life. The mass of people around him, workers and the unemployed, carried union banners and red flags. Everyone wore a red cockade or arms band, some were resting rifles on their shoulders while they cried the chants. Friedrich was at the head of one of the three columns now moving through the centre of Duisburg. There were no police, the months of striking and riots had forced them of the streets. Groups of unemployed workers had taken it upon themselves to keep law and order, beating up any police who dared to show themselves in uniform. The destination of the mass demonstration was the Rathaus - the city hall. When they burst through the doors, Friedrich had rushed up the stairs to the small balcony that overlooked the Alter Markt where the demonstrators now gathered. Friedrich had been ready for this for a long time. It had been the stuff of dreams when in university, the fantasies of a young marxist. When he was at the balcony, he waved his red flag, gathering the attention of the masses below. The noise of their cheering and chanting was deafening, as a thousand megaphones rang out at once. Soon enough, the crowed had calmed down, and with a few calls for quiet they fell to silence. "Workers and Soldiers of Germany! Today, we follow our proletarian brothers and sisters in Russia and throw off the shackles of capitalist oppression. Our blood has been spilt for centuries toiling in the factories of the bourgeoisie and fighting in imperialist wars, so the all the wealth of the world could be carved up between the parasites that sit atop the ladder of society. The day of Liberty had dawned. I proclaim the free Socialist Republic of all Germans. We extend our hand to them and ask them to complete the world revolution. Those of you who want the world revolution, raise your hands!" Thousands of hands rose up. "Die vereinigte Arbeiterklasse wird niemals besiegt werden!" OOC: I forgot the war got retconned, I'll just quietly edit the references out...
  5. Please remove Cisalpina from the map Also contested, I want to re-roll here.
  6. LA REPUBBLICA Nice - With only two days left until the plebiscite determining the future of Nice and it's surrounding country side, campaigning has peaked in intensity. A mass rally was held in favour of a 'No' vote, which marched through downtown Nice. Several scuffles with supporters of annexation broke out, but were quickly quelled by military personnel. Organisers of the 'Yes' campaign have vowed to hold a similar demonstration tomorrow, the last chance wither campaign has of convincing undecided voters. Lugano - While tensions flair in the Nicean protectorate, the Italian regions of Helvetica have seen an almost invisible campaign. Hosting only two live television debates and a few ad campaigns, it is the general expectation that the 'Yes' vote will win by a land slide. Early attempts for the 'No' campaign to get off the ground with public rallies fell flat, as few people were willing to support a campaign for Independence. Analysts say that the regions linguistic and cultural ties to northern Italy, are making it a clear win for unity. Monaco - The ancient principality of Monaco was today granted it's independence by the Senate. After lobbying members of the directory, the royal family of Monaco - House of Grimaldi - is to be reinstated as the countries hereditary monarchs and heads of state. The country will be governed by the appointed Council of State. Officially Monaco will be a sovereign nation, but all matters of foreign affairs and defence will remain in the hands of the Cisalpine Republic. OOC: Alps-Maratimes: 4/7 Italian Switzerland: 3/7
  7. [Private to Carthage] [hr] [Classified] Having spent some time preparing, the Cisalpine Republic would enter the war. Their target would be Alvonia. Air patrols with JAS 39 fighters and AW&C aircraft were already up, ready to intercept any intruders into Cisalpine airspace. The first phase of the attack would come from the skies. Global Hawk drones would be used to locate and map Alvonian military positions in the border regions, while remaining within Cisalpine airspace, something quite easy to achieve given their very high altitude. They were looking for any outposts, fixed defences, radar stations, and anti-aircraft batteries along the Alvonian border (not just it's shared border with Cisalpina, but also it's borders with Helvetica and with the Carthaginian protectorate in Venice), and larger military installations; airfields, barracks, and depots. Global Hawk drones would also be used to watch the French/Helvetican border. Once the mapping was complete, the initial attacks would come from JAS 39 fighters. They would strike at anti-air batteries and radar stations using ALARM anti-radiation missiles. Any that were missed on the first attack would be picked off in a second as soon as the fighters would return to base and refuel. Concurrent with this first wave of bombardment, Predator drones would be used to target and destroy Alvonian fixed defences and outposts, with a focus on the Adige River valley. The predators were considered disposable assets and little effort would be put into protecting them. While there was no huge reserve of drones, more could be produced faster and more easily than a whole new fighter. Minutes after the initial SEAD strikes were complete, AMX ground attack aircraft - supported by fighters - would launch attacks on all known airfields, barracks, and depots. The second wave had taken off just after the first wave to ensure there was as little time between the two waves of attacks as possible, to limit the ability of Alvonian forces to respond. The survival of the pilots was deemed paramount, and they were ordered to retreat if there was a serious threat. After the air strikes, ground forces would begin to move. Northern Switzerland had already been deserted by Cisalpine troops, in favor of more defensible terrain in the Alps - and they had had plenty of time to prepare. Reservists had been called up and were ordered to established anti-aircraft batteries across the countryside of the Po Valley. With Alpine Brigades “Julia” and “Cador” in Helvetica, Alpine Brigades “Taurinense” and “Orobica” together with “Tridentina” in reserve took up positions along the mountainous border with South Tyrol - specifically, they would fortify their positions at all the mountain passes and at Lake Idro and Lake Garda, preparing roadblocks and ambushes along the lakeside roads, as well as outposts in the mountains and hills. 3 Army Corps and Mechanised Division “Mantova” would take up positions north of Mantua, just on the border with the Carthaginian protectorate. OOC: for clarification, the Cisalpine army is organised exactly like this, except it lacks the Triest Troops Command, X Territorial Command, XI Territorial Command, and Sardinia Territorial Command. [hr] Some minutes after the air attacks, letters would be delivered to the Alvonian, Yugoslavian, and French representatives in the Cisalpine Republic containing the following declaration. The declaration would also be published online a few hours later: Official Statement from the Senate of the Cisalpine Republic With the recent outbreak of war on the European continent, the Senate of the Cisalpine Republic had hoped that a solution would be found diplomatically and with the utmost haste. However, it is clear that is not the case. The nations that now stand against our allies and friends have shown a blatant disregard for the basic principles of international cooperation. As per the Cisalpine-Romanian Treaty of Alliance, the Cisalpine republic recognises a state of War to exist between Alvonia, Yugoslavia, and France, and the Cisalpine Republic. Per Vittoria!
  8. I'm claiming this area as Illyria. Please and thank you.
  9. An embassy had already been prepared in downtown Bologna by the time the Neapolitan diplomat had arrived in the city. A few days after, once everything had been established, a meeting would be organised between the Secretary-General, Achille Oberti, and the diplomat from the south."Benvenuto amici, to the Cisalpine Republic. I am pleased that our southern Italian brothers have succeeded in the formation of their new country." Oberti said as he greeted the diplomat and his aides "If we could get down to business, there is much I would like to discuss with you concerning the future of the Peninsular."
  10. [Classified Message to Savoy] The Cisalpine Republic is currently undertaking perpetration to enter the current war taking place in Yugoslavia. In order to spare Savoy, from being unwillingly dragged into the conflict, the Cisalpine troops currently based at Les Saisies and Guillestre are temporarily being withdrawn to the Italian side of the Alps.
  11. [Classified] With war having broken out across the continent, Cisalpine troops stationed in Helvetica were ordered to withdraw into the mountains as per standard defensive procedure. The mountain passes would be occupied and prepared with trenches, barbed wire, machine guns, artillery, anti-aircraft weapons and light anti-tank weapons. Road and rail tunnels dug under the alps would be re-wired with explosives and prepared for demolition. All Cisalpine troops stationed in Savoy would be withdrawn to Italy proper and sent to the border with Sud-Tyrol/Trentino. Two armoured and two mechanised divisions, together with one motorised brigade, would be stationed on the South side over the north side of the lower Po River, near Manuta. All territorial and reserve forces would be called to active duty.
  12. "The Cisalpine Republic welcomes our new southern neighbors. We would like to invite you to send a representative to Bologna."
  13. [Classified] The Directorate has given the go-ahead for the complete replacement of the Eurofighter Typhoon fleet to be replaced with a domestic version of the JAS 39 Gripen fighter aircraft. The factories that manufactured the Typhoons and the spare parts for the Typhoons were destroyed during the nuclear war waged against Milan. The same motion passed by the Directorate also released funds to begin purchasing a fleet of unmanned aerial vehicles for medium and long range reconnaissance, as well as combat.
