So how do you properly polish your shoes?
Bull them, in various ways dependent on who taught you. I use kiwi parade gloss polish and bees wax. spit and polish as they say (some use water, I prefer spit) It's a build up of polish and spit repeatedly done in circle motions over a period of time maybe 5 hours a boot and then by the end it's like a mirror. It's great while it lasts, until you kick something by accident or some mong stands on your toes right before inspection.

It is so frustrating to get into a car or a truck or walk through a !@#$@#$ passageway and scuff up perfectly shined boots. Or, worse, inspection ready Oxfords. I finally decided to just buy corfams for dress and operational inspections.Bull them, in various ways dependent on who taught you. Yea, but once corfams are scuffed they can't be fixed? Or am I thinking of another.

Tomorrow (the 29th) will be a year to the day since my father passed away, so I have been reflecting on that day a lot the last couple of days. This is a piccie of my son and I in Ireland last Feb when we released some of my old mans ashes into the vastness of the Atlantic.

Do you have any words of advice for those who are on poor terms with their parents?

Yes I suppose I do. Namely that life is too short and once a life is gone that is it, there is no more time to say the things that need to be said. I luckily had the chance to spend a Christmas with my father before he passed, it was the first decent stretch of time that he spent with his grandson and we both were able to say things that needed to be said (he was in very poor health so I suppose we both knew the writing was on the wall) and I am thankful for that. So yeah no matter how difficult things might be with a parent if they ultimately deserve your love and respect then tell them that while there is time to do so.Do you have any words of advice for those who are on poor terms with their parents?

Thank you for sharing that. It is a message that is easy to forget in the chaos of life, but we all do so at our own peril.

No problem, of course I wish we had more time but nevertheless I can take comfort that my father knew I loved and respected him.Thank you for sharing that. It is a message that is easy to forget in the chaos of life, but we all do so at our own peril.

Ahhh right, I guess it now makes some sense. I don't like many people here, other than the people who have seen me properly out of uniform. So i guess he will have to settle for the slender man picture.
