“In preparation for the upcoming merger of forces, the Buryatian People’s Military is set to hold a series of weeklong military exercises in the Novaya Zemlya region. In addition to the regular forces stationed on the islands, the Buryatian Army has deployed more than 60,000 troops, 100 B-52Z helicopters and 300 APCs to the area. The Army also escorted an unspecified number of short range ballistic missiles from the Secondary Defense Corps. The military has reported that the deployments are being done by both air and sea, and will be completed in three days.

The Buryatian People’s Navy has deployed 3,000 personnel and 5 ships to the area. The Aircraft Carriers BNS Zhukov and BNS Excelsior are accompanied by the Vladimir Class Destroyer BNS Medvedev, the Imperial Class Submarine BNS Olenyok and the Romanov Class Battleship BNS Nikolai. All Naval assets will be in place in approximately four days. Unlike the other branches of the military, the People’s Air Force has deployed MiG-35 and Bu-160 Angel aircraft to the region. The Aircraft are being accompanied by a single B-2081 Aerial Refueling Aircraft, and an A-50 AWACS aircraft. Until all of the other forces are in place, the Air Force will be conducting strategic patrols over Novaya Zemlya and the western Vaule protectorate.

The exercise, codenamed Operation Avenging Angel, is expected to start once all forces are in place and is scheduled to run for an entire week. A spokesperson for the Defense Ministry has said that the exercise is aimed at improving the capability of the Buraytian Armed Forces to launch amphibious assaults and to combat local and regional security threats with the maximum efficiency. When asked if the timing of the exercise has anything to do with the dispute between the Slavorussian government and Buryatia regarding the Former Yacrania region, the Spokesperson denied this and stated that the exercises were planned months in advance and have nothing to do with any external situations.

BCNA Update: War games begin

-Aircraft landing in Novaya Zemlya

“We can now confirm that all forces set to participate in the military exercises in Novaya Zemlya and the waters nearby, are now in position. The Army, Navy and Air Force confirmed to BCNA that all troops and equipment was in position and ready to begin once the orders from command are received.

The Acting Defense Minister Aleksandar Trubachev has suggested that the exercises will help the armed forces to ‘shift focus to a different sort of regional security doctrine that is more compatible with the post-Buryatian era’.

As the deployments have been completed, there are now more than 60,000 soldiers, 100 attack helicopters, 300 APCs, 3000 Naval Personnel and 5 ships. With this many military units involved, this could be the largest military exercise ever conducted by the People’s Armed Forces. The exercises are expected to include anti-terrorist operations, emergency military responses, amphibious assaults, as well as other defensive maneuvers. The exercises are set to last for a week.”-Reporter

"Zargathia wishes Buryatia well in their war games, and will be taking note of events released to the public as a reference for when the time is right for us to start constructing our own navy."

Hopefully you’ll understand us being skeptical that a nation the size of yours just happens to choose to do military exercises 20 km from our shores. This scenario is all too familiar to us, a country tells the world “military exercises” but in reality it’s a rehearsal. We really do hope and pray this isn’t going to be a repeat of the events that transpired earlier this year.

Buryatia has the entirety of Siberia and Northern Asia to conduct these operations and yet they do it at the gates of Slavorussia. We see the same mistakes of the past coming quite close to bare and it is indeed a shame. Nevertheless, we would like to advise Slavorussia not to do anything that would be seen as an aggressive manner, lest war might develop and you would be seen as the aggressors here. A cool head is needed here, nothing more, but again it seems familiar to us as well. Shame if history should repeat itself so soon since the crimes of the past.

Frankly we see no reason for the Hanseatic Commonwealth to mess in this matter. We can understand Slavorussian concerns however this situation does not affect you.

Regarding the matter at hand, it is within the sovereignty of Buryatia to conduct exercises in their land and we wish them the best of luck.

"Should Buryatia indeed attack Slavorussia, then Austria will stand behind their Russian allies in Moscow.

That said, we will watch the wargames closely, hoping that they will stay games."

Forgive us...we forgot our place. We'll return to our own concerns now. Have a good day Monsieur.

He said nothing more than needed to be said. Calling him a hypocrite would be the same as us calling you a 'good nation'.

No, what the Union said was unnecessary. The Commonwealth was merely expressing an opinion and offering advice, hardly 'interfering.' They did no more than what the Union did, and yet they are called down for it. It would be more akin to us refusing to recognize your religion because a few people 'think it is ridiculous,' and yet recognizing all others.

***Public Statement from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs***

“Our government is not required to inform surrounding nations about military exercises in which all forces remain entirely on Vauleo-Buryatian territory and remain inside the confines of Vauleo-Buryatian territorial waters. We have however taken the step of publicizing the exercises as well as the numbers of units involved.

These exercises were planned more than four months in advance and will be the first of many such military exercises. For us to not include the forces stationed in the Novaya Zemlya region in such important military exercises would be an irresponsible move on the part of our government.

Regarding the statement from Austria, we request that they revise their statement as ‘Buryatia’ no longer exists as a separate entity. We have made no aggressive moves towards Slavorussia whatsoever. We are undertaking military exercises on our own sovereign territory. If Slavorussia wishes to draw parallels between those two situations they may continue to do so, however they will be pleasantly surprised when the exercises turn out to simply be exercises.

We hope that this will not be the response from the government of Slavorussia every time we hold military exercises in Novaya Zemlya. This will be the only government statement regarding Operation Avenging Angel. There will be no further dispatches or communiqués from the government of Vauleo-Buryatia regarding this exercise.”

"Wargames have become synoymous with planned attack in our dictionary. We caution Slavorussia to keep an eye out and wish Buryatia well in its wargames, that is, if they're actually wargames."

"Then perhaps it is time that your 'dictionary' be updated. Not every nation that conducts a military exercise is going to follow the path that occurred previously."

***Classified Military Moves***

In central Novaya Zemlya, work begins on five missile silos and an additional radar facility. The new silos would supplement the existing ones already on Novaya Zemlya as part of the Defense Initiative. Four nuclear capable ICBMs were readied for immediate transport to Novaya Zemlya once the first of the new silos was completed.

During the construction, Naval Personnel, in collaboration with the Central Novaya Zemlya Military base, began exercises to test the effectiveness of the SOSUS lines surrounding Novaya Zemlya.

"We wish Vauleo-Buryatia well in their military exercises, and I advise Slavorussia to be less paranoid. Troops on the border doesn't mean anyone plans to attack. We maintain a constant guard in the Trans-Caucasus Canal, that doesn't mean we're going to suddenly invade you."

"We can confirm this actually, we have held a fair share of war games with both the PRC and the Dragon Empire, and these were held at the borders between our countries on all occasions. Vauleo-Buryatia is as free to hold military exercises on their territory as Slavorussia is on theirs, and with the notice that all exercises would remain within their territory and waters we do not see why this should affect Slavorussia or disrupt regular shipping routes in any way."

We merely stated an Universal truth or does Promised Land oppose the sovereignty of nations to conduct actions within their own land?

Several things need to be said before we let this go. Firstly to Vauleo-Buryatia. Of course you have a right to conduct military exercises wherever you want, but we’ve noticed the obvious fact that your military exercises are surrounding Yacrania. Given the nature of the discussions we’ve had lately, and the history of military exercises being used as a front for invasions we hope you can see how this could be a matter of concern. Forgive us if we can’t take your word without a grain of salt.

Secondly to HRH King James I of Caucasia, your advice is noted, but we have a right to question this operation, because of the amount of military force being moved within 20-50km from our border, and protectorate.

And Finally to Zargathia. There’s not much of a correlation between Zargathia’s war games, and Vauleo-Buryatia’s war games. Please don’t take this the wrong way, but compared to your neighbors Zargathia isn’t much of military threat, whereas Vauleo-Buryatia can be a military threat to Slavorussia, if they wanted to.

The Kingdom of Cochin routinely conducts military exercises on large scales. Quite very recently we had conducted an international military exercise with the Southern Tang named Operation Brasstacks that involved wide ranging aerial and ground assaults. The exercises were conducted peacefully and we did not hear any complaints from our neighbors, the People's Republic of China, a nation with which we do not have cordial relations.

While we do understand the turbulent history of Slavorussia and recognize their genuine causes of worry, we believe they may be over reacting in this case. Vauleo-Buryatia has not exhibited any hostile posture towards Slavorussia, and thus it would be unworthy to cast aspirations on their well publicized and over exercises.

We hope Slavorussia would not escalate a simple domestic military exercises into an international incident.

You twist both ours and your own previous words. When the Commonwealth expressed an opinion, you decried them for 'interfering.' If there words were interference, then so too were yours.

THAT is the truth, like it or not.

Ah Promised Land and the infinite twisting words excuse, invent another one next time please this one is getting boring. However we will help you with understanding messages as your diplomats seem to need it.

This message shows a negative tone with references to past actions unrelated to Buryatia, should Buryatia have conducted such actions before it would be on its place but in this case with past actions having been conducted by Nordland it is not.

In contrast, this message voices no opposition to either Slavorussia or Buryatia but merely says it is within the sovereign right of a nation to do as they please within their own land. Something which can only be judged by their people. The last part is something we say to every stable government not an opinion but just a wish.

Does Promised Land understand the rules we teach to Imperial children attending elementary school now?
