Flag Runners You Suck

How to be a flag runner tutorial

A nation is called a Flag Runner when the following conditions apply:

1- Useless TE nation, escaping wars, switching alliances.

2- Useless TE nation, low casualties, no important wars to mention.

3- Useless TE nation, full of cash due to reasons 1 and 2, and when being attacked you just turtle or buy level 5 Aircrafts to save cash out of your +200M Warchest.

4- Useless TE nation, no special war activity.

5- Useless TE nation, pay bills, back collect, no war, repeat.

6- Useless TE nation aims for the Cash TE award and care about nothing else despite the fact that life is much important than doing this boring track every day.

All the above conditions are easy to be done. To be a flag runner just follow that order and youwill successfully reach your boring goal.

But to be the real flag runner nevermind this topic, go fight, build well and it's all yours.

Wass,

o/ Rangers

They'll usually end up getting a high casualty count as this usually goes hand in hand with high infra/soldier ground attacks and there are flags for kills so it's in their interest if their alliance gets the most. Even if they lose ground battles they only risk losing a drop in the bucket of their bank but it's important they preserve as much of their bank as possible for infra jumps and building a big enough bank so after their final collection, they can spend it to take a flag.

The fact these days they can pull 20 day back collects unchallenged is something that was very difficult to do only a year or two ago but then there was also a lot more competition. It's all within the rules and there will always be this form of game play so if others are interested, you'll either have to beat them at their own game or roll the crap out of them but this has to be done before they can secure a big enough bank that they use to bounce back as if little happened.

Unfortunately not many are capable of stalling or killing flag runners and i know a lot of our vets enjoy this hunt. But now our position on these types is neutrel, as they continue to jump from alliance to alliance hoping or succeeding to create grudges with collateral damage.

One of the distinct differences between the old school players and today's is the old schoolers could identify what they were doing and were dropped. It's one of the reasons why they change their names every round so they're difficult to pick out at first but they always reveal themselves as you only have to follow records for most earned.

I think i must edit this and start naming the things as they are, since people are getting confused between the flag runners.

The current public spotted(More nations saved) boring, lazy flag runners are:

Vladivostok http://tournament.cybernations.net/nation_drill_display.asp?Nation_ID=1000104

St Petersburg http://tournament.cybernations.net/nation_drill_display.asp?Nation_ID=1000109

Pegasus http://tournament.cybernations.net/nation_drill_display.asp?Nation_ID=1000117

So let's set up a multi alliance council, and if there is overwhelming evidence of a nation being a 'flag runner' we find them 'guilty'.

Every alliance should be invited, some won't join this initiative- but most will, and those participates will have a say- each alliance involved has one vote, majority decides the fate.

If found guilty, we purge the flag runner.

For boring nations, we certainly have captured your time and attention.

First of all, I'd like to address the comments about avoiding wars and taking advantage of inexperienced rulers. As one of the more experienced members in United Nations, I've reached out to the entire alliance, offering assistance with building and warring, as has Pegasus. Yes, I build well, and yes, I have won a lot of prizes, but more than that, I take pride in encouraging and teaching younger, and perhaps less skilled, nations in a game that is otherwise dying.

I find points 3-4 of your tutorial particularly ironic. This past war, you fought one of these supposed "flag runners," Pegasus. While he was supposedly turtling, he did 845 damage to your nation, compared to your 274. It seems that the "no special war activity" was on your end, not his. An even better example involves one of your alliance mates who is notorious for using the same tactics you've lamented in your post. http://tournament.cybernations.net/war_information.asp?ID=626 In this war, The Last Squirrel dealt a total of 75.72 damage. That's two cruise missiles. He did this even though he had a war chest of approximately 200 million. This is literally the paradigm for boring, turtling, and lazy. I'd suggest you add his link to your list lest you continue the special pleading and blatant hypocrisy. A side note of great irony: Your own alliance leader (who has since changed his name to Hired Gun) went all of round 32 without buying nukes, only bought navy on day 50, and chased the peak infrastructure prize, which he won with ease.

I have always found the negative connotation that "flag runner" has in this game to be a bit silly. Tournament Edition is a game with prizes. If you want to vilify past and present rulers who have played the game in pursuit of these prizes, that's fine with me. I hope to see you on the battlefield at some point so I can show off my special war activity.

Encouraging and teaching younger players is important indeed. This is what we have always been doing in Defcon 1, encouraging new nations to build well and fight well. And i recommend everyone to do the same.

FYI pegasus was buying level 5 Aircrafts. And FYI i was fighting 7 wars.

I believe that the prizes are awarded to the people who deserve it. If you deserve it then im happy for you, as long as the game play is clean.

I think the biggest problem isn't necessarily the flag runners, but the uncapped alliances. When you named off your list, they were all-but-one, sitting snuggled in a giant alliance.

I am still in full support of capping alliances at 12 nations. Enough for 2 trade circles and making wars around here a lot less of a headache to stack up.

Unless an alliance offers to host, I have created a distinct Discord for any Gov representatives in this endeavor: https://discord.gg/s9XTgeT

As LH stated, all alliance government members should and are invited. If you join please change your nickname to your Ruler Name in TE. It'll make masking you much easier :)

So currently only Wasso has decided to join in on this Discord... As I said in my post above, I'm absolutely in favor of this, and took the time to set it up so Government members can join and then we can discuss such matters. But for that to work there needs to be alliance governments present, or at the least designated representatives of said governments. I'll keep the server up for another day or two, but if no other groups show desire to pursue this idea I'll be deleting the server this weekend.

Once again, here's the link: http://discord.gg/s9XTgeT

Where do I begin, my lords and ladies? I'm a vile man, I confess it. My crimes and sins are beyond counting. I have lied and cheated. Gambled and whored. I'm not particularly good at violence, but I'm good at convincing others to do violence for me. You want specifics, I suppose. When I was seven, I saw a servant girl bathing in the river. I stole her robe. She was forced to return to the castle naked and in tears. If I close my eyes, I can still see her teats bouncing. When I was ten, I stuffed my uncle's boots with goat !@#$. When confronted with my crime, I blamed a squire. Poor boy was flogged and I escaped justice. When I was twelve, I milked my eel into a pot of turtle stew. I flogged the one-eyed snake. I skinned my sausage. I made the bald man cry! [makes masturbation gestures] Into the turtle stew, which I do believe my sister ate. At least I hope she did.

Flag runners updates

Seems there is an agreement going on between some of the rebels and UN-flag runners- nations, NOT to nuke any of the flag runners. Who seem to be fighting the same nations( if you know what i mean..)

They are barely fighting, slightly damaged, in 4 days of wars and yet not nuked.

Makes me wonder, is this game we all want to play?

All of those nations are giving and receiving damage and nukes... I'll compile those wars in specific for you later, but we can't help it that the UN is destroying Rebels.

LH I'll give you a nice breakdown in an hour or so after I can compile all the stats

St Petersburg is compiling a whopping 200 damage in 4 of his 5 upper tier wars.

In the same amount of time it's taken for UN and tR to inflict 60k damage to each other, RE and NDO had already inflicted 120k NS damage to D1... and there's 13 of us.

I made two call outs and both are correct:

1) before it even started I said it was a 'Patti cake' war and it's turning out to be one

2) I called you a weak leader and this is warranted considering you have no control over your apparent flag runners.

It's BS

Since when it is a crime to take minimal damage in a war? Also, how come you didn't include the 5th war? Is it because Das lost 3,300+ NS, therefor negating your ridiculous and insensate accusations?

Not only is there no evidence presented to back this claim up, but it's completely irrelevant. Are you trying to say we're holding back? If that's the case, take a look at all of the wars instead of cherry picking the few with little damage. Last time LS updated the stats, 2 days ago I believe, the NS damage was about 120k. I'm assuming that's nearly doubled now. LS should be updating the stats soon, so I'll know exact numbers shortly.
