If I were you, I would sign up on their forums and fill out their application if you have not done so already: https://cn.npowned.net/ They will ask you questions and you'll have to answer them. Otherwise, they will probably kick you off the alliance affiliation. With that being said, the way that trading works in CN is that there are a number of "trade sets." Sets of resources that will give you bonus resources and will have different effects depending on the set you have. So you don't want to just randomly trade with random people. It's far better to organize several nations into a trade circle to get the best benefits. If you join NPO, they should be able to arrange that for you.
