parekhmihir98
Hi everyone, I have just started Cyber Nations and I was wondering if anyone could send me some foreign aid just to get started and buy some land? Thanks
Gh0s7
You shouldn't buy past 100 land to start, 20 tech, and don't buy infra until you've paid bills for 20 days. Join an AA where they'll get you some tech deals, and read up on some guides.
parekhmihir98
I currently have 1.5 technology, 501 infrastructure and 27.258 miles. What is an AA?
Freelancer
What is an AA? Alliance Affiliation, depending on what alliance you join, will prevent Gh0s7 and his cohorts from teaching you the advanced functions of the war system up close and personal, then again choosing the wrong one could increase that chance 100 fold, so chose wisely. :p

Freelancer
An alliance. Lets not get to hasty, best business model .. without a doubt, ^^ parekhmihir98, this world is multi faceted based in game and out, joining The New Pacific Order you will undoubtedly become very accustom to building your nation the proper way, you'll be taught hands on from the gun how this world works, me I like to shop the local mom and pop shops and avoid the big box stores, it's all a matter of personal preference. If this is truly your first dive into CN, NPO is an excellent choice to get hands on one on one tutelage. Lulzist
Join an alliance. It's the most important thing you can do when you first start.
Caliph
Is Cyber Nations a game where you play it for 10/15 minutes a day? You can play Cyber nations for as little as under 1 minute per every 24 days if you would like. You won't get much out of it, but thats the bare minimum to be active. If you want to get involved I would suggest joining an alliance which can help teach you the best way to build your nation, teach you about the world here, and keep you engaged and as active as you want to be. There are different alliances geared towards different outlooks and different styles. Some alliances are more apt to war, others are more apt for peace. Others rarely fight wars, others fight in just about every big war. I'd suggest looking around and talk to different alliances to see where you would fit in best. YOLO SWAG
welcome to planet Bob! You're small and have very little to lose so spend some time shopping around for alliances and experiencing the joys of tech raiding if you're so inclined. Sigrun Vapneir
The AA part is really the key to the game, as completely un-obvious as that is made to the new ruler. Without an AA you are considered 'none' and can expect to be regularly attacked by, well, everyone else. If your attacker is from a true raider alliance they will only hit you lightly then offer peace, which can actually be a lot of fun but it's still taxing on your nationsince 'none' have become such a scarce resource in the wild so you are likely to be attacked not just once, but could actually develop a long que of nations waiting for their chance to joust you. Plus these days a lot of people claim to raid but they have no art, they just hit you as hard as they can over and over again. Two or three nations from the top of your range hitting you full force is usually not a fun introduction to the game. So existing as 'none' while certainly possible is something best done after you learn how to play and develop a more capable nation. Right now you need an AA if you want to build in relative peace. Even on an AA, if the AA does not look sufficiently 'legit' - either large and active enough to mobilize a crushing response, or allied to someone that is with some sort of treaty arranged, people will still raid you. Still, simply creating your own alliance is better than sitting where you are - just because you will no longer show on the 'none' filter so the laziest raiders will no longer see you to attack you. Better still is to join an existing AA that has either the bulk, the political connections, or both. You trade being constantly raided for being expected to fight when that AA gets into a war but alliance wars are still rare enough that that is a very beneficial trade. A lot of alliances talk about teaching you the game - personally I dont think that is so much of an advantage. In 2007, yes, if you wanted to learn CN you had to either figure it out yourself or join one of the alliances that knew what they were doing (and there were plenty to join that did not.) But today, there is not a whole lot you can't learn with a google search and a little time, without joining anyone. Certainly it helps to have some more advanced players to field a question now and then, but again you dont actually have to join an alliance to get that (although joining one of the better ones should make it easier.) You may find that the alliances that place more emphasis on teaching you the game actually mean micromanaging your nation from the back seat - telling you exactly what to buy and who to trade with and so forth. If they really know what they are doing you can build a nation this way very effectively if you are a good sub, but without actually knowing why you do these things you dont really learn anything. If you are fine with playing that way there are several large alliances that would be happy to have you. But if you prefer to be more independent it can be more difficult to find the right alliance. Gibsonator21
This is the first time I've opened one of these threads and it hasn't been showcasing the worst of the owf. Good job guys.
Walshington
If I were you, I'd join Kashmir. Medium sized alliance, you won't get lost in the shuffle or be a cog in some huge machine -- you will actually be in on every alliance discussion, if I recall correctly. No government only forums. You can raid there if that's your thing, but nobody makes you. They fight a war or two a year, which is good. They are active and will teach you the ropes. They expect you to be active, too, however. And, you can't just join -- you have to be accepted. You might find some of the same attributes in other mid-sized alliances, I just like those guys. Whatever you do, don't join the Screaming Red Asses -- I heard those guys will be defunct by July.
Luckao
Everybody should join me in the land of mediocrity. It's average.
