Imperator Azenquor
VNN News: Voters go to the polls as PM faces tough re-election bid "Citizens of the Serene Republic will once again head to the polls to elect the members of the 12th Parliament. Prime Minister Pavel Rokossovsky is standing for re-election at the helm of the United National Front (UNF) despite lackluster economic performance and poor approval ratings. The Prime Minister has also been heavily criticized for his failure to accomplish any meaningful economic or structural reforms during the last four years. The United National Front will face a strong challenge from an energized Slavic Unity Party (SUP) which has focused it's entire election campaign on delivering 'sustainable economic growth' over the next parliamentary term. Adding to the Prime Minister's woes, pre-election polls show record voter apathy and rising disapproval of the main political parties. In the East Ingushetia Autonomous Community (EIAC), voters will be asked to elect the members of the Regional Parliament under the terms of the new Sakha Agreement. Under the agreement, the constituency boundaries of the province have been redrawn and the regional government has been restructured to promote consensus between separatist and nationalist parties."
