Jackie Moon
(Something about the alliances we're fighting being bad and stuff.) Anyway, this was just something I have been thinking about for a while, trying to conceptualize what Planet Bob would look like in comparison to the earth. I finally got around to making a quick little infographic about how Planet Bob would stack up. I confronted a few confusing elements with the land calculations, so I made two versions of the thing. In the first, I assume that the 16 million miles of land would equate to "habitable" land on earth. In the second, I go on the assumption that the land measures diameter applied on a spherical surface, in which case things look drastically different. (In this second case, Cuba's nation alone would be 50 times the size of earth... ) #1 #2 In either case, all I know is that we've killed 250 times the amount of soldiers in our 9 short years here on planet bob than in all of armed conflict since WWII. Hostile doesn't even begin to describe the world we live in.
KahlanRahl
That's awesome. I love infographics. We need more of them here on Bob.
WarriorSoul
I've actually kinda thought about the same thing before. Cool stuff, DT. Edited January 11, 2015 by WarriorSoul
Mogar
to be fair, multiply the number of citizens by 10 or 100, its what we do in the RPs due to the low population counts.
Jackie Moon
to be fair, multiply the number of citizens by 10 or 100, its what we do in the RPs due to the low population counts. That was the other piece that stuck out to me. 32% of the citizens of planet bob are military. .0025% of the Earth's citizens are military.

Williambonney
I'd went with some kinda scorched surface for bob DT, but that's just my opinion anyway. Cool stuff though.

IYIyTh
Now we just need Morgan Freeman or Neil DeGrasse Tyson to narrate.
Lord Hershey
(In this second case, Cuba's nation alone would be 50 times the size of earth... ) This only further confirms my theory regarding CubaQuerida and the rest of his alliance:
The Zigur
This only further confirms my theory regarding CubaQuerida and the rest of his alliance: The second interpretation is so ridiculously lopsided next to population that only the first one makes any sense. Can you imagine the gravity problems on planet two? :psyduck:

kingzog
I think we're all overlooking the fact that radiation doesn't actually clear up in a few days, regardless of the kinds of 'bonus resources' a nation enjoys. (Never mind that in the real world you can't just "buy" soldiers when all of yours are killed.) Planet Bob would have become an unpopulated desert long ago. Maelstrom Vortex
That ain't Bob. It's blue and green. Bob should be a cratered ball with muddy oceans, little fauna, l with flames shooting out every few hundred feet from all the nuclear detonations. There also should be a large mountain near Francograd, in which my fat rump lives. Everyone who isn't a nuke eating dragon should be in radiation suits and breathing apparatus. Mr Vicarious
More interesting is the concept of the absolutely ridiculous gravitational situation in case 2. If Bob had the same density as Earth (which would mean Bob had to be composed of some crazy incompressible material), Bob would have >2.1E3 G. Also hilarious, is that a planet with this much mass has a Schwarzschild radius of 5.4E4 mi, meaning that we're not too far away from black hole territory at this mass and radius. If Bob were composed of normal earthly materials, our density would be significantly higher to support such large gravitation forces and it's likely we'd be right on the edge of being a black hole due to the compressibility of things like rock at these pressures./maybe this magical incompressible substance that Bob must be made of is why nukes don't damage it's surface at all.
