OOC: This is where my country's opposition party whines about how evil my leader is. Please note that while many of the posts here are public, you might not be able to see them right away, if at all. This would be because a good portion of them are not broadcast but handed out as pamphlets, in order to avoid government scrutiny. Also note that things announced here may not have actually happened. They are a political party. They can lie. Just use common sense and all that crap. Kudos to anyone who gets where the quote at the end came from.

IC:

"There comes a time for every tyrant to fall, for every army to break, for every prison to crumble. It is time that Belarus once again see the light of democracy shine over its lands. In order to further this goal, we, Charter 97, hereby declare our intent to oppose the dictator, "President" Lukachenko, by all peaceful means available. We declare our devotion to the principles of independence, freedom and democracy, respect to the human rights, solidarity with everybody, who stands for elimination of dictatorial regime and restoration of democracy in Belarus. We have spent so many years in darkness and oppression. We must once again see the sun. No dictator, no invader can hold an imprisoned population by force of arms forever. There is no greater power in this world than the need for freedom. Against that power, governments and tyrants and armies cannot stand. Though it may take a thousand years, we will be free."

"Belarus has truly ceased to exist as a country. It has now become a massive corporation, with the government now a board of directors, and the President a CEO. This government only sees things in terms of its profit margin. It refuses to look at the needs of its people, treating them as lowly employees that can be fired and hired whenever it wishes. Only a few weeks ago, this so-called government began a systematic process to crush any who dare to speak out against their filthy products.

For almost a month now, government censorship has strangled independent media, prevented the free flow of information, and made state-owned propaganda channels the only source of news available to the people. We urge the people of Belarus to fight against this attack on the few liberties we have left. Help fund independent news sources, help the flow of information, and most importantly, do not believe the government's propaganda."

"Our so-called "government" may have succeeded into turning the country into its own little business, but it is a failing business. Our economic growth has slowly slowed down, thanks to the President's constant warmongering. Our men have been sent of to fight in the equivalent of a colonial war for another country. Who is to tend the fields and run the businesses while they are off getting killed in a fight that should not be ours? The state's constant refusal to allow independent economic activity is also stifling us. The government fears to lose even the smallest amount of control over its citizens lives, and that fear drives it to measures that would drive us into the ground.

For us, there is only one option left: Strike. Show those in power that we are not willing to be a part of their machines, and that we will throw ourselves onto their machines' gears until we are freed. Show them by cutting into their purses. Refuse to work for their tyrannical factories. Show them that we have a free will, and that we are willing to use it."

Only handful of copies of this particular leaflet would ever see the light of day. As soon as its material became known to the government, the KGB would swiftly crack down on the producers, and put them out of business. Permanently.

"Our "government" is not known for its benevolence towards those who serve it. This is clearly the most apparent in its treatment of the reservists it sends to fight and die for it in its wars. According to latest reports, the military utilizes a draconian, Soviet style policy, with deserters and rule-breakers being brutally punished. Additionally, the government pays reservists who are called up for duty a minimal wage, instead giving most of the cash to its professional soldiers and officers. It can only be hoped that those who have been sent to fight will realize that they are being mistreated and take the necessary actions to correct this tyranny."

"As many have no doubt heard, the government has proudly announced that its security systems had successfully stopped a gunman who had attempted to attack government buildings in Minsk. While is is all well and good, so many people have failed to ask the critical question: What was a KGB sniper doing in an apartment building? This should not be seen as a sign of a government victory against anarchy, but as another sign of state-sponsored repression and paranoia. After all, what sort of government stashes snipers in civilian areas well outside of any conflict zone?"

  • 2 weeks later...

"The Belorussian government has done a brilliant job of trumpeting its annexations in Poland. State owned media runs broadcast after broadcast on how the acquisition of Polish territories will bolster the economy and brign much needed resources to the state.

However, so many people have failed to ask how Lukachenko and his cronies gained control of Poland. Through interviews with a number of former Polish military and government officials, we have come to the conclusion that the Belorussian takeover of Poland was not, as the government has said, a mission to destroy terrorist groups, but in fact a blatant military invasion.

As a Polish SAM operator(who, for obvious reasons, shall go unnamed) told us "When we heard that the Polish government had fallen, we were told by our officers to remain put, and that the military was working to maintain order, and that Alvonian troops were preparing to help us restore the government. Things were getting quite disorganized, but we held to our posts. A couple days after the collapse, several unidentified fighters, which I now know to be Belorussian MiG-29s, attacked and destroyed our radars with their missiles. I tried to get in tough with a nearby military base, and was told that Belorussian troops had launched an invasion and were advancing towards Warsaw. I never believed many of the accusations the nationalist parties threw at Belarus, but now I know them to be true. They had been planning to invade and subjugate us."

As we can see here, the Polish government had been working to regroup and was receiving assistance from Alvonia. This leaves us with the question: Where were Lukachenko's fictional terrorists?
