Reform Proposal: Get rid of Inactivity

This is a CNRP discussion!

As our 25-day inactivity system is based on ingame inactivity, but the inactivity system was changed a few months ago, I propose we follow suit. Just like in-game, a nation that is above 25 days will be locked automatically, until the person RPing it returns from inactivity. Instead of just getting wiped.

What are the issues solved this way?

  • Far greater nation retention rate. No longer will we lose nations to inactivity.
  • People can take extented leaves, then pick up where they left off. While normally that may pose issues, not like anything is happening in the meanwhile anyway.
  • People no longer need to post every 25th day their posts to save their country from falling apart. It will stay, even without a completely unnecessary paragraph of text that doesn't contribute to the RP in any way whatsoever.
  • We won't have people sitting around desperately hoping for inactivity of others anymore, to gain their land. These can just give up and go home.
  • Far less map work! Not like inactive nations would get removed from the map anyway.

This has potential to solve so many issues, it should be a no-brainer...

What about if I want land that gets locked automatically, it is going to make me even less likely to rejoin if there is no chance whatsoever of me getting the land I want.

Any answer you could cook up for yourself has about as much explanatory value as what I could reply to this.

Now, for anyone who isn't Mogar, and doesn't want Japan as him, I'd recommend writing a message to the resident landhoglord and to ask politely. Then hope they reply.

Or join me and Melech on Pasirung, the continent with the most active neighbourhood in the RP...

Yeah, if we have a bunch of nations locked and thereby holding onto land which we can do nothing about... What if locked nations were coloured white on the map and people would be able to take the land from them? Not sure how much would be deemed "reasonable", but at least then the land wouldn't be wasted. The locked nation could get back whatever's left when they return.

I would be all for a limited lock period. I mean, there can be people who join for one post, get bored, and leave never intending to come back. Perhaps if we have an additional 20 or 25 days of lock before they either get wiped, or as Horo suggested, become free game for scavengers.

CNRP is dead. Get over it.

Someone sounds bitter. Did CNRP touch you in your naughty place?

On inactivity: I don't think we want people sitting around inactive forever. If anything we should shorten the inactivity period. Edited by Justinian the Mighty

Well, but basically, we have that. People sitting around, inactive forever. It is why I posted the matter. Obviously, not any person in their right mind would loosen the inactivity rules further, when they already are permitting of the current state.

There's a couple nations that don't post every 20-25 days, the rest is not really creating much of anything. I personally posted this, after reading once more a person evading their death through basically meaningless text, which is technically legal, but really shouldn't be practiced on the scale we see here.
