Declaration of Destruction

Recommended Posts

It's been over a year since TSO and TOoTR became the entity that we are today. So consider this a belated birthday party for us.

Since the start we've tried a triumvirate structure and came to the conclusion that it sucked balls, so we gave democracy a chance and learned that our members wanted something else. They want the simplicity of a single person leading them. We also learned that people wanted to get out of unemployment line and get to work. So we created some jobs and hired a set of people who really want to work. Let's just say our economy is getting better and our citizens are getting off welfare. We'll be setting up our own version of ObamaCare and make everyone pay for our benefits.

Also, below you'll see our new and improved charter. Under that you'll see a list of titles with names next to them. You'll also see a familiar face that kicked his Geritol addiction. Rumor has it that Bassman has been doing cannonballs into the Lazarus Pool. We almost didn't recognize his old ass when he showed up ready to work. It was like looking at a nine year old kid with facial hair. He's been completely rejuvenated and has plans on staying young. Consider you warned, so hide your womenfolk.

Charter of the Disciples of Destruction

Preamble;
We, the Disciples of Destruction, in order to further the interests of brotherhood, cooperation, and strength, in the name of a relationship forged by blood and steel, do join and establish this charter and solemnly swear to uphold the articles herein.

I. Origin and Purpose
This alliance has materialized on the face of Bob as the purest incarnation of a universal will to destruction; to make Bob bathe in the glory of struggle and adversity; to establish a society, a brotherhood of disciples in recognition of the bond that exists between man and his eternal will to destroy.

It is there where our true purpose may be found, to be both in physical and spiritual opposition to the futility of constructing what cannot last; to bring salvation through the destruction of that what is futile, and to offer redemption through our disciples to those who will atone for their mistakes.

II. Admission
The Disciples welcome to their ranks people from all walks of life and will recognize the virtues in individuals and take notice of personal merit without making distinction between people and groups of people based on such things as nationality, race or creed.

As such, any interested nation may apply for membership of the Disciples of Destruction by following the admission process set by the government of the Disciples, and complete this process in order to become a full member. However, completion of the process does not guarantee membership.

III. Order of Government
A. Prophet
Supreme authority over the alliance shall be vested in the office of Prophet subject to limitations contained in this Charter. It shall pertain to the Prophet to issue legislative measures, create and appoint to offices, assign duties, promulgate government acts, ratify international agreements, preside over his government, and to see to the general government of the alliance.

In the absence of the Prophet the Senior Minister, to be appointed by the Prophet, will assume the duties of Prophet until such time the Prophet returns. In the case of permanent incapacity, retirement or impeachment the Senior Minister will become Prophet ad interim until the a replacement has been chosen by the Council. Permanent incapacity or impeachment will be declared by the Council, for which a two thirds majority shall be required.

B. The Blessed
The Blessed are a body of 7 members elected by the general membership for a period of three months to sit on the council. Like any member, the Blessed may be appointed by the Prophet to serve in the Prophet's government.

Elections for the position of Blessed will take place four times a year, once every three months, and will last twelve days of which four will be reserved for nominations and seconds, four for campaigning and questioning, and four for the voting period. Any member may self-nominate or be nominated as a candidate; however nominations must be personally accepted by the member; and each member will be allowed to cast a number of votes equal to the number of seats.

C. The Prophet's Government
In accordance with his authority the Prophet may appoint Ministers and supporting staff from among the Blessed and general membership to assist him as chief administrators in governing the alliance, and to take responsibility of the branches of government.

Each Minister serves at the discretion of the Prophet, and may be appointed or removed by the Prophet at will. The Blessed may exercise their exclusive voting power on the Council to remove a Minister in the case of incapacity, incompetence, misconduct or absence of the Minister. Such removal shall require a simple majority vote. In the event the Blessed seek to remove a Minister who also serves as Blessed, the interested Blessed/Minister's vote shall not be counted.

D. Council of the Disciples
The Council of the Disciples is primarily a consultative body and only in exceptional circumstances a decision-making body; consisting of the Ministers and Blessed of the Disciples, and presided over by the Prophet. As a consultative body the Council provides practical ideas and structures for the alliance, discussing the political, legislative and diplomatic policies of the alliance, to ensure internal effectiveness and international standing of the Disciples.

The Blessed shall have exclusive voting power on the Council and shall decide on; impeachment of the Prophet, removal of a Minister, appointment of the Prophet, charter amendments, declaring wars, signing and canceling treaties, disciplining members, and mergers and disbandment. In the aforementioned instances the outcome of the council vote will be determined by a simple majority of the Blessed, with the exception of impeachment of the Prophet which will require a two-thirds supermajority. A decision will only be binding if at least two thirds of the Blessed have voted. In all other affairs concerning matters regulated neither by the charter nor by any policy it pertains to the authority of the Prophet.

The prophet shall have no vote in the council, but has the right to veto any Council decision passed by less than two-thirds supermajority Blessed vote. The Council may veto any decision made by the Prophet via an unanimous Blessed vote.

IV. Ratification & Amendments
A. Let it be known that as a disciple you shall renounce your own wills, and promise to despise the world that is whole in perpetual love for destruction, and scorn the temptations of individual thought, sustained by the brotherhood between your fellow disciples, instructed by the commandments of the Ministers; shan't fail to serve our mission, nor fear to suffer if you henceforth submit yourself to this charter. Violation of this document by any member shall result in severe punishment.

B. All provisions of this Charter shall be interpreted using the doctrine of original intent. In the event of a dispute over the meaning and scope of a particular provision, the Council shall resolve such dispute by considering the legislative intent of the Council at the time the provision was enacted. The Council shall resolve the dispute by majority vote, should it determine the evidence is insufficient to prove legislative intent.

C. This charter, and all future amendments to it, signed by the Blessed, will become binding after promulgation by the Prophet.

Thank you all.

WHOOT! WHOOT! I'm still in gov, somehow and now I know what I'm doing again.

Needs more Lew! Still, pretty neat.

Always!  He did write this so you can consider this to really be a takeover by Lew.  I'm sure this had nothing to do with the rumor I hear that Bassman had past away of old age and then suddenly he's back to life and younger.
