The Aurum-Argentum Standard

 

We are The Aurum-Argentum Standard, an alliance that promotes member equality.

But before we go into that, you must be wondering what Aurum and Argentum are.

Aurum is the Latin word for gold, and is why gold's chemical symbol is Au.

Argentum is, similarly, Latin for silver and the the reason its chemical symbol is Ag.

 

Equality

TA/AS strives for member equality by giving regular members seats in the government.

"Why?" and "How?" are some questions that probably come to mind when I say that. A set of 5 members is randomly picked from the member pool and put in the "General Assembly" or "Assembly" for short. Then they, in turn, select 5 members to become Directors.

To compare it to the USA government:

Assembly - Legislative/Judicial Branch

Directors - Cabinet Members

"But what about the Executive Branch?" is the next logical question.

The position of the Exec. Branch is filled by the Triumvirate, a group of 3 permanent members, who have little power besides keeping the Assembly and Directors in check.

Now, to go into more detail about what each group does.

 

Triumvirate

The three leaders of the alliance, or Triumvirate, do almost nothing besides officially declare war, keep the system balanced, and pose for pictures. The are chosen by the founder, me, and cannot change unless the Assembly and Directors unanimously vote to change one, but a max of two can be changed at a time. The Triumvirate can block rules/policies from being passed by the Assembly with a 2/3 vote, impeach an Assembly member by a unanimous vote, block a Director appointment with 2/3 vote, and speak for the alliance.

 

General Assembly

The General Assembly passes rules/policies for the alliance with a majority vote, appoints Directors, declares war with a 4/5 vote or higher, and can reverse a Director's action with a majority vote. General Assembly member's terms are 2 weeks, and to be selected for an Assembly position, you must be 3 days old in both the Alliance and your nation.

 

Directors

Directors run the alliance basically. They oversee almost everything, and are responsible for most areas. They are appointed by the Assembly, but to be appointed they must be at least 3 days old in both the Alliance and their nation. Director terms are 4 weeks.

There are Directors for:

Director Of Foreign Affairs

Director of Revenue and Trades

Director of Security

Director of Media Coverage

Director of Internal Affairs

 

 

And that is how the government currently works. It will be implemented when we have 20+ members. Until then, 2 Triumvir will be making all of the decisions.

At this time, we do not have a formal constitution, charter, compact, compromise, treaty or documentation of agreement.
