Evangeline Anovilis
Maria looked at Finn surprised. "Well, you might have read the note. Sweden has voiced its position and I doubt we need them here, lest we want also the British demand a place in this illustrous round and god knows whom else. If you feel not competent enough to argue a point on your own... Anyway, what is the opinion of the Cisalpine Republic, if one may ask?" Rudolph
Private Dragojev raised his hand once more, hoping to steer the conversation back to where it should be. "Having heard the note from the Swedish Monarch, I do believe it's prudent to move forward and discuss the proposal set by Signore Oberti." Aggressivenutmeg
"I am afraid that I cannot offer any guarantees to the region in question. The Senate has already voted on offering annexation to the Italian speaking regions of Helvetica and the historically Italian regions of Savoy and Nice. The current plan for the majority of the region is for it to maintain a fully autonomous regional government which may either choose to rejoin France or form it's own nation." Hereno
[Private]Not a party to the negotiations, but seeing the Swedes standing down, the government of Saxony was in an interesting position. On one hand, they wished for better relations between all three of the German states, but on the other, their allies in Hungary were staunchly opposed to the Alvonian intervention. The Alvonians, already beaten handily, would surely lose more territory if they were to push things to the point of war, and so the Saxon government saw their intervention in the Italian affairs in behalf of the French as a possibility of losing German lands to non-German powers. At the same time, however, the Saxons could not stand for the French to gain any parts of German-speaking Switzerland, and were also against the strengthening of their second-strongest non-allied bordering nation, who had already shown German territorial ambitions through their annexation of the Saarland which the Saxons now bordered. While it would not be possible for the Saxons to take back these German lands due to political considerations, it would be possible for them to prevent the seizure of any more German-speaking lands by France or other non-German powers. And through the piloting of their new President, they were in a perfect position to make this happen.[Private - Military]80,000 Saxon active-duty soldiers would be placed in on-guard positions near the Alvonian-controlled Czech lands, while another 40,000 would be placed near the French border. 80,000 more troops were placed between them in strategic points, and all of the soldiers were backed with artillery, air defense & support, as well as comprehensive strategic plans for an invasion and capture of strategic positions. Of particular interest to the Saxon government was the Czech lands which could, along with a Hungarian seizure of Moravia, provide a border between Saxony and Hungary-Slovakia, a stalwart Saxon ally. However, the purpose was not to actually invade, but merely to position themselves to seize the Czech lands and sack the Alvonian capital in the Austrian regions if they were so stupid as to fire the first shots and prove themselves inadequate defenders of the long-standing German military tradition.[Public]President Beatrix Meissner released a statement to the press earlier today with the Saxon position on the situation in Europe."We hereby guarantee the independence of the Swiss territories against invasion by any of their bordering powers, including the Alvonians, French, and Cisalpines. We feel that a democratic election with multiple nations monitoring the elections are the only way to properly allow the Swiss to choose their path in Europe properly. We also warn the Alvonians that any declaration of war against the Cisalpines citing any seizure of French or Italian-speaking formerly-French lands, including the Savoy region, will prompt a Saxon invasion in support of its ally Hungary-Slovakia. While we understand your alliance with the French precludes you from supporting the Cisalpines, we do not feel it gives you the right to defend these lands given the absence of a French defense, especially given your recent invasion of what now constitute our territories. You were put down by the eastern bloc once and should have learned your lesson then. We will not hesitate to teach you a second time." Euphaia
Not Public The Hungary-Slovakian Minister of Defense would pre-authorize Belarus to move forces through Hungary-Slovakia should they wish. He would also place all 500,000+ Hungarian soldiers, air units, and armor units on stand-by orders, in case hostilities started. 125,000 of the soldiers would be deployed to the Hungary-Alvonoa and Hungary-Czech border, with the rest in reserve on stand-by for now. DEFCON would be brought from 3 to 2. Edited August 31, 2014 by Euphaia

Eighth, Tenth, Eleventh, and Thirteenth Land Divisions First Ballistic Missile Division Eight, Tenth, Eleventh Air units 57,000 reservists The ballistic missile launchers would maintain a distance of 100km from the Alvonian border. The rest of the troops would set themselves up near the border, in case certain fourth reich wannabes caused trouble. On a somewhat related note, the Hungarian beer industry would receive a huge jump in profits, although some areas would experience chronic shortages of alcohol. Evangeline Anovilis
A public statement would be made, in regards to the recent developments. "Romania reiterates its position that any attack on the Cisalpine Republic will not be tolerated, be it by Alvonia, by France or by Saxony. The matter is being discussed and we are seeking a diplomatic solution with both parties immediatly involved in the conflict.
