In the light of the situation, we additionally extent an offer of stationing temporarily a Romanian Expeditionary Corp in your country as an additional reassurance and support to your defense, should you deem such prudent. The duties of law enforcement are to be handed over to the newly formed cantonal police forces. Every Canton has received funding from the Cisalpine government to arm and train a police force of locals to carryout the tasks previously filled by the occupation forces. The hand over from military forces to lolcal police also marks the end of martial law in the Protectorate and a return to civility. Bologna - Three soldiers who had been accused of the Niçard Citizens Council of each causing the deaths of Nicard citizens during the recent civil disturbances in Nice has been convicted by a military tribunal of wrongful death and have received sentences of five, six, and ten years in prison. Two other soldiers were brought to trial, but they were cleared of any wrong doing and their chargers were dropped. The news of the dismissal of the two cases sparked outrage and angry protests in Nice. Aggressivenutmeg Posted October 9, 2014 Author Report Share Posted October 9, 2014 [Classified] The Directorate has given the go-ahead for the complete replacement of the Eurofighter Typhoon fleet to be replaced with a domestic version of the JAS 39 Gripen fighter aircraft. The factories that manufactured the Typhoons and the spare parts for the Typhoons were destroyed during the nuclear war waged against Milan. The same motion passed by the Directorate also released funds to begin purchasing a fleet of unmanned aerial vehicles for medium and long range reconnaissance, as well as combat. The mountain passes would be occupied and prepared with trenches, barbed wire, machine guns, artillery, anti-aircraft weapons and light anti-tank weapons. Road and rail tunnels dug under the alps would be re-wired with explosives and prepared for demolition. All Cisalpine troops stationed in Savoy would be withdrawn to Italy proper and sent to the border with Sud-Tyrol/Trentino. Two armoured and two mechanised divisions, together with one motorised brigade, would be stationed on the South side over the north side of the lower Po River, near Manuta. A mass rally was held in favour of a 'No' vote, which marched through downtown Nice. Several scuffles with supporters of annexation broke out, but were quickly quelled by military personnel. Organisers of the 'Yes' campaign have vowed to hold a similar demonstration tomorrow, the last chance wither campaign has of convincing undecided voters. Lugano - While tensions flair in the Nicean protectorate, the Italian regions of Helvetica have seen an almost invisible campaign. Hosting only two live television debates and a few ad campaigns, it is the general expectation that the 'Yes' vote will win by a land slide. Early attempts for the 'No' campaign to get off the ground with public rallies fell flat, as few people were willing to support a campaign for Independence. Analysts say that the regions linguistic and cultural ties to northern Italy, are making it a clear win for unity. Monaco - The ancient principality of Monaco was today granted it's independence by the Senate. After lobbying members of the directory, the royal family of Monaco - House of Grimaldi - is to be reinstated as the countries hereditary monarchs and heads of state. The country will be governed by the appointed Council of State. Officially Monaco will be a sovereign nation, but all matters of foreign affairs and defence will remain in the hands of the Cisalpine Republic.
