The central government has a strong executive core (National Soviet, Politburo), with a unicameral legislature (National Congress), and a judicial branch (the People's National Court). The National Soviet is a committee of three Premiers, each one elected by and representing one of the three Republics. These Premiers act as a triumvirate president, voting on issues. These are culturally regarded as the highest political positions in Amur. The Politburo is the cabinet of the National Soviet, presiding over offices involving defense, foreign affairs, internal affairs, etc. The National Congress is a unicameral legislature that handles responsibilities such as creation of new laws (which must pass through the National Soviet) and domestic policy votes. The People's National Court handles interpretations on laws and high level cases in Amur. This gives the Soviet of Defense authority over the Amur Defense Force (ADF), with a subcommittee governing national police forces. The Soviet of Defense is led by General Kong Zhao, Supreme Commander of the Amur Defense Force. The Premiers hold status as Co-Commanders-in-Chief, however.
