OOC: We can RP the meeting here, tis what the thread is for unless you feel a new thread is necessary. ^_^ When Bafokeng arrived in the capital, she would be greeted with full military honours and a heavily armed escort to the Imperial Palace before being escorted into a large marble room. At one end of the room sat a desk with Ishtar Kuna sat behind it. Standing, Ishtar approched Minister Bafokeng before bowing slightly and introducing herself. "Greetings Minister Bafokeng, I am Ishtar Kuna, deputy Foreign Minister of New Babylon, welcome to the imperial capital. Please take a seat and let us begin." Once the Minister had sat down, Ishtar would move to her own seat and begin speaking. "The Empire has nearly zero relations with African states with the exception of Alexandria, which is a relationship born out of requirement, not choice. Whilst we enjoy our relationship with Alexandria and find ourselves in a military alliance with them, in a large war, they are simply too small of a fish to swim in what would be an open ocean. With that in mind however, we do wish to expand our dilomatic tendrils forgive the terminology into Africa after expanding significantly diplomatically into Europe." Ms. Bafokeng thanked Minister Kuna for the warm welcome and quickly took a seat. She would listen carefully as her Babylonian counterpart spoke, nodding slightly as she did so. "Well, I certainly don't see my own country as, as you might say, a big fish. Our military is young, and dwarfed by the power of other nations. We have no navy to speak of, and negotiations with the KwiZulu-Natal province, which would provide us with the port of Durban, are still underway. However, we do hold vast economic potential; the territory into which we are expanding, the Free State province, produced 30% of the world's gold prior to the collapse. So while Lesotho may not be able to provide a strong military partner, I am sure that an economic agreement can be found."

But that said, if you are not applicable to a military alliance, the Empire can certainly work with an economic agreement."

"Now, this is where it gets marginally more complicated. The African League requires that our nation not offer individual economic agreements. However, we can certainly vote in your favor if Babylon chooses to approach the AL as a whole. After all, having a larger market would be good for Lesotho, and I can't imagine it would hurt Africa to have access to fine Babylonian products." Once there is an economic director, I would be happy to ask them to invite Babylon to the Grand Council for negotiation of a treaty. I am sorry that I couldn't be more directly helpful with this, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs doesn't always get all of the details as fast as we would like from other branches." We would be interested in discussing economic cooperation and the possibility of a strategic military alliance. Signed, Imperial Ministry of Foreign Affairs The Ministry of Foreign Affairs would be happy to host a meeting here in the capital. However, we must inform the Persian Empire that any economic pact would have to be done through the African League, and that Lesotho's military is currently not capable of action outside of Southern Africa. If a meeting is still wanted, we will clear some time for one on the Minister's scheduale.
Uberstein
To: FUSAR From: Landfall Regarding: Helicopters The government of Landfall wishes to investigate the possiblity of purchasing 10 or more helicopters from the your government. We seek six transport helicopters and four more helicopters specialized for Maratime Search and Rescue duties. We also wish to purchase five to eight freighters that have the ability to pass through the Kiel Canal. Is it possible we can conduct business? - Prime Minister Degrasse Private to Landfall 10 Atlas Oryx helicopters, six in standard, unarmed, configuration and four in Search and Rescue configurations, for a total price of 150 million Rands. This would include a two year warranty and part replacement contract. Eight cargo freighters may also be provided at 150 million Rands per ship, which would allow construction of ships similar to the "Ever Leader," which would both be capable of carrying significant cargo and fitting in the canal. Captain Enema
"Perhaps you have an account number I can use to begin payment? If possible, could Landfall pay the amount owed over the course of five years?" - Degrasse Edited September 1, 2014 by Tidy Bowl Man
Uberstein
Private An account number would be provided to Landfall, as well as a contract for a 5-year annual-payment plan. Soon enough, the shipment of helicopters would be sent, and construction of the 8 container ships would begin, slated to be complete by the end of the coming year. ((October 1st by my timescale.)) Uberstein
The Federal Union of Southern African Republics takes this moment of increased global insecurity to remind the world of it's security policy on national waters. Please contact the Ministry of Foreign Affairs ((Post in this thread)) should temporary exceptions to this policy be desired; negotiation is always possible, should one have a reasonable case.
