bones wizard
PUBLIC INFORMATION Today, President George Heller was inaugurated as the 1st President of the new United States of America. Parts of his address are as follows: "The United States has fallen victim to partisan quarrels and has failed to act accordingly to ensure America's citizens had the necessary transportation and infrastructure to promote jobs and stimulate the economy. As your President I will make it my mission to ensure America is strong internally before turning to foreign affairs." "This great Nation will endure as it has endured, will revive and will prosper." " We know what works: Freedom works. We know what's right: Freedom is right. We know how to secure a more just and prosperous life for man on Earth: through free markets, free speech, free elections, and the exercise of free will unhampered by the state." "America today is a proud, free nation, decent and civil, a place we cannot help but love. We know in our hearts, not loudly and proudly, but as a simple fact, that this country has meaning beyond what we see, and that our strength is a force for good. But have we changed as a nation even in our time? Are we enthralled with material things, less appreciative of the nobility of work and sacrifice?" "America is never wholly herself unless she is engaged in high moral principle." "There are few clear areas in which we as a society must rise up united and express our intolerance. The most obvious now is the imperialistic threat to global peace and security." "Heavenly Father, we bow our heads and thank You for Your love. Accept our thanks for the peace that yields this day and the shared faith that makes its continuance likely. Make us strong to do Your work, willing to heed and hear Your will, and write on our hearts these words: "Use power to help people." For we are given power not to advance our own purposes, nor to make a great show in the world, nor a name. There is but one just use of power, and it is to serve people. Help us to remember it, Lord. Amen." "Thank you. God bless you and God bless the United States of America."

The MEB, which varies in size, is capable of conducting missions across the full range of military operations. It is constructed around a reinforced infantry regiment designated as a regimental combat team (RCT), a composite Marine aircraft group, and a combat logistics regiment (CLR), formerly known as a brigade service support group, all commanded by a battalion-sized command element designated as a MEB headquarters group. The MEB, commanded by a general officer (either a Major General or a Brigadier General), is task-organized to meet the requirements of a specific situation. bones wizard
PUBLIC INFORMATION Senators weigh tax 'holiday' to help fund highway repairs Top Senate Democrats and Republicans said they were considering offering American companies a one-time tax break if they repatriate profits stashed abroad. The senators anticipate the proposal would generate a windfall in revenue that would be used to fund federal transportation projects. U.S. Senate Minority Leader Dillon Elward told reporters in the Capitol that Republicans had discussed a corporate tax repatriation "holiday" idea and "it enjoys a good deal of support in our conference." Republican Senator August Gull has talked with Democratic Senate Majority Leader Sarah Truman about legislation for a repatriation holiday. The plan would give companies a one-time reduction in the amount of taxes they pay on profits earned abroad, giving them an incentive to repatriate those earnings. Supporters say that could generate a revenue windfall to bolster the federal Highway Trust Fund, used for construction and repair projects. The fund is expected to run out of funds by the end of this year. While emphasizing that a repatriation holiday is still far from becoming legislation, the Senate's top tax writer said it could be used as a way to replenish the looming shortfall in the highway fund. bones wizard
PUBLIC INFORMATION The Federal Reintegration Commission (FRIC) has conducted a general referendum in the states of Florida, Alabama, and Mississippi to see if the general populace would be willing to re-enter the union. Special care was given to ensure voter fraud and corruption did not disrupt this process. Under the conditions of re-entering were the immediate elections for governor and general assembly, restoration of the states' national guard, ratify the Constitution of the United States of America, and take an oath of allegiance to the United States. Three options were given, 1. Join the United States; 2. Join the United States as a protectorate; 3. Remain independent of the United States. The states that either become a full state in the union or as a protectorate receive large infrastructure and transportation grants, along with additional funding for various projects. It also allows businesses in those states free access to American economic institutions and opportunities. The results are as follows: Florida Option 1: 60% Option 2: 20% Option 3: 10% Alabama Option 1: 56% Option 2: 24% Option 3: 20% Mississippi Option 1: 53% Option 2: 27% Option 3: 20% All three states are now in union with the USA. mona lisa
PUBLIC INFORMATION Secretary of Defense Keven Reese has been confirmed as Secretary of Defense. A divided Senate finally confirmed Reese as Secretary of Defense, handing President George Heller a victory on one of his key Cabinet appointments after weeks of partisan rancor. The former Democratic senator from New Jersey, who is expected to be sworn in tomorrow, will take the reins at the Pentagon as America begins to set a foot in foreign relations and military force in protecting North America. His confirmation, approved 58-4, required only a simple majority after the Senate voted 71-27 earlier in the day to end debate. Four Democrats joined Republicans in confirming Reese. Hagel needed at least 60 votes to clear the day’s earlier procedural hurdle, in which 53 Republicans joined 18 Democrats to end debate. As the vote approached after Democrats blocked the first nearly two weeks ago, Senate Majority Leader Bob Conor bemoaned all the delays, arguing Democrats had accomplished nothing. Still, even as they approached the vote they knew they’d lose, key Democrats stuck by their opposition. Sen. Jim Charles of New York, the ranking Democrat on the Senate Armed Services Committee, said he’d prefer either a retired commissioned officer or a person who has personally worked in the Department of Defense. While he did not get what he wanted, President Heller now has one of the most respected people in the Republican party as his top military advisor. bones wizard
PUBLIC INFORMATION Florida Secretary of the Interior Vicente Ferrar has announced that a grant for $15.7 million has been awarded to Miami International Airport and Orlando International Airport. The money is made up of two grants, and will allow the airports to make key improvements to its runways, while providing additional emergency response assets. Funding will also be used to strengthen the gateway’s military partnerships with the Navy and Air Force. Secretary Ferrar, explains: “These airports are critical to south-central Florida’s economy. These grants will help make key improvements at the airports to keep passengers safe. It will also strengthen the partnership between civil aviation and area military installations stationed in Florida. Construction on this project will begin next year, and the grants will go towards new runways, purchase of aircraft rescue and fire fighting vehicles to assist in emergency response, and improvements to passenger terminals. This two airport project will greatly increase tourism in those cities, as well as promote commerce through Florida. Alabama The U.S. Department of Finance and Trade announced the first 12 communities that will be specially designated as so-called manufacturing communities, naming the southwest Alabama region among them. The government-backed initiative known as the Investing in Manufacturing Communities Partnership attracted some 70 applicants from cities, universities and local development agencies across the U.S. Several federal agencies took part in a similar program that awarded $7 million in grants to support long term economic development last month. In an attempt to replicate the effort, the Heller administration launched a national program to put a focus on sustaining the country's manufacturing sector. But they had to move fast to make the mid-April deadline. A number of agencies got involved, including USA and the Mobile Area Chamber of Commerce. They had to show how many manufacturers were already in the area and draw a blueprint for areas where more investments could be made to support more. The southwest Alabama region stands to gain plenty. The plan would place a number of grant opportunities at arm's length for the region to support the economic development strategy put forth in the application. The immediate pay-off is the marketing that comes with the recognition. They will also receive a dedicated federal liaison to help them contend for about $1.3 billion worth of funds. Mississippi Governor Jason Tyrone is calling for a comprehensive approach to making the Mississippi River more sustainable. He made the statements today alongside government and environmental leaders in Washington for the Big River Works forum dedicated to the future of the Mississippi. Tyrone says the best way to enhance sustainability is to build on existing public-private partnerships and develop a multi-state structure that allows for integration of the river's users. The Big River Works Initiative looks to create a cooperative path forward for Mississippi watershed sustainability.
mona lisa
CLASSIFIED MILITARY ACTIONS Trident Air Defense System TADS is a mobile Air and Missile Defense System that is easily transportable, tactically mobile and uses the hit-to-kill PAC-3 MSE Missile to defeat tactical ballistic missiles, cruise missiles, unmanned aerial vehicles and aircraft, providing full 360-degree engagement. Because it has no blind spots against the evolving threat and offers improved range, interoperability and mobility, TADS improves capability to defend troops, friends and allies in critical areas around the globe. TADS will provide an open architecture for 21st century air and missile defense system-of-system integration capabilities that allow operational mission-tailoring. TADS defends up to 8 times the coverage area of other systems but uses far fewer system assets. This allows for a substantial reduction in deployed personnel and equipment, and reduces demand for airlift. Truck-mounted TADS elements drive or roll on and off C-130 and A400M transport aircraft so they can quickly be deployed to a theater of operations. TADS reduces demand for airlift and gets into the theater faster, to begin defending sooner. The minimum TADS engagement capability requires only one launcher, one battle manager, and one fire control radar to provide 360-degree defense of troops or critical assets. As more system elements arrive, they automatically and seamlessly join the TADS network and build out capability. The TADS air and missile defense system is composed of five major equipment items: Multifunction Fire Control Radar Surveillance Radar Battle Management, Command, Control, Communications, Computers, and Intelligence (BMC4I) Tactical Operations Center (TOC) Launcher and Reloader Certified Missile Round (PAC-3 Missile Segment Enhancement and canister In the BMC4I TOC, plug-and-fight flexibility lets TADS exchange data with non-TADS sensors and shooters. The same capability lets TADS move with ground forces and inter operate with allied forces. Through interoperability features designed into the system, TADS will dramatically improve combat effectiveness and situational awareness, reducing the potential for fratricide. TADS system elements can seamlessly integrate into each nation’s combat architecture as required. Units can be dispersed over a wide area. Command and control of launchers and missiles can be handed over to a neighboring battle management unit while the initial systems are moved, maintaining maneuver force protection. Plug-and-fight connectivity lets TADS elements attach to and detach from the network at will, with no requirement to shut the system down. The TADS plug-and-fight capability enables command and control over other air and missile defense system elements through open, non-proprietary standardized interfaces. TADS implements a unique ability to work with secondary missile systems if selected, and to evolve as other capabilities are developed. bones wizard
PUBLIC INFORMATION Florida Crime has continued to climb upwards across many of Florida's inner cities in recent months. Tampa, Orlando, Jacksonville and Miami have all reported four straight months of increases in violent crime, including a record number of gun-related murders in Miami last month. Police in Miami have tied many of the crimes to other drug related activities blaming the incoming drugs from South and Central America as key to the new crime wave. Police forces across the five cities are already stretched thin and have been relying on state police to lend a helping hand. Beach erosion has always been an issue facing the state of Florida. Between hurricanes which was away sand to man-made problems which prevent silt and other runoff from making it to the ocean, the beaches are in a constant state of decay. Recently though, this process of erosion has begun to accelerate, threatening to not only wipe out beaches for public use but begin to threaten the businesses and residences which are situated near them. U.S. Army Corps of Engineers have been working on trying to repair these areas by dredging off-shore sand and pumping it back to the beaches, but have found that there is less suitable sand available than previously thought. Engineers that are heading the project have estimated that some areas like St. Augustine Beach may loose all of its available beach within 5 years if a solution is not found quickly. Mississippi Two students at Forest Hill High School in Mississippi were arrested following a vicious beating of a fellow student. Witnesses to the attack say that the students were shouting slurs at the victim while repeatedly kicking and punching him. The attack lasted for just over a minute before teachers were able to separate the boys. Although initially they were not charged with a crime, the county prosecutor later decided that the boys, aged 15 and 17, escalated the altercation beyond a mere school fight. They have been charged with assault under Mississippi law, though the prosecutor noted that under the law this would not be classified as a "hate crime". The parents of the victim say that while their son has suffered multiple broken bones, he is in stable condition.
