The KGB was notorious for using terrorists to do its work, whether it be bombing the opposition parties, or intimidating annoying protestors. However, it had never gone so far as to set u such a group. This would now change, as the KGB began clandestinely working to set up a loose organization that could act as a cover for operations both domestically and abroad. It would be known only as the Sixth of June, after the day Belarus achieved its independence from the former Baltic Union. The group would be unofficially run by the KGB, although it would maintain a high enough degree of autonomy in order to appear to be an independent group. It would also be filled with the most psychopathic citizens that the KGB could amass.

With war raging across Europe, and nations from around the world jumping in, fears of an attempted uprising in Poland continued to grow inside the government. It was time for a change in tactics. For some time now, large, goverment-owned corporations had held sweeping monopolies inside both Poland and Belarus. The government would now put its economic strangle-hold use, and begin starving nationalist groups and their members of cash. Across Poland, possible enemies of the state would find that their jobs were gone, their houses forclosed on, and their assets freezed. Those who made a fuss would be dealt with.

With Belarus now directly involved in the war, the country would put its large, if somewhat old, arms industry to work. Across Poland, Belarus and the Ukraine, factories would begin churning out ammunition and weapons in order to replace losses on the battlefield.

With the war rapidly spreading across the globe, and showing no signs of ending, the government would begin to dig in for a long fight. Of primary concern was ensuring that the populace remained under control. Polls showed that most Belorussians were either neutral or supportive of the war, with the exception of a number of Polish communities. This was a balance that the government would be desperate to maintain and improve, and any cost. The KGB would be given authority to quietly remove the few independent news sources that existed in the country, and the state-owned news companies would begin working to project a positive viewpoint of the government's decisions. Additionally, great care would be taken to not in any way disrupt the country's massive welfare program in order to send cash to the military, as such an action would cause widespread outrage. The KGB would also begin monitoring and censoring communications.

The small handful of Belorussians that happened to be in Druk Yul would be evacuated. However, getting the Belorussian crew member off the Druk Yul space station would pose some problems, and a request for assistance in that regard would be sent to Druk Yul.

Nuclear weapons may have been out of Belarus' reach, but that didn't mean that it would always be that way. Belarus had a small stockpile of Highly Enriched Uranium, about 100 kg, left over from the Soviet Union. This stockpile had been mostly forgotten about, even by the government, until recently. The Belorussian government would now have the stockpile transferred to secret, heavily guarded facilities for research purposes.

With the Russians now sober and no longer killing each other, Belorussian military forces along the border and in Ukraine would return to a normal state of readiness, or, at least as normal as they could get in the midst of a global clusterfuck.

"The government has announced that it will begin annexing the Belostok(Podlaskie) voblast."

- Pravda

OOC; Just assume that Belostok only includes my part of Podlaskie, and not Horo's bit.

Internal

As soon as the announcement went out, large pro-nationalist protests would break out across Belorussian Poland.

Eventually the riots in Belostok would die down, mainly due to the fact that the area would begin receiving the benefits of full citizenship, including access to the extensive state welfare system.

As always, there would be a few malcontents who just had to rock the boat.

Public

Several Polish nationalist parties have come forth with a plan that they claim will allow Polish territories to be incorporated into Belarus without Polish culture and freedoms being impinged on. The plan calls for broad political autonomy in majority Polish areas.

The reactions of most Belorussians has been negative towards the plan, and the government has dismissed it as idiocy at best, and a plot to destroy the country at worst.

Nukes were terrifying. Everyone could agree with that. But now, Belorussians would have a little less to fear.

After much work, the Belorussian Aid Defense Command had finally managed to modernize its S-300s in a very interesting way. They now had the ability to shoot down nuclear missiles with 60% accuracy.

It was one thing to annex Belostok, it was another thing to protect it.

With this in mind, the government would begin constructing a new military base at the city of Belostok. It would house the Fourteenth Land Division, and the Thirteenth Air Division.

Information was important. Being able to twist that information for one's own purposes was even more important. With tensions rising in Poland, the Belorussian government would begin to stock up on such information in preparation for the propaganda war that was looming on the horizon.

One of the benefits of controlling the former Polish state's capital was that all of its records were right at the KGB's fingertips. This records included plans for the nuclear annihilation the Ukraine and Hungary, which had been drawn up by the Polish government. Records of attempts to infringe upon the sovereignty of the Ukraine would also be useful. All of the records had been stored both on databases and in hard-copy in Belarus. It would now be up to the government's army of propagandists to find the most useful information to put to use. Nothing would be released quite yet, but if some idiot started whining about how Belarus was oppressing the sweet, innocent Poles, there would be plenty of material ready.

There were also records of the interrogations of high-level Polish government, military, and intelligence officials, which had been taken prior to said official's executions. However, it was unlikely that these records could be used to sway the masses, as they also included the records of the KGB's rather... liberal interrogation tactics.

The government has announced that Parliament has been presented a new bill, which will allow the President to appoint regional Governors. This move has been hailed as the first step towards greater centralization and creating an efficient bureaucracy.

Polish groups, however, have condemned the bill, and are accusing the government of attempting to prevent the Belastok Voblast from electing its own regional government.

Parliament has announced that it has unanimously voted to pass the bill that would allow the President to appoint regional governors. The announcement has been met with shock and outrage by Polish radical groups, who are continuing to demand the creation of an autonomous Polish territory.

The President has also announced his pick for the governor of Belastok, Aleksy Milkzarek, a former colonel in the Polish Militsiya.

Air power won wars. Many nations had an annoying habit of trying to destroy enemy airfields and runways to prevent them from using air power. In order to counter this technique, Belorussian engineers would receive training in repairing damaged runways, and Belorussian pilots would receive training in taking off from and landing on damaged runways.
