Senate

The senators from Oklahoma, Kansas and Louisiana support the motion.

ADDL:

The Vice President brings a treaty with Tikal to the floor for Senatorial approval.

The Vice President also requests investigations be made into the acquisition of the Florida Keys to secure Federation trade routes from outside intervention.

Senate

Because the senators from Oklahoma, Kansas and Louisiana supported the resolution to send aid to The Republic of China, the measure would PASS the Senate. Because it is a matter of foreign affairs, it would go straight to President Reese.

Senator Morgan of Texas would vote in favor of the Treaty with Tikal.

Senator Morgan would propose a resolution that the Texas National Guard be permitted to secure the Florida Keys peacefully and with the oversight of the Federal Government as a training exercise for National Guard troops. Once the islands would be secure, the National Guard would await Federal troops to maintain the islands and then return to their home bases in Texas.

OOC: I have a decent understanding of how the US legislative system works when it comes to things like treaties or foreign affairs. The treaty with Tikal would just need approval of the Senate and I'm pretty sure it's the same for the aid to China. If I did something wrong just let me know.

Senator Morgan would proudly vote in favor of the Senate Bill 1. If the bill would go to the House of Representatives, all 36 Texas Congressmen would vote in favor of the bill as well which would send it to President Reese to either be vetoed or signed into law.

OOC: Gotcha.

IC: The Act was signed into law, and job centers across the country suddenly posted a total of fifty thousand jobs the very next day for those less fortunate to participate in in exchange for pay and extra things to add to their resume afterwards.

Calendar No. 1

1st CONGRESS

1st Session

H.1

To ensure the safety of the people of the Pacific and the National Security of the Plains Federation.

IN THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE PLAINS FEDERATION.

Representative Coin would propose the declaration of war which the Speaker would send to the committees for Military Action and Foreign Relations.

DECLARATION OF WAR

To remove the SOCSOV government from power in the Hawaiin and other Pacific islands.

SECTION 1. SHORT TITLE.

This Resolution may be sighted as "Declaration of War on the Nation of Hawaii".

SECTION 2 DEFINITIONS.

A. The President will direct the Federal military of the Plains Federation to take whatever non-nuclear action necessary to remove the SOCSOV from power in Hawaii.

B. The President will ensure that these military actions are done in active coperation with the governments/militaries of Tikal and Japan.

C. Civilians are to be protected at all costs. The SOCSOV is believed to be a danger to its own civilians and may possess weapons of mass destruction.

D. This Declaration of War will go into effect after the ultimatum Tikal offered the SOCSOV of Hawaii has expired.

E. Peace shall be made once this Congress approves such a declaration, until then the Plains Federation is in a State of War with the nation of Hawaii.

All 36 Representatives from Texas would vote to approve the Declaration of War. If the bill would pass the House then it would go to the Senate to be voted on. The only difference between a Declaration of War and a normal Act/Bill/Resolution was that the President did not need to sign/veto it into action. All it needed was a 2/3s vote of both Houses of Congress.

Colorado, New Mexico, and Illinois would now be recognized as States, after President Reese signed their statehood into law.

The Declaration of War was ratified by the Senate in a unanimous vote, the President gave it his blessing, and the industrial machine of the Federation whirred to life as ammunition and weapons began to be produced, recruiting centers increased their drives, and troops were readied for combat.
