After careful deliberation, the Ajaw and the Ix'ajaw, Prince and Princess of the Principality of Tikal, have decided to grace your request with their agreement. His Eternal Highness, Chak Tok Ich'aak, Unconquered Sun, Ajaw ichil Tikal has decided to agree to your request and will arrive in 7 days by means of a specially-built Concorde, the only means of long-distant air travel fit for His Grand Highness. With him shall come six fully armed and armoured members of the Royal Guard, as well as 52 of Ajaw Chak Tok Ich'aak's most trusted servants. Tightened security measures have been implemented at the airport and surrounding areas due to the high-level meeting. After the plane shutdown its engines, an airstairs would pull up to the left front cabin door to allow the Tikal delegation to disembark. Once the prince descended, he would be greeted by the King, "Your Eternal Highness, welcome to the Kingdom of India. I hope that India and Tikal may work closely throughout this visit in order to formulate and implement bilaterally beneficial measures." After the King, Chief Magistrate Princess Dharma would then step forward, "It is my honor to welcome you from Tikal. While India does not have the same climate as Central America, I hope that you may be comfortable and pleased throughout your visit." His Eternal Highness Chak Tok Ich'aak along with King Kanaka and Princess Dharma would take helicopters to Umaid Bhawan Palace. Once the Indian and Tikal delegations arrived at the palace, a royal guard platoon would lead the officials to the grand ballroom. The rest of India's executive government would be in attendance, and King Kanaka would ask Prince Chak Tok Ich'aak to join him and his cabinet to begin discussions. [snip'd image]The Palace was impressive, in ways very different from the megalithic pyramids built by Tikal or the Palaces built by Europeans or the Japanese. The Prince could practically feel the culture oozing from his surroundings, though he didn't show it. The servants following him did, however, looking this and that way with curiousity and awe.Most of the servants and his guards likely wouldn't be permitted into the ballroom, considering that none of them were actually diplomats. They were only there to protect the Prince and see to his well-being.Ich'aak followed King Kanaka into the room, greeting those who approached him jovially."Very impressive, indeed, King Kanaka. I'm glad to be here, though I'd very much like to home in on the topic of the day, that being: what is India looking for when it asks Tikal for a meeting such as this?" "Now, for Tikal's interest in the Pacific ocean. Well, we border that ocean, as do the Americas. Hence, it's only natural for us to have interest in it. Mostly, we wish to keep it the peaceful big pond that it is, though that goal is, in the end, only secondary. Tikal's primary goal is to prevent colonisation and imperialism in the Americas by foreign powers by any means necessary. This way, we have already prevented the French from annexing Quebec, for example. That is also the reason why we've taken possession of several islands in both the Atlantic and Pacific oceans. However, what happens in the central and western Pacific generally doesn't concern us much, unless direct allies are involved, such as the situation between China and Japan. Article II: Military Cooperation Both signatory parties agree to to strengthen ties between their two armed forces. This could include, but is not limited to; officer exchanges, joint military exercises, joint training, communication between relevant defense institutions, and other basic frameworks for strategic cooperation. This does not mean the undersigned are to mutually protect each other or go to war against an external foe. Article III: Intelligence Sharing Should any covert or overt threat be made to a signatory by a third party, it is the duty of the other signatory to share any information they may have on the threat. Article IV: Travel Documentation Both signatory parties agree to take measures to ease the visa application processes for citizens of the other signatory party, in order to facilitate increased cultural exchange and thus increase cultural understanding. Article V: Economic and Scientific Cooperation Both signatory parties agree to create the necessary infrastructure for civil cooperation between scientists and to make possible exchanges of data and personal for common benefit. Both signatory parties may provide economic aid and/or humanitarian assistance in times of national emergency when deemed necessary by the concerned party. Article IV: Cancellation This agreement holds indefinitely, but can be cancelled by any of the two signatory parties at any point of time, provided notice has been given to the other signatory party at least 1 year in advance. For example, no foreign nationals may be in the upper echelons where decisions are made, and changing these laws would take more effort and political will than we can afford at the time.
