L'Empire Occupies Borders

The French Empire today moved troops across the border of Alsacs-Lorraine into German territory in order to secure the crossing and ensure that there was no chance of the chaos now engulfing the nation from carrying over into French territory. The borderlands which have been occupied are 80 kilometers out from the French border, including the cities of Freiburg and Heidelburg. French troops have fired no shots at anything during the occupation thusfar, and are now fortifying positions to ensure that the nation of France remains safe through the disaster that is the collapse of Germany.

Statements from her Imperial Highness are that as soon as things have settled within the nation, as they appear to be doing with the further occupation by Alvonia and the Northlands, that they will as well hold elections on the fate of the territory in their control, and that the sudden, disastrous collapse of a nation in such close proximity is a shock and discouraging to all who have seen it. No generals have been reached for comment. The number of troops within the borderlands have been determined to be several divisions of combined arms, but it is unknown how many troops France has held in reserve in the case of an incident.

Swiss Occupation

French Forces have been diverted from the border territories of Germany to sweep through the French-Majority-Speaking portions of Switzerland in order to defend the rights of the people therein from any possible encroachment, and to bring them into the Greater French Empire as equal members. It is unknown the consequences of this move in the International community, but within France it is being viewed with some more legitimacy than the occupation of German territories.

The purposes of these task-forces is being withheld by senior military corespondents, but they are not large enough to seriously threaten any of the major resurgent powers.

Fleet passes through the Suez

The French navy has messaged ahead to all it may concern that they mean to pass through the Suez Canal instead of any of the other speculated options that the Mediterranean fleet may have taken. In particular, the Babylonian Empire has been messaged a guarantee of safety while the rather large battlefleet passes through on its way to the Indian Ocean.

North Chinese Denunciation

The Government of France has released an official response to the denunciation of North China, which, in spite of the heated words of the Chinese government, shows rather alarming restraint and civility. It can be read below.

The Government of France only acts in the defense of the civilians in the occupied areas. We do not wish for them to be made victims of laws unfavorable to them from the Italian government, though we do not believe the Italians would intentionally do anything to harm the generally French speaking areas of Switzerland. Peace will still be maintained in the region of Switzerland now annexed, despite the worries of the Chinese state. France has brought order to the chaos of competing regional governments. The hostile and damaging intentions that the Chinese government speaks of are nonexistent.

Quebec

The French government has landed troops in Quebec, limited resistance by outlaws being put down by the Division's worth of troops which have begun to occupy the area, having been landed in Quebec City and Montreal. They have largely been met with open arms, welcome after the anarchy of years previous and the failure of several governments to be set up successfully. Regardless, the French Imperial flag flies over the government buildings in both major cities.

Franco-Japanese Mutual Defense

France and Japan have entered into a highly binding treaty of mutual defense and an all encompassing free trade treaty. The exact details of the treaty remain a secret, but it does involve a certain military cooperation.

The Crown and Ecclesiarchy of Alaska must condemn in the strongest possible terms the French invasion of North America. The government of Alaska strongly supports the resistance by the Quebecois people and will not rule out taking measures to ensure their liberty from Transatlantic aggression.” - His Majesty, Judas I Horn, King of Alaska, Ecumenical Patriarch of New Archangel, Defender of the Faith.

"The Principality of Tikal echoes Alaska's words. Though we feel that France is a nation of good and honourable people, we cannot in good faith permit that Quebec or Canada lose their right to sovereign rule. We kindly request the removal of France's forces from the North American continent posthaste. We will not permit Neo-Colonialism in the Americas."

"The Imperium calls for calm in this delicate situation, wars have already been fought across Europe and in the Pacific over trivialities, let's discuss this like civilized states before turning to war."

We echo the calls of Japan and urge for calm in this situation. Rash accusations and actions will only serve to inflame the situation. We encourage continued dialogue between France and others.

"I pray that the French government, North American nations, and fellow European countries come to a diplomatic solution. I restate the messages from Japan and the Northlands that diplomacy ought to be used before any harsh action is taken."

"The age of colonialism has long since passed. This French attitude of imposing French values and culture across the world simply cannot be tolerated. I hope that the French government makes the right choice and withdraws from North America."

French Navy continues journey

The French fleet which left tried to pass the Suez not too long ago has continued on its journey, now accompanied by a fuel ship in order to make a long-haul journey. It has now passed over Australia and is evidently on its way towards Polynesia, its objective therein unknown.

As the French fleet entered the Asia-Pacific region, it would secretly be tailed by four Type 093 attack submarines, which would keep a low profile, but always stay ready to act. The French had already shown elsewhere their dubious behaviour, China hardly trusted them to be much different in Asia.

New Caledonia

French Naval Vessels have landed troops in New Caledonia, who were met with open arms by the populace, long separated from their benefactors in Europe. Though their attitude has chilled somewhat on the subject of Imperialism, many fondly remember the days where France reigned kindly over the small set of islands. The troops are being greeted cordially and the occupation is going without a hitch.
New Caledonia held a referendum on independance once. It was shot down by vast majority. I'm assuming that this attitude has prevailed since then.
A State of High Alert

The Navy of France has entered a state of heightened readiness, the Frigates, Corvettes, and submarines remaining at home have fanned out through the Atlantic and are conducting Anti-Submarine Warfare drills and exercises in order to try and ensure that no harm will come of the French mainland through any means. Air defense networks have also been put on alert, as there was no telling how an attack might arrive.

French troops Unite with Japanese allies

The initial force of the French Expeditionary Corps have arrived on the Japanese home islands, the naval forces therein beginning to run patrols in order to assist their allies in the defense of their home, though they are respecting the cease fire put in place by the Japanese government in order to ascertain who launched the provoking nuclear strike. The French Commander in the region has put himself at the immediate disposal of his Japanese colleagues to preform any task they wish of him within reason.

France wishes to know, since they have been threatened with force by the Theocracy once in the past, what they wish to do with these planes they are requisitioning? Once we are assured of the non-aggressive nature of the acquisition, we will deliver with all haste.

The Alaskan Self Defence Force currently features very little air power. With increasing tensions on our southern border, we urgently need aircraft capable of maintaining air superiority and to intercept hostile aircraft. We have no intention of using these in an offensive manner towards France. ” - Michael Ainsworth, Advisor to the King, Interim Head of Government.
