Wehrmacht conducts exercises in Poland

According to an anonymous Wehrmacht official, the Wehrmacht has begun [topic='122172']military exercises[/topic] in Poland. Although tensions are high given that Florentin Josué Delacroix still has not been found, Oberkommando der Wehrmacht felt it necessary to continue training and exercising to keep the military in top condition. Speaking on condition of anonymity, a Wehrmacht general said "These exercises will ensure our soldiers and officers will be able to react swiftly and quickly should a war arise, as unlikely as it is.  Training and drill is extremely important to the Wehrmacht, which is exactly what we are striving for here in Szczecin today." Director Wilding has issued a communique to all neighboring nations to not be alarmed by the exercises.

"The Ukraine would prefer these exercises not take place in the bordering polish regions, but rather in northern/central Poland. A mass shooting occurred a week ago by a man allegedly a soldier of one of the protectors of Poland. Knowing one of the protectors are completing exercises in Poland does send paranoia, even though we trust you not to do anything wrong, and do not believe the man was a soldier of Alvonia who committed the Mass Shooting at this time. If you need to use the bordering regions, we would like to ask to send an unarmed supervisor there if possible/convenient."

All-points bulletin issued for Florentin Josué Delacroix

In related news, all nations in Europe have been advised to be on the lookout for a man by the name of Florentin Josué Delacroix. Mr. Delacroix is a former French citizen that immigrated to Germany before the Great Collapse and is wanted in Alvonia on charges of terrorism, theft, conspiracy to commit theft, and illegal firearms ownership. He is considered armed and dangerous, and was last reported to be heading to Italy, although all nations are advised to arrest and deport Mr. Delacroix should he attempt to enter.

"Florentin Josué Delacroix will be placed on our terror watch list, and our border guards have accordingly been notified of this. Should Mr. Delacroix attempt to cross over into Muscovy, he will be placed under arrest and extradited to Alvonia. With that said, we request a copy of his dossier."

"Ukraine would be pleased to know that these exercises are taking place in Vorpommern, a northwestern region of Poland already under Alvonian control which has been since our inception. Furthermore, no Wehrmacht soldier is present in any official capacity in the Baltic-protected areas in Poland, and we also request any information on this suspected mass shooter to determine if he is an ultranationalist or not."

- Alvonian Foreign Ministry

The Muscovy government would soon receive Delacroix's full dossier as assembled by the BfV.

The Russian TOS-1A self-propelled rocket artillery system, renamed in Wehrmacht documents to Raketenartilleriepanzer, or Rap for short. This new rocket artillery system is able to fire both conventional HE and thermobaric weapons at a range of 6,000 km.

In addition to this, napalm-filled bombs are being developed for use in CAS missions. A modernized version of the Flammenwerfer 41, which features an enlarged fuel tank and increased armor on the tank itself to prevent puncturing by common small arms fire, has also been developed. This version of the weapon will be named the Flammenwerfer 81 and will be given to Grenadier regiments that have orders to assault heavily-defended enemy cities.

Political commentators blast Hawaiian and Ukrainian leadership for "historical revisionism"

Notable Alvonian political commentators Bartek Jelen and Friederike Weiman, who appear on Alvonian national television in a segment named Welt Nachrichten, began their segment by stating they would be discussing topics which may be uncomfortable for some viewers and advised caution. They, however, remained unapologetic of the material they presented, with Jelen stating it was "necessary for us to be uneasy for an hour to prevent us from being disgraced in four months."

In their segment, Jelen and Weiman brought on [post='3267145']Isaak Meyer[/post], who appeared on the Alvonian Geschichte Sender last month describing the Hawaiian Social Sovereignty movement. Isaak Meyer more or less repeated his sentiments on the subject on this broadcast, discussing the idea with both hosts as well. After discussing the Hawaiians, Jelen, Weiman and Meyer moved on to the Ukrainian leadership, where both Weiman and Meyer criticized the nation heavily for their [post='3267525']comments on Stalin[/post]. Weiman, who holds a history degree with a focus on Eastern Europe, said she found it "ironic" that the Ukrainian leadership "lauded Stalin, apparently forgetting the events of Holodomor. Was it not the Soviets who caused the deaths of nearly 7.5 million Ukrainian peasants?" Meyer and Jelen both agreed with this, saying it was "disgraceful" and "completely backwards thinking", respectively. At the end of the broadcast, Jelen turned to the audience and said "While nobody is perfect, it's silly, even ignorant, to call something great and pretend the worst parts never happened. Just like the Germans must live with the fact they killed so many, so must all others who have committed horrible acts in history." The broadcast ended with the three shaking hands and signing off for the evening.

Recent poll suggests "displeasure" with European Community

A recent poll of the Alvonian population suggested most between the ages of 18 and 39 were "displeased" with the European Community, believing it to have strayed from its intended purpose. Many Alvonians were led to believe that the talks in Riga were centered around a bloc that would oppose the informal French-Italian-Swedish alliance, something that the Alvonian population said was a "very credible threat" to Alvonia and Europe as a whole. When asked about the "Commonwealth of Defense and Trade", a bloc set up by the Ukraine, Hungary-Slovakia and Belarus, 73% of Alvonians said that they were concerned the bloc was based on ultranationalism, while 23% stated they were concerned about the possibility of the Ukraine exporting communism to other states via said bloc. Further concerning some Alvonian citizens was the fact that Greece, Sweden, the British Federation, Yugoslavia, Zapadnaya and Brandenburg have not joined the European Community, making some wonder if it truly is representative of Europe. When asked of alternatives, Alvonians between the ages of 18-29 favored an aggressive bloc that sought to destroy ultranationalism. Other age demographics could not come to a clear consensus on what a new bloc would achieve.

The parliament of Hungary-Slovakia assures the people of Alvonia that Hungary-Slovakia is in no way ultra-nationalist.  There is a Nationalist Party, but it polled very poorly, only receiving 0.5% in today's elections, and didn't win any seats in our parliament.  It is also doubtful they will have a seat in the Constituion Committee forming in a few days.

The Republic of Belarus echoes its esteemed ally's statement, as the Belarussian nationalist party has failed to gain a single seat in parlaiment, and quite frankyl, the Belarusian people have always been wary of extremism. In addition to this, there are numerous distinct nationalities within the the bloc.

"The Ukraine echoes the rest of the CDT's stance on this issue. We would also like to denote that The Ukraine does not lead the bloc, nor is The Ukraine a communist nation. We are more of socialist. As for the ultranationalistis, that is just to laugh at. The only nationalists that exist in the CDT are the .5% in Hungary-Slovakia. Even though there are possibly small nationalist factions in The Ukraine and Belarus."

That is fine, however Hungary-Slovakia does not appreciate being called ultra-nationalist when their is no reason to be called such.

There is no Nationalist in any of our democratically elected parliaments.  For the miniscule 0.5% that voted for the Nationalist Party, I am sure every nation has a small amount of people that are nationalist in them.  I am quite certain even Alvonia has around the same number of citizens that identify as nationalists.  If not, then the Alvonian government had done a good of suppressing and intimidating it's populace into not doing so.

First Iron Cross Awarded

Following the successful conclusion of Operation Whisper Grass, a series of military exercises in Poland, Leutnant Christel Steffi Voigts of the 3. Infanterie-Division was awarded the Iron Cross Second Class for her bravery in face of adverse conditions. The specific event that led to the award was a Panzer VII of the 1. Gepanzerte Kavallerie-Division accidentally falling in a canal with the crew still inside. Leutnant Voigts dived into the canal, forced the hatches open with her bare hands, and assisted the tank crewmembers back to shore. The Panzer VII was recovered, but was deemed inoperable after the engine seized, causing considerable damage to it. An investigation after the conclusion of the exercises determined that the brakes had locked up, causing the driver of the Panzer VII to lose control and drive into the canal. All Panzer VIIs will be checked for this fault and will be fixed accordingly.

Leutnant Christel Voigts is a German native of Ulm who joined the Wehrmacht after receiving an ROTC scholarship in college. She is a member of the Wehrmacht's Pioner corps and holds a degree in civil engineering and structural engineering.

Schwarze Korps soldiers will still use their regular Erweiterte Infanteriepanzerung. The helmet previously considered for Infanterie-Powerrüstung has been discarded in favor of a normal ballistic helmet with a built-in radio for communication.

Karoline Dressler calls Communism a "scourge"; promotes restriction

The Alvonian Head of State, Karoline Dressler, stated at a government rally today that communism was a "world scourge" that must be "either destroyed or limited" politically, economically, and militarily. "The Bolsheviks," she said, "have always felt it necessary to export their ideology to other nations, whether they want it or not." During her speech, which thousands in the Bayern area attended, she discussed the failings of previous communist states like the Soviet Union, Vietnam, North Korea, the GDR, and Poland, while also praising the efforts of Nationalist Spain, Portugal, Italy, Hungary, and Romania to fight against and prevent the spread of Bolshevism in the 1940s, although she noted that some, especially those in Eastern Europe, had ultimately been overrun by the Soviet war machine. "How many times must history prove itself before people begin to listen and understand that communism as a whole has failed?" Dressler was quoted as saying.

Director Wilding stated later that day that although Karoline Dressler was a promoted speaker at the rally, her views did not reflect those of the Alvonian government.

A full transcript of the speech can be found on Dressler's personal website.

New Groups added to Alvonian Terror Watchlist

In addition to ultranationalists, Social Sovereignty and Bolshevism has been added to the Alvonian Terror Watchlist, a list circulated by the Internal Ministry to all security companies and ventures in Alvonia. Minister of the Interior Claudia Schröder stated in a press release that while Social Sovereignty has been well-defined by the Hawaiian state, Bolshevism is defined by the Alvonian government as "any Socialist or Communist movement that seeks to export their ideals to any area outside its borders, without regard to the political workings of the area or legal procedures." These three ideologies, and any group that claims to follow them, will be monitored closely and Alvonia will not trade with or otherwise deal with any state suspected to be under the influences of such ideas.

Picking on another very small party, are we?

There are neither any ultranationalist nor any Bolsheviks in the Hungarian government. Both the Nationalist and Marxist Parties polled at or below 1 percent in elections, and neither won even a single seat in parliament.

There is estimated to be only 500 people who identified at nationalists, and 2000 people who identified as Marxists, out of a total population of 16 million in Hungary-Slovakia.

We also reiterate that we are a defensive, not an aggressive, nation, and have no desire to foment or export any revolutions.

-- Nikola Erdos, Prime Minister of Hungary-Slovakia
