The Philippines

In the aftermath of World War Eight the collective assembly of islands known as the Philippines had suffered very little in the way of actual damage and loss of life though a single nuclear missile had erased the entire ruling body for the area in one swift attack. After this nuclear attack the surviving population found themselves alone and unguided and what had once been a unified people quickly dissolved into smaller and smaller tribes that constantly fought each other for resources.

This way of life continued for months and then years and as a result much of the infrastructure of the land fell into ruin and decay. It would have been very likely that the Philippine people would have brought themselves to ruin if not for direct intervention by an outside force. This intervention came in the form of Colonel Visar Kuchenkov and his band of soldiers. Having left the battlefields of the World War behind they had traveled the oceans in search of a new home.

The found this new home in the land of the Philippines and he and his men swiftly commenced with restoring order and control over the land. The Colonel would approach each tribe one at a time and give them a simple choice. Side with him and accept his rule or be destroyed. Those that complied were absorbed into his command and those that refused were destroyed and wiped from history.

it took over two years in total but eventually the warring tribes of the Philippines were brought to heel by the Colonel and order was restored though in the first few months numerous minor rebellions sprung to life before being destroyed. To help combat this rebellious sentiment Colonel Kuchenkov established a new way of life across the land with the focus being on the three goals of loyalty, obedience and strength.

With this new way of life being taught to the growing children of the nation total obedience was achieved by the closing years of Colonel Visar Kuchenkov's life and so there was no opposition when he proclaimed his family line as President for Life of the Philippines. When Visar passed away at the age of seventy three in his bed, his twenty two year old son Vladimir Kuchenkov became President.

Under Vladimir the Philippines had began to simultaneously expand and improve its standing forces and to increase its trading resource amounts and processing ability in preparation for returning to the new world stage.

Philippines Military Arms, PMA for short, has established itself as the one and only provider for military equipment for the military forces of the Philippines. This company supplies arms and equipment to each branch of the military and as a result many components are similar to one another allowing easy training for all service members. In addition costs of replacements and repairs are lower than would be normal allowing for more money to be put into research and development. All PMA equipment is provided for Philippine military use only and any equipment found outside of the Philippine military will be classified as stolen and those holding it will be hunted down as thieves.

Vladimir sat in the high chair that was part of the symbol of his office, the leather covered high backrest providing a solid support for him to rest back against as he held the missives delivered to him by one of his many assistants in his black gloved hands. Wearing an exact copy of the military uniform his father had worn minus the medals for service of course he sighed and looked over at the tall glass box to his right inside of which stood his father's uniform on it's frame. He spent a few moments looking upon it before turning his attention back to the men standing before him at the bottom of the steps that led to his chair.

"Would someone explain to me how exactly these nations managed to contact us when we have not yet revealed ourselves to the world?" Vladimir asked with a frown as he waved the missives before him. The assembled men, a host of military staff and civilian administrators looked about nervously at one another daring and hoping that someone other than themselves would answer.

When no immediate answer came Vladimir's frown became a scowl and his voice rose in anger. "Nothing. I can not abide cowardice gentlemen. Loyalty, obedience and strength. This is what makes our nation strong and yet here I see nothing but self centered cowardice and weakness. It is pathetic and disgusting. Leave my sight at once. Now!" spoke Vladimir his voice rising to a roar on the last word and the host of men quickly filed out leaving the President to sigh wearily and lean back further in his seat.

The sharp and crisp sound of boots striking bare stone floor echoed as a slim and tall figure stepped out from the shadows at the side of the room. Passing the stone columns that held the roof up the figure stepped out into the light and Vladimir rose to sit at full attention as a young woman came into view. Tall for a woman Natasha Romanova was a beautiful but deadly lady. With short brunette hair and piercing green eyes and a pale complexion she fitted the term exotic beauty perfectly. Yet he looks was not the only thing that drew men's attention for she held the rank of General in the Philippine Special Forces and though it was not well known she was also the lover of President Vladimir.

"Do not be too hard on them my love" she whispered as she stood next to Vladimir's chair one arm resting on it as he took her other arm in hand and held her close. "How can I not be. We must be strong and united in this time of upheaval and yet all I find myself surrounded by is weaklings and incompetents, present company excluded of course" Vladimir replied with a smile to which Natasha matched.

"Do not fear my love. Time will weed out the weak and useless and in their place we shall stand stronger than ever" said Natasha as she curled herself into his lap and wrapped both arms around his shoulders. "Time will tell my dear. Time will tell" replied Vladimir as he pulled Natasha in close and met her lips with his and kissed her passionately.

"The Philippines gives its thanks to all those nations that have contacted us at such a short notice. Your messages were an unexpected surprise but we are glad to be in contact with other nations. You are all welcome to send representatives to meet with President Vladimir Kuchenkov in the capital city of Phyrus, what once would have been named Manila."

With the rise of more nations across the globe and in turn a possible rise in visiting foreign nationals new security measures are to be implemented immediately. All citizens are to go to their local security station and have their bio-metric data taken and imprinted on new data cards. These data cards will be part of a brand new and extensive security system that will be installed on every building in the nation. Entryway will only be possible with the correct data card and matching person, any attempt to use a card without the correct individual will lock down the entrance way and alert security.

Of course this new system will take time to set up, months at least if not longer and in the meantime further security measures are being put forward. These measures include expanding the internal security force for more patrols, breeding and training superior and more vicious guard dogs and installing closed circuit television systems in the major cities of the nation.

"The Chinese nation is very sad to see that neighbours think our people might cause trouble overseas. Sure, there are the black sheep, but we would hope that the Philippines do not forget that our nation is one of the most ancient and great, an achievement built upon social order and peace, not thuggery and hooliganism."

The sudden departure of citizens belonging to the RSR, supposedly due to change in security measures, was found to be very suspicious to the security authorities and any citizens that hadn't managed to immediately leave would be found and taken into custody by the security forces. They would not be harmed unless they tried to resist arrest in which case they would be subdued and taken to the nearest security stations. At these stations their credentials would be checked and double checked whilst any luggage they had with them would also be searched whilst officers asked them why they were in the Philippines and what was the real reason for the sudden exodus.

Of course if no citizen of the RSR had been in the Philippines to start with then there would be no one to apprehend but then how would they know of the new security measures. If this was the case security forces would double their efforts to locate and capture any spies and other agents in the nation. Whilst this was happening important buildings would be put in lock down with increased security measures activated.

An Announcement from the Red Sea Republic

In light of many video recordings from holidayers on social media showing Philippine police officers detaining Republican citizens, the Red Sea Republic hereby issues a formal request to the government of the Philippines to release all detained citizens of ours who are not being charged with a crime(s) within 72 hours. Transport back to their home country will be provided cost-free by the Republic upon their discharge.

All citizens of the Republic should be advised that any travel to the Philippines after this message should be done at their own risk, as the current government seems unpredictable and is in our eyes guilty of several human rights violations with its recent shift in policy-making.

Further suspicions were growing when reports came in that some how these so called citizens of the Red Sea Republic had managed to access the internet of the Philippines which of course had never been stated to have been open access and thus access could only have been hacked in. Those citizens found in possession of electronic communication and other observation devices were separated from their fellows and sent to more secure security holding facilities whilst other Reed Sea Republic citizens that were deemed to be innocent were released from custody and allowed to leave the country.

Intense study and dissection of all recorded footage and photos by those citizens caught with electronic communication devices and observation equipment would begin with much focus being put on any military or security force buildings and equipment. Anyone caught with such images or footage would face more in depth interrogation.

Using design plans uncovered from a long lost country from Western Europe the military of the Philippines has begun to take shape. A total of ten thousand further soldiers have been raised and equipped with new weapons that though based on old technology has been raised and modified to equal more modern standards. In addition a standard uniform has been created and put into practice. This uniform provides some basic protection from shrapnel and glancing hits thanks to an inner lining of light armor but will not stop direct bullet strikes, the uniform has also been designed with intimidation in mind. The soldiers of the Philippines are trained to remain as silent as possible even when wounded or in a struggle and to always hold their formations to present an uncompromising front to the enemy.

When the reinforcements arrived at Wake Island the soldiers would separate from the engineers to report to the commander in charge of the military forces on the island to receive their orders whilst the engineers began the lengthy process of disembarking their equipment and gear. Once this was done however, they got straight to work and the immediate objective was getting the old airfield up and running. Most of the hangers were too damaged and would need to be torn down but one was still repairable as was the control tower. The runway itself was mostly undamaged and a few short repairs later meant it was finally in a condition to be used.

A small Hawaiian vessel has been deployed somewhere off the coast of Wake island in international waters. Using former US military cryptological equipment it hopes to intercept Phillipine communications and determine force composition and intentions of the invading force.

Attempts by the Hawaiian vessel to discover force composition would give a rough estimate of between five hundred to one thousand active soldiers on the island and their current intentions appeared to be to dig in and fortify the island's defenses. The Hawaiian vessel would also learn that a squadron of fighter planes and a squadron of bomber planes were also being flown out to the island to become part of the newly named Wake Island defense forces.

A squadron of F-15 Eagle fighter planes and a squadron of B-2 Spirit stealth bombers have been stationed at the newly rebuilt airfield on Wake Island. So far with only one hanger being usable only three of the stealth bombers have been put in cover inside of it. All other aircraft have been stationed outside next to the taxiway so will likely be visible.

In addition to this a number of patriot air defense missile batteries have been supplied to the island for air defense.
