Californian
Private "The Kingdom of Yugoslavia appreciates the sentiment of the Northlands in having established order to the island of Crete, and in the interest of further cooperation and to prevent the Greek people from being divided, we suggest the idea of a joint protectorate over the island. There should be around two thousand troops heading to land in Crete to further assist in retaining order if the idea of a joint protectorate is ideal." Respectfully,Kralj Dragojev Belojevic PRIVATE We would not oppose the idea of cooperation with Yugoslavia, especially as the only two nations that currently have a stake in the Mediterranean and are not involved in internal conflict. If the desire is to prevent the Greeks from being divided, perhaps a joint protectorate over the entirety of Greece would be wise. On a separate but related matter the Northlands is interested in assisting with protecting the Suez Canal as our interests are to ensure European control of this vital waterway, as I'm sure we can both agree on. We can deploy men to assist with this effort as well. Lord Timmermans Edited January 24, 2015 by Californian

Lord Timmermans Private "The Kingdom of Yugoslavia while appreciative of the sentiment of the Northlands, we feel must turn down the offer in expanding it across the entirety of Greece due to there being almost nothing of trust or a relationship between the two countries but in the interest of cooperation, we would be willing to assist and help in managing the defenses and order of the island of Crete. Given enough time and good relations, it may be expanded across Greece in its entirety but for now that is what the Kingdom as a whole is willing to extend as a branch of trust. Regarding the Suez, the Suez Canal is massively important for trade as a whole and having it become a militarized area where a regional group lords control over it would go against the goals and merits that the Kingdom seeks for the canal to begin with, and as such we must decline in making the Suez Canal turn from being held internationally for the success of all to being European held and simply for the success of the European region. The Kingdom is more than willing to defend it as a notion of international territory but not so as being held by any state, country or regional power." Californian
PRIVATE I appreciate the straightforward response and we will respect the wishes of Yugoslavia in regards to the Greek territories and Suez Canal. At this time we will decline Yugoslavian assistance in the administration of Crete due to the current lack of relationship between our two states as you have pointed out, but I am hopeful that this can change in the future through cooperation between our nations.
