The Prussian government would extend an offer to American officials to attend a meeting in Prussia's capital city of trade, Hamburg. Specifically, the invitation would highlight two key areas of interest to the Prussian government: trade and defense cooperation programs.

A positive reply would be sent to the Prussian government notifying them that the American Commonwealth would accept their invitation and dispatch a diplomat.  Secretary of State McNutt and several aides and attaches would fly to Prussia on an official government aircraft to meet with the Prussians.

After landing, the Americans would be given an escort by Prussian Federal Police officers and taken to Wandsbek Castle where the Prussian Chancellor, Julian Müller and the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Klaus Spreckles would greet them at the entrance. Following a round of hearty handshakes and greetings, their hosts would escort them to a private dining room where a white table clothed dining table awaited them. Settled in, the first course of a planned five course meal would be presented, allowing Chancellor Müller to ask the Americans how their flight was, and other small talk as he began to steer the conversation towards the direction of the invitation.

"Well the flight was good, if a bit long, but no problems there.  And I must thank you for this excellent meal Chancellor Muller" said the Secretary of State.  "Unfortunately we did not fly all the way over he Atlantic to eat dinner" he said jokingly.  "The American Commonwealth is keen to expand ties with friendly nations around the globe and Europe has long been a neglected region as far as our foreign affairs go until recently.  I hope we can change that here today".

OOC: Sorry, did not realize you had posted already!

IC: "Indeed, Prussia too has been looking to cement closer ties with foreign nations of a likemind. North America is a natural partner with Europe, and Prussia in particular. Why, if I am not mistaken, Prussian and Austrian heritage make up the largest ethnic grouping in the American Commonwealth. To ignore these roots would be a great calamity. To end such a drought of relations between our two great nations can be done tonight.  Trade, especially, can be increased between our states with relative ease. What would the American Commonwealth wish to see of a future relationship with Prussia?"

"Trade is always a good starting point for any mutual international relationship.  It is one of the ties that tends to bind nations together like no other.  I do believe you are also correct in that people of German ethnicity make up the single largest ethnic grouping in the Commonwealth.  We are a very diverse nation and that is something we are inherently proud of.  As for the future relations between our nations, I hope that a good friendship can be forged as time goes on but as to where we end up only time will tell, although I feel this is more probable than not".

The Prussian Chancellor nodded his head in agreement, saying "Trade is an important first step in international relations. Prussian industry has continued to grow year after year, and new markets surely will continue this good trend. Additionally, Prussia and Denmark have coordinated on a joint law enforcement database to track criminal trends, as well as criminals crossing the border and committing crimes. Would the American Commonwealth be interested in cooperating in this area, in addition to increased trade opportunities?"
