Spheres and Power

Every single alliance in CN has a sphere of influence around themselves, and in that regard would be too long to list.  I have attempted to construct here an outline of the power spheres I see existing today.  As you can see, a large number of alliances overlap over many power spheres.  In effect, these spheres are part of that alliance's power sphere as well, and often the 'tail is wagging the dog' especially where a sphere is connected to an alliance much more powerful than themselves.

AZTEC: DT, GLOF, Sengoku, AB, NSF

AZTEC Sphere of Influence: IRON, HB, Argent, DBDC

C&G: TLR, ODN, GATO

C&G sphere of influence: NG, NPO, NSO, INT, SL, TIO

Aftermath sphere of influence: RIA, GOD, Avalanche, Sparta, TLRep, Echelon, DB4D, NpO, TIO, LoSS, NpO, TOP

Beer-o-sphere: NpO, Sparta, Fark, MHA, AO, GO

There should probably be some kinda NS delineation as to what constitutes a "power sphere". Something at least capable of fighting a sanctioned alliance head on.

This is what a lot of people do but it's inaccurate.  There are large and powerful power spheres upon which the axis of the world turns, and there are small power spheres that probably couldn't take on a 2mil NS alliance, let alone a sanctioned one, but the political relationships involved are important and they are a distinct sphere.

Also like I said, every alliance has an individual power sphere are those are as important as the blocs and multi-alliance spheres, and actually are often more important.  NPO and IRON and NpO their private sphere and who is in it had a dramatic effect on the last war for instance, much moreso than any bloc.

Power Sphere just connotes some kind of power projection capability to my mind, alliances being clustered on the web wouldn't make you a sphere as such.

Well let's look at things from a different perspective.  Why don't I put the aggregate power of the "private spheres" of the top 80 alliances

Runs back into the problem of who exerts influence on whom. That's kinda the weakness of all these analyses, we're looking at treaties and not necessarily inclinations.

Also Co-Prosperity.. lol? RIOT got hit by a rogue and noone else in that sphere helped them.

EDIT: Also you nkow as well as me that SL doesn't fit in DL at all. They go with NSO.

DL (well UCR) fractured into like 3 alliances post war because they couldn't agree on FA.

many alliances can fit into different spheres such as MCXA can be put into a few. SL fits into the DL sphere with the SL/LSF MDoAP and as well with NSO with that treaty.

Interesting look at things but I agree with Auctor that not all the alliances up there project a ton of power. You're also missing a set NPOsphere, which I think is one of the most powerful in the game right now. (Let's arbitrarily call it NPO, NG, AI, TPF, NSO, US and C&G, or something along those lines. I'm sure it can be modified, just giving a general idea.)

I don't DBDC is in anyone's sphere of influence.

Co-Prosperia: Kashmir, tJL, Riot Society

Co-Prosperia sphere of influence: SC, NSO, Doom Squad

I like this one.

Anyone that says AZTEC moves fast must be talking about someone else.

Have you missed the treaties they've signed recently and the way they're shaping their sphere? They're starting to play politics at the top level by building and leading a powershere.

What treaties? Besides Sengoku joining AZTEC, AZTEC hasn't signed hadly any treaties in the past 3 months, In fact DT dropped their treaty with LoSS yesterday.

More than a couple of alliances have signed more treaties than all of AZTEC combined over the last nine months.

Your only looking at a single bloc but you need to look at the powershere AZTEC and DBDC are building If you want to see the light. Well I make no promises, you might see it but you need to posses the minimum requirements.

Was I the only one who was hoping that Targaryen had quit?

Trolls have no effect on me so making me quit will be very difficult. The closest I've been to quitting was If admins didn't take down that rape depiction.
