Government Structure

Council of 13 - made up of 13 members of Legion who are selected by the council. The council serves for life, though must pass a comprehensive yearly medical exam to ensure the physical and mental abilities are present to properly serve. to that end all Council of 13 members must pass the Legionnaire General Officer Physical and Mental Readiness test on a yearly basis.

Parliament - made of members from the 139 districts of Legion. Each district sends two members of parliament. The majority party of Parliament forms a government by electing a Prime Minister.

Prime Minister - elected by the Majority party of Parliament. Re-elected every 6 years or sooner if a vote of no confidence is passed.

Legion Army

1st through 7th Regimental Combat teams

Legion builds its strength around the regimental combat team. These highly versatile units are self contained units that can serve independently or as part of a larger unit. Further, additional units can be attached to an RCT bringing it from regiment all the way to brigade or even divisional strength depending upon operational needs.

1st through 7th RCTs are Infantry centric formations with an attached unit of armor.

The typical structure of an RCT is as follows:

RCT Commander

Assistant Regimental Commander

Intelligence    Medical      Logistics           Engineering         Battalion               Battalion                Battalion

Services and Support Battalion that makes up the              1st to 4th             5th to 8th                9th to 12th

Intel, Medical, Logistics, and Engineering cap-                    companies           companies              companies

abilities of an RCT - roughly 1200 men.                               1000 men            1000 men               1000 men

This basic formation can also include a Military police detachment, Artillery Company, Air Defense Company, Scouting Company, helicopter units, and whatever else is needed to satisfy the needs of a Regimental Combat team during operations.

Legion Heavy Division

This unit consists of the 8th, 9th, and 10th Armored regiments. It is also contains the 14th RCT, an infantry centric formation. Further, it is supported by an independent Services and Support Brigade, an Engineering Regiment, and an Aviation Regiment.

Legion Active Specialists Reserves

The Active Specialist Reserves of Legion consists of the thousands of men who fill out the specialist roles of Legion. The Military Policemen, the Engineers, the Medics, and so forth belong to highly active regional companies that serve locally and abroad as mission requirements dictate. An active reserve Legionnaire can expect to serve 2 weeks out of every month. Giving these difficulties, most Legion Active Reserve Companies are matched geographically so that jobs in the private sector can be filled. Incentive programs via tax reductions are available to encourage private sector business to assist with the hiring of Active Reserve partners.

These active reserve program allows Legion to keep vitally needed skills in the workplace and at the ready for Legion's needs in the field.

Legion Airborne

The Legion Airborne Division consists of the following regiments.

501st Parachute Regiment

502nd Parachute Regiment

503rd Parachute Regiment

504th Parachute Regiment

Each is 1500 men strong. These 6000 men are supported by the 1st Airborne Services and Support Brigade consisting of 2500 men.

The Legion Airborne Division is designed for rapid deployment. The equipment assigned to the division is capable of being parachuted into action. Heavier equipment can be deployed in later waves, but is not kept in the divisional stores. Each of the men and women in this Division is required to graduate Jump School, which is a 6 week course designed to hone the future paratroopers in much the same way the six week Marine Infantry school is designed.

Legion Marines

11th RCT

12th RCT

Legionnaires who choose naval service are given an additional 6 weeks of amphibious assault training.

Legion Special Forces

1st Special Forces Group 160 men

2nd Special Forces Group 160 men

3rd Special Forces Group 160 men

Legionnaires who qualify for Special Forces training will speak at the minimum of three languages, one being either an Asian or European language. Further, they will have a bachelor's degree and have served in active duty for a period of four years. Service in Port of Sudan's Imports and Exports Paramilitary Group counts towards Special Forces Service Requirements.

Legion National Guard

This somewhat revolutionary idea to Legion calls for a series of Military Districts that go about the recruiting and paying of locally based units. Historically speaking Legion tends to go directly from active service to inactive service with results that have varied over the years. The Legion National Guard calls for 8 Brigades in 8 different Military districts.

Each Brigade includes two Regimental Combat Teams along with locally recruited specialists for the various specialist roles needed to be filled in the unit's order of battle.

The 13th Regimental Combat Team, having a long history of poor service due to the unlucky number of the unit, is considered the Ghost Regiment and has been skipped over in favor of the 14th RCT.

15th RCT - 1st Military District National Guard Brigade

16th RCT  - 2nd Military District National Guard Brigade

18th RCT  - 3rd Military District National Guard Brigade

20th RCT  - 4th Military District National Guard Brigade

22nd RCT - 5th Military District National Guard Brigade

24th RCT  - 6th Military District National Guard Brigade

26th RCT  - 7th Military District National Guard Brigade

28th RCT - 8th Military District National Guard Brigade

All of the Active Duty Legion training schools and camps are open to the National Guardsmen for training and educational purposes. Guardsmen can expect to spend 2 weekends a month and 1 month a year at drill. Further, they are subject to random call up under the National Defense Authorization Act, which allows the Prime Minister to call a National Guard unit or Guardsmen into active service for a period of six months before an Act of Parliament is needed to prolong the deployment.

Unlike the Regular Services RCTs, a National Guard RCT is one battalion larger. The extra battalion allows each RCT to house many of the specialists troops required to recreate a mirror image of the RCT via reactivated inactive Legionnaires. This means, most National Guard RCTs, have a surplus of Officers, NCOs, and specialists available to them.
