International Border Crossings were suddenly and without warning closed until further notice. The San Ysidro Port of Entry which is the main border crossing would suddenly close its barriers and refuse any vehicle or person permission to cross in or out without the correct paperwork. The usual well known line of endless cars coming in and out would give way to less packed roadways, as the country closed the border.

 

The Baja California Republic Government would release the following :

 

 


The Land Air and Sea borders are closed until further notice. We are going through a political transition and we would like to do this in isolation. The Baja California Republic Government will release a subsequent statement when this period of isolation is completed.

 

Any deliberate violation of Baja California Republic sovereignty will be dealt with accordingly.

A whole month would pass with the Baja California Republic safely hidden behind its curtain of isolation. Political reforms which would implement vital economic policies to safeguard what little Industry the country had. The isolation would end with the following announcement:

 

 


 

Baja California Republic Government Announcement

 

The Land Air and Sea borders are now reopened. The Baja California Republic Government however had introduced a Visa System which all people entering the Baja California Republic must obtain before travel.

 

Holiday Visas are available, subject to a two week validation period. You must purchase these a month before travel. They are priced at Sixty Dollars per person,

 

Working Visas are available for people wishing to do part time work at regulated establishments, though these are subject to heavy restrictions and are valid for only six months. Applications for Renewal must be made at least a month before expiration and are subject to the Baja California Immigration Authority. Price is Five Thousand Dollars.

 

Permanent Residence Visas are available although they are subject to heavy restrictions. These are a precursor to Permanent Citizenship. You must renounce your previous Citizenship once accepted to confirm Permanent Residence. These cost Five Thousand Dollars.

 

Any person who tries to break conditions of either the Holiday or Work Visas are subject to a heavy fine of Twenty Thousand Dollars, immediate deportation without appeal and permanent ban from the country.

With this referendum completed, ground and air forces would be moved in to take over security from the American Commonwealth. At the same time the first preparations would be made for the inclusion of the protectorate into what would be a relatively enlarged state which would be called the United Mexican States, with the Capital moved to Ciudad Juarez.

An upgrade for existing F-14s, giving them High End Integrated Nav Attack Pods, Upgraded Ground Attack modes for APG-71 Radar (based on the AWG-9) The Super Tomcat (ASF-14) would be a new build, highly updated version of the legendary F-14. A true “Super Tomcat” in every sense of the word, the machine would boast a large increase in Internal Fuel (over it’s already massive capacity) via thicker wings and larger over Intake “Shoulders.” The Aircraft would have an all new Digital Flight Control System with Larger Surfaces, dropping its minimum speed by upwards of 20kts. It would utilize a more powerful Afterburning Turbofan for it’s Power Plant, allowing Sustained Super Cruise of Mach 1.3+. Airframe Enhacements would allow the Aircraft to reach over 77 degrees of sustained AoA but Thrust Vectoring was also to be part of the new design.

Mexican Special Forces Corp formed. It is a Special Forces Corps unified command with 3 Special Forces Brigades, a High Command GAFE group, a group assigned as an Airborne Brigade and several Amphibious Special Forces Groups.

 

The Special Forces Brigades consist of nine SF battalions. The 1st Brigade has the 1st, 2nd and 3rd Battalions; the 2nd Brigade has the 5th, 6th, 7th and 8th Battalions; and the 3rd Brigade has the 4th and 9th Battalions and a Rapid Intervention Force group.

 

High Command Special Forces Airmobile is a Special Operations Unit of the Mexican Army. It's a group with no more than 100 members, carefully selected from the Mexican Army Special Forces Corps and specially trained in Counter Terrorist tactics. The unit's mission is to carry out the most delicate operations ordered directly by the President and the Secretary of National Defense.

 

The Amphibious Special Forces Groups are trained in amphibious warfare, they give the army extended force to the coastal lines.

Naval Infantry Force formed. The main task of the Infantería de Marina is to guarantee the Maritime Security of the country's ports and External and Internal Defense of the Country. To accomplish these responsibilities, the Corps is trained and equipped to take on any type of Operations from Sea, Air and Land.

 

To accomplish the necessary services and tasks, the Naval Infantry's overall responsibilities are to develop amphibious naval capabilities in the areas of operations of the Navy in order to mobilize naval troops immediately and decisively.
 
The Naval Infantry execute the following tasks:
- Command and Control: Planning, Preparation and Conduct of Operations.
- Amphibious Assault: To execute Amphibious Operations as part of a Naval Force.
- Air Assault: To run Infiltration Operations in areas of difficult access.
- Amphibious Command: To execute Special Operations such as: Reconnaissance, Incursions, 0 - --- Urban Combat and to support other Regular Operations.
- Combat Support: To execute operations in support of Artillery in the development of Amphibious and other Regular Forces Operations
- Reconnaissance: Operations to obtain information to support Operational Units.
- Immediate Response: To run Operations in Emergency Situations, to help the civilian population.
 
 
The Marine Forces are deployed under the following Marine Corps units:
 
Two Amphibious Reaction Forces: Deployed along the country's coastline, comprising Amphibious Infantry Battalions, Artillery Battalions, Amphibious Commando Battalions, Boat and Vehicle Battalions and Amphibious and Services Battalions.

All M109A4 155mm Self Propelled Howitzers upgraded to M109A5 Variant. Replaces 155mm M185 Cannon in M178 Mount with 39 Caliber 155mm M284 Cannon in the M182 Mount, giving the A5 a Maximum Range of 23,500 Meters with Unassisted Projectiles and 30,000 Meters with Rocket Assisted Projectiles (RAP Rounds). The Vehicle can carry 36 Complete Rounds of Ammunition, has a 440hp Engine instead of the Standard 405hp Engine.
 
All M198 155mm Howitzers in Mexican National Army use replaced by the M777 155mm Howitzer. Other services retain the M198.

All F-4E Phantom II Interceptor Fighters are removed from use. Four Squadrons of F/A-18D Hornet Multi Role Fighters enters service,

The results of the election meant that the Mexican Democracy Party and President David Gonzales would return to power, meaning that the promised reforms and modernisation would continue. The war with the MLA would also continue, with the Mexican Liberal Party's pledge to negotiate a treaty with the MLA being decisively rejected by the voters.

A Major Reorganisation is enacted as the focus on defending against more internal threats than outside conventional threats, plus the monetary cost of maintaining such a large armed forces would mean that the Strength of Current Divisions would be reduced to a smaller more manageable Force. Less heavily equipped Divisions for the current war against the MLA and potential future Counter Insurgency Warfare Missions would be created.
 
Eight Armoured Divisions would be reduced to Four
Eighteen Mechanised Divisions would be reduced to Nine
Thirty Infantry Divisions would be reduced to Twenty
Ensenada Division (All Female Infantry Division) would be retained
Four Air Assault Brigades would be reduced to Two
