Neo no one is criticising the use of peace mode for strategy. It's just they most of us believe alliance leaders should only use it while restocking nukes to go again.

 

NSO aren't at war due to the actions of members but the actions of the government. Dilber, Corinan and Rayvon in peace mode shows exactly how they are leading, they hide while the members carry the can. Dilber who is directly responsible was one of the first to run and cower while the members now live with the consequences of his actions.

This is a nicely constructed DoW by NpO. I mean, quoting the attacked as plotting against you AND saying CBs are irrelevant -- that's some pretty incriminating stuff right there. People will disagree or whatever, but as with Ai's attack on Umb, it seems justifiable to me. Of course many a person will post suggesting the true reason for war is this or that, but, as an uninvolved party, I'm inclined to view the reason given as sufficient even if it's not the entire motive behind this war, as is likely the case.

 

I mean, could this war have been averted? Sure, but who wants that? Lulz. Anyway, hopefully everyone can have fun and keep the butthurt to a minimum!

To all the people saying that NpO is scared or that there was no intention of starting a war.

 

The fact is you made your desire to hit them very public, already starting during the Equilibrium War with people like Dilber going out of his way to voice his intent. You then after the war went on to build a coalition and recruit support. This is all in public record. Quite simply, only after news about the TOP-NpO treaty leaked did the rumours about these plots stop. Do I believe you still intended to start a war in October against them? Of course you didn't, you know better than to attack someone with massive support. Would you however attack them if the situation changed and it became politically and militarily viable? Of course you would. 

 

The New Polar Order like so many alliances before her saw the NSO for what it is, a future enemy with enough political minds to set up a new coalition if things changed. The New Polar Order did what any alliance would do in their position, they took proactive steps to combat a future threat and thus guarantee future security. Does this mean they are afraid? Of course it doesn't, it just means they have their heads in the right places and aren't waiting for the enemy to come to them.

No you didn't declare on NG because you didn't want to trigger our allies.  We both know this and everyone else does too.  NSO/NG haven't talked "roll Polar" in so long I don't even remember.  And you were the ones who attack us last war.  Even so, we are past it.  We have mutual allies even.  You know this is just a TOP led grudge war on NPO and us.  If you want to burn political capital for people that already are planning to backstab you, so be it.

"TOP led" heh heh.  This war was conceived in EQ, only the details needed gestation.  TOP's interests aligned, nothing more.

 

You all hatched your devilish little plan, that it went to the backburner isn't anyone's problem except your own.  I expected GOONS to attack CoJ any minute until our disbandment for attempting to bring a coalition against them in 2010.  You don't get to escape your intent simply because your ends didn't meet your needs.

It was Caustic who was driving that hard on their end and I've actually not seen a huge amount of them going for Polar since then. NSO on the other hand have still tried to bang that drum in the back channels. At the start it was an easy target and a score they felt needed to be settled. Sadly for them Polar finally realised that to get back into a prominent situation they had to change some of what they did and stop being seen as a victim all the time. I for one congratulate Dajabo on his actions and credit him for bringing Polar to this point.

Most disappointing part of this thread was finding out Dev Castor was in MI6.

No, the worst was seeing all those Combine nations (including 2 of the top 10) about to get hit. Sucks to get caught up in this. Good luck old friend.

 

The fact that people (Polar) are making comments about using peace mode is hilarious. Yeah outnumbered 7 to 1 but we're not going to use the tools at our disposal to limit damage on us and maximize it on you, because that makes sense!

I made no comments about the general membership. What I have a problem with is leadership that has called for a war for years and dragged their members into war, hiding. The common members that will take the worst smackdown likely have no idea why NSO even hated NpO. Yet, they will take the brunt of the hit, while the Emperor and his cronies slipped into peace mode.

 

I've led multiple alliances, and I've been declared on by NpO and coalition and have been outnumbered. Do you think I ever slipped into peace mode? Hell no. A leader is to set an example for his membership and fight. A real leader leads from the front. I've gone to PZI for well over a year for leading my alliance into GW3. I took a beating while MoD of IAA and wound up on PZI again. I got smashed while a Triumvir in \m/ and had nothing left. I fought the entire NPO and coalition (The most dominant power bloc in history) for over a year while serving as government in Vox Populi. Never peace mode.

 

I guess some of us are cut out to lead, and others are cut out to administer. You can't call yourself an Emperor or a leader if you don't set the example and have the desire to lead. You are nothing more than the Admin of the alliance.

 

I have no problem with everyday Joes slipping into peace. I would encourage them to do so. If I led them into a war, I wouldn't want them to sacrifice while I felt no pain from my political blunders. There is no way to spin this into a positive action. It is cowardice and weak leadership, and nothing more. I'm not biased, either. I was a NSO ally as recently as last November. I have many friends there. I really expected better of them. This is disappointing.

 

OOC: Hell, I am deployed right now and if hit, I likely won't be even on for a few days to hit back. Yet, it's still not an option for me.

NSO on the other hand have still tried to bang that drum in the back channels. At the start it was an easy target and a score they felt needed to be settled. Sadly for them Polar finally realised that to get back into a prominent situation they had to change some of what they did and stop being seen as a victim all the time. I for one congratulate Dajabo on his actions and credit him for bringing Polar to this point.
