STATEMENT FROM THE ATHENIAN FEDERATION

With recent events patience was running thin, to prevent a continued cat and mouse game both Athens and Cape Town agreed that a show of force was needed. Mere hours after the ruling by the constitutional court two B-10 bombers launched from their base in Tripoli. Using satellite surveillance and of course the knowledge gained from the Seventh Army a key military command structure was identified. With this target in mind the B-10s would proceed. While no resistance was expected a squadron of F-5s would remain at a distance to deal with any Rhodesian troublemakers.

As soon as the bombers were in range, yet still over the Congo protectorate, a total of 32 ER-M-51s(hypersonic cruise missiles) would be launched aimed at the target. Each missile of course armed with a HDRM warhead.

Minutes after the strike a message from the Office of the Exarch would be sent.

"The patience of the Exarchate is getting more and more limited by the day. Rhodesia-Nyasaland will restore the law aimed at creating a proper racial balance or more attacks will follow."

THIS IS NOT A DRILL - THIS IS NOT A DRILL
EMERGENCY EVACUATION IN PROGRESS
THIS IS NOT A DRILL - THIS IS NOT A DRILL

EMERGENCY BROADCAST SYSTEM - At 12.44AM (Local Time) at least 30 fragmentation warheads hit the Headquarter of the Rhodesia Nyasaland Security Forces in Livingstone, killing 38 and injuring 91. The Commander in Chief of the Rhodesian Army, Field Marshall John Peter Walls, died in the blast. At least 26 members of the Security forces are reported dead, while 12 were civilian employees. The fragmentation damaged several sorrunding structures and vehicles injuring passers-by in the vicinity. The local Emergency Services are struggling to deal with the unprecedented flow of injured and people in need of medical assistance.

Air Raid sirens have subsequently alerted the population of Livingstone asking for volunteers to donate blood to local Emergency Relief points dislocated around the city. The chaos followed by the initial strikes have caught the population completely unprepared and the outdated radar systems have failed to intercept the upcoming threat.

State President Ian Smith declared the State of War, transferring all authoritative power to the Office of the State President who addressed the International Community in a desperate cry for help.

State President Ian Smith

"Nations of Planet Bob,

This is desperate cry for help addressed to all the Nations of Planet Bob. We are a harmless, peaceful and democratic nation and and the efforts of our democratic institutions to counter the apartheid laws imposed by the Exarchate of Africa have been met with a deadly attack in the heart of our capital city.

The very existance of our Federal Republic is at stake, our defenses are not capable of countering the Athenian menace. The People of Rhodesia Nyasaland are facing an unprecedented emergency and we have no means to defend ourselves against their weapons.

We lack the resources to provide assistance to our population, our Emergency Services are engulfed and paralyzed by the chaos erupted after the attacks. Our police forces are uncapable of containing the panic spread among the civilian population and several cases of looting have been reported. Estimates report dozens dead and injured, the count will increase as rescue crews struggle to reach the survivors trapped under the ruins of the Headquarter of the Rhodesia Nyasaland Security Forces.

Help us, help us defend democracy, freedom and equality. Help us to defend our people from imperialism and autocracy. This.. might be my last message as State President, so.. people of Planet Bob: This is the cry of the Rhodesian people, this.. is the cry of our children, our future, this.. is the cry of all the free and democratic values we share and we believe in.

God bless you.. and may God have mercy on Rhodesia Nyasaland.."

"The Principality of Tikal would like to know whether Athens would cease its attacks on Rhodesia Nyasaland if a number of coloured citizens from other nations, such as Tikal, volunteered to take up residence in the small African nation.

If that is so, we request Athens to cease its attacks for the time being, as approximately two thousand people of colour, all with proven African ancestry, have petitioned our government to permit them to travel to Rhodesia Nyasaland.

The by Athens so beloved 'Racial Balance' will be restored within 48 hours if you allow our people to travel to Rhodesia."

Classified: To Athenian Federation

On behalf of the United Republic of Bolivia, if permitted by the Athenian Federation, The Blue Cross, a medi-aid foundation located headquarters in Tarija, Bolivia would like to begin aid distribution to the clearly overwhelmed Rhodesian peoples'. We'd also like to mention that Prime Minister Robles is still with the State President of Rhodesia-Nyasaland and are requesting an armed escort, Athenian or Otherwise, to bring our Prime Minister, Secretary of Foreign Affairs, and our Diplomatic team out of Rhodesia while this war is at hand.

"While harmony between and among the ethnicities of a people is undeniably important, Austria is hopeful that a peaceful settlement will be found. We urge the continued patience of our neighbor, and a broader outlook on the part of the Rhodesians. Let us remember that action taken by both parties is in the name and interest of the Rhodesian people, and any war started will come primarily at their expense. It will be their lives lost when a stubborn government refuses to compromise with their protectors, and it will be the very minorities Athens aims to protect who will be highest among the casualties if a fully armed conflict does indeed come to pass. Yes people desire justice, and freedom- but more so do they seek stability and peace." - Velimir of Metternich

"The Grand Republic urges the government of Rhodesia to comply with the will and direction of the Exarchate. Athens has stepped in to be the guiding hand of Africa after the fall of South Africa. Whilst we smaller nations of Africa may not agree with the Exarchate's directives it would be best to follow them as in doing so we will have the chance to grow and prosper and perhaps you may even be granted the time and opportunity to explain your opposition to the Exarchate's directives."

"Open defiance is not the way."

Classified to the Office of the Exarch

The Grand Republic wishes to know if we can offer any assistance to you in these troubling events. We hope our message to Rhodesia will convince them to change their view but if not we wish to assist you in returning Africa to a land of peace and stability rather than stay silent in the sidelines.

The Federal Republic of Rhodesia Nyasaland will never accept another apartheid. We cannot meet the requests of the Athenian Federation.

The Athenian Federation demands that we implement a new apartheid law that discriminates people because of their color. They want to force us to implement racial engineering policies in our country after the long struggle against apartheid in the past, and we simply cannot meet their requests.

You refuse to meet requests that whilst distasteful to you will not result in anyone's deaths but instead choose to stand against the Exarch which almost certainly will result in people's deaths. The choice is yours either agree to the Exarch's request now and work with her to come to some sort of agreement or reasoning. Or stand against her and have the blood of your people on your hands.

The Norse Kingdom urges all sides to show restraint in the matter. No more blood needs to be shed, but the involved parties do need to sit down at a table and talk and put a hold on gunboat diplomacy. Copenhagen is open as neutral ground should this be an acceptable offer.

We are also of the opinion that the Grand Republic should allow Athens to speak for itself and leave the matter to be discussed between the belligerents involved.

Field Marshall Constantine Chiwenga, Commander in Chief of the Rhodesian Army, Governor General of the South African Republic of Rhodesia Nyasaland.

RADIO RHODESIA-NYASALAND - The new Commander in Chief of the Rhodesian Army, Field Marshall Constantine Chiwenga, ordered his troops to stand down and return to the barracks. A white flag has been reported flying on the top of the Presidential Palace. Field Marshall Chiwenga, who assumed the role of Governor General of Rhodesia Nyasaland, addressed the nation in a radio broadcast, announcing the formation of a new Provisional Military Government.

The Provisional Military Government of Rhodesia Nyasaland led by Governor General Constantine Chiwenga, estabished the South African Republic of Rhodesia Nyasaland (Afrikaans: Zuid Afrikaanse Republiek van Rhodesie-Njassaland) as successor state of the now defunct Federal Republic. The new entity will most likely preserve all previous republican institutions, while implementing reforms to the political system of Rhodesia in order to guarantee national stability.

The Junta also approved two new decrees. The first one replaces the current flag of Rhodesia Nyasaland with a new flag largerly inspired by the post-Transvaal South African flag. The second decree transfers all authoritative power to Field Marshall Ciwenga and the Provisional Military Government, de facto excluding the Federal Assembly from its legislative task. However, Governor General Chiwenga promised to hold democratic elections by the end of November.

"People of Rhodesia Nyasaland this is Field Marshall Chiwenga speaking,

The Rhodesian Security Forces have taken control of state medias and government facilities in order to restore peace and come to a cease fire with the Athenian Federation. We ask you to remain calm and cooperate with Security Forces to make sure that everything can return back to normal as soon as possible.

State President Ian Smith is safe, protected by Security Forces in the Presidential Palace and has granted me full authoritative power over the nation. From now on, public gatherings are banned. This is a temporary measure to help us assist the population and make sure the emergency services can reach critical areas.

Also, considering that polling stations have been subsequently abandoned along with all the votes casted in the ballots, we have reasons to believe that any official outcome might have been compromised by voluntary or involuntary manipulation and for this particular reason, the General Elections are declared null and void.

The Provisional Military Government of the South African Republic of Rhodesia Nyasaland will keep Republican institutions alive and functional. Our priorities are stability and prosperity. Free elections will be held by the end of November.

God bless you and God bless Rhodesia."

"The Amazon Republic has no idea what is going on, doesn't really care, but will admit that the above statement seems to make a great deal of sense, particularly the last line. Should either party need financial assistance in attending such a meeting, low interest loans can be made avaliable. Likewise, a discount will be arranged through the Amazon Republic's Trade School system for a special course of study for all parties in interpersonal relationships in a class titled, Making Friends And How to Play Nicely With Others. Should the Grand Republic need help attending the class, a Short Bus can be organized."

The Grand Republic has never and will never speak for the Athenians we were simply offering advice to the Rhodesian government, due to our proximity, for avoiding any further possible fatalities. As for the offer from the Amazon Republic we must decline. Furthermore we shall offer no more on this subject and shall just await the outcome.

Tianxia would like to note that the ideas that nations can do whatever they want without eliciting a strong response from others are extraordinarily ahistorical.  In fact intervention and broad support for intervention was a common place thing in modern day history.  We point to the Wars of Foreign Aggression launched against the Neo Triyunican Empire when it was defending territory occupied by Japanese Fascists.  The principle motives of intervening were that the foreign powers felt that the Empire had gone too far in what was an internal matter when it attacked Japanese Forces on its own soil.  These ideas were further perpetrated when illegal wars of aggression were launched by fascists such as the Martenist Fascist War of Aggression against Finland and the Fascist and the Neo Imperialist Wars of Aggression against Tahoe.  There was also the Stalinist-Fascist Wars of Aggression in Germany.  In all these instances wars were principally fought over internal matters.  The difference between then and now is mostly material.  Athens has stuck to its guns for several years in foreign policy building a reputation for credibly using military forces, while most of the nations objecting or passive aggressively objecting have failed to do so.  Its not the first nation to enjoy an advantageous position.  The Fascist Bloc through many years dominated the World in legitimacy, states such as Germany and Transvaal were given undue deference despite their fascist tendencies.  Only when strong revolutionary powers such as China and later France, and Greece arose were they truly challenged head on.  Athens is being condemned for executing a competent foreign policy and now being in a position to advance that foreign policy.

Is inherently hypocritical.  With making no judgement on the contents of what political system is superior to another, anyone can see Athens is interacting in a world where it did not make the standards and rules, but is rather following them.  Everyone has equal rights to take advantage of these realities.  One should not act weaker than one is. That said, we do acknowledge that here are certain advantages to a system of international laws and international norms.  It is something we generally support, however, we also note for the most part the people objecting to this measure on in favor of regional reactionary blocs rather than internationalism and are thus the heirs in spirit to those who sheltered the fascist regimes of the past, and the principal obstacle to any sort of common international norm today.

Decree from the Office of the Exarch

The Exarchate of Africa and by extension the Athenian Federation are pleased to see Rhodesia Nyasaland has realized the errors of its way and has taken steps to correct these. As such we will hold off on further military action while we observe the changes under Field Marshal Chiwenga.

We also thank the Grand Republic for their voice of support and sanity in these times.

Paraguay sees the Anti-White Immigration bill as a violation of fundamental human rights. Yes, there may be a large number of whites to blacks ratio in the country however denying entry to persons based upon skin color is unacceptable and outright wrong.

The concept that a state is not responsible to other states is naive and has no precedent in history. For all of known history, from the early city states to the largest empires states were subjected to the will and principles of more powerful powers. Furthermore a state where a clear violation of fundamental principles takes place and with the people unable to resist it is the obligation of stronger states to step in and defend those unable to defend themselves. In this world no one is immune from scrutiny by other states. Furthermore the Athenian Federation, as the protector of Africa, has a unique responsibility to step in and guarantee peace in the region but also to protect those that are unable of defending themselves.

Former Foreign Minister of the last White Party Government, and current head of Peking University Cang Qi was quoted a saying in regards to a student's question about the crisis, "The trouble with borders in Africa is that they are often drawn historically by occupying colonial powers.  Whose to know if this demographic oddity was created out of such a possibility.  Certainly There was deep instability in Africa in recent memory starting with fascism in Transvaal and then aggressive behavior by islamic extremists and the absolute nut jobbery of Aeon/Nod.  Perhaps this has created some sort of inadvertant national gerry mandering creating this oddity.  Perhaps we should have catogaphers, demographers, and geographers examine if refugees were dislocated and give them he right of return as well as adjusting borders to return things to what is historically the norm without instituting racial quotas."

Despite being a known close friend of the Prime Minister, the Prime Minister's spokes person said that while it was an idea to consider, the initiative is up to Athens not Beijing, though if funding was an issue, Beijing had the coffers to help pay for such an undertaking.

"I am worried about the developments in the South African region, particularly in Rhodesia, where racial quotas have been set for the tiny city-state. Not every country has the best interest of civilians at heart; however from the perspective of a North American I think the Athenian Federation can be reasonably called a rational country with a rational government. Although it does not make sense to me why Athens instated racial quotas in Rhodesia - especially since it is a country built on racial equality and has no former violations of human-rights -  there has to be some rational reasoning as to why a global superpower would undertake such extreme policies with military force in a small, isolated country like this. I am sure there is a reasonable explanation but right now I simply do not see it.

But Athens is not a shining pinnacle of racism and hatred - perhaps their idea of who belongs where simply got out of hand."

What peace needed be guaranteed? You talk as if Rhodesia is a warlike state fighting out wars inside itself? Africa was fine on its own without Athens, there was no turmoil with which we've heard. You've come into Africa and imposed unfair laws on countries with no power to refuse you. You are not a protector, but a tyrant. What quarrels did Rhodesia have with other states? None. What issues cropped up other than misplaced lies of Racial injustices in the state? None. You are false, Athens. Soon I hope you come to your senses and realize that not every country needs pay homage. ~ Secretary of State Omar Gonzalez Rodriguez.
