Economy

Today the Madagascar Business Council, representing elite business leaders across the nation, have announced the opening of 5 industrial and factory areas across Madagascar. These new industrial parks are expected to support the growing economy under the new National Government, and to provide jobs that are expected with the signing of new trade agreements. Already the National Transitional Government is in discussion with United Bolivia on trade agreements and oil sales, which is expected to add many jobs to the Madagascar Economy.

Politics

President Jean Nividy and the National Transitional Council begin discussions with United Bolivia over what could be Madagascar's first Trade agreement, one that is expected to add an uncalculated number of jobs to Madagascar's economy. In further political news, the National Transitional Council has created an "Electoral Process Committee" to begin drafting an electoral process for Madagascar's future Congress.

Sports

3 major sports venues in Madagascar have begun renovations to their stadiums in response to growing ticket sales and consumer spending, a result in the growing confidence in the Madagascar economy. Air Light Stadium in Antananarivo, Rupert Ward Arena in Toamasina, and Charlevoix Stadium in Antsiranana are expecting to add thousands of more seats for their multi-venue stadiums. 2 more sports stadiums located in southern Madagascar are under construction.

Nation's First Travel Warning Issued

Today President Jean Nividy signed off on Madagascar's first official travel warning to Madagascar citizens, advising all citizens to reconsider travel to The Norse Kingdom. The travel comes in the wake of a recent N.K government decision to decriminalize all drugs, produce narcotics themselves, and sell them in special drug-use zones. New National Transitional Council guidelines mandate that we here at Madagascar International clarify that a travel warning is not a ban, but only a warning. Madagascar faces a large drug problem due to mass poverty, a problem even now being alleviated as National Transitional Council efforts, in conjunction with the Island Business Council, to start Madagascar's economy have been remarkably successful.

Congress Issues Open Invitation To World's Business Community

Citing the massive upsurge in the Madagascar Economy, the Congressional Economic Advisory Board issued an open invitation for global companies to do business in the country. Referencing a rapidly growing skilled labor force, thanks to newly opened and re-administered schools, the CEAB said that Madagascar is in prime position for business expansion.

"Right now, we have several large, home-grown companies that need a little competition in order to propel to better and further success" Howard Gantz, a spokesperson for CEAB Chairman Antony Jafalis.

"Our economy is currently expanding at an unexpected rate and we're looking for some outside influence to bring in some better technology and needed competition"

Two more Schools in the works, University to be revamped

Following several lengthy meetings with educational groups across the country, Education Department head Jean Lilana and her team have recommended to congressional leadership to invest in at least two more schools in the city of Antsiranana.

"The area continues, despite the boom in our economy and investment in our future, to struggle academically, and as such requires our attention as a nation" Lilana said, during remarks made at the most recent Senatorial hearing.

The head of the DoE also submitted a plan to refurbish and breath new life into the University of Madagascar system. Despite the recent economic output, the University of Madagascar system still struggles to provide students with the proper resources. Further, many of the buildings are either decades out of date, in serious disrepair, or empty shells. The proposal was met with a swift passage of legislation from Congress, which is currently seeking to take all steps necessary to cement the Republik's economic future.

Infrastructure Plan In The Works, Union Vote To Arrive

Clearing the House of Representatives, the Island Infrastructure Act is on course to be brought to the Senate floor, either later this week or next week. The Act in it's current, House approved state would allocate this trimester's spare funding towards updating, repair, upgrading, and adding to Madagascar's Interstate-System. That version of the bill faces tougher opposition in the Senate, where an unusual alliance between United Madagascar and Communist Party Senator's may block the bill. Both UM and CCP want the IIA to instead focus on localized infrastructure, with money going towards business, industry, and city and town upkeep.

Another provision of the bill, which has so far divided all groups, is whether or not to allow the Nation's government employed construction and infrastructure related group to form a Union. Spokespeople from the President's Office have said that he would support allowing the workers themselves to hold a vote to certify unionizing, while UM in particular has stood opposed to the measure. Yesterday the workers voted to have a vote next month, leaving the door open for a short, but undoubtedly brutal PR campaign from both sides of the issue.

Maarjte has been with the company now 10 years and, according to insiders familiar with the company, has been aggressively working her way up the corporate ladder.

"She's definitely been a positive force for the company," says one anonymous source, who asked not to be named because as a news organization we don't make things up.\

"She completely turned around our arms division, and our agriculture division is currently one of the most profitable, servicing the entire continent. I really look forward to see what she does at the helm".

Rumor has speculate that, once in charge, Maarjte will try to consolidate her position, to be not just CEO, but owner as well. Madagascar International could not verify those rumors.

Wojtek Training Nearly Complete, Nation with "Baby Fever"

Previously in recent times, billionaire Pierre Javilosay bought three prototype Wojtek bears from Procintia Armaments. After growing bored, Pierre donated his bears to the Army, which is now pleased to report to the public today that their training has gone along very smoothly and positively.

Well, for 2 of them that is.

Annie, the third and female member of the trio of bears, is currently expecting her first cub with her mate, the complicatedly named "Omissilareneg", and one of the two other Wojteks. She is currently on Maternity leave. This has sparked numerous selfies with fellow service members within the Madagascar Armed Forces with Annie. A military wide baby-shower is being planned for next month
