No, it takes 20 days to complete the deal assuming the tech is accepted on day one. Im not counting the 10 last days of nothing.

And no. Youd make about 1.1 mil. Ive already spent over 3mil for 100 tech at once buying it in 10s.

Those aren't 10 days of nothing, they're 10 days until your slot expires which makes those days still part of the deal.

10 days you have to wait before you enter another deal.

The only way you could spend 3 million for 100 tech is if you did something noobish like buying another 100 tech on top of the 100 tech you already had.

Nope. Granted I have no universities.

I bought the first 50 the cheapest way. The next 50 was bought in 10s.

I mean 3/50 only gives about 1.8 mil. And buying 100 is more expensive than buying 50 twice.

IDK... Maybe Ill try it sometime and find out for sure.

Ive had several tech buyers themselves tell me that 3mil/100 (6mil/200) is much more profitable for only them and that the honest price of tech should be 3mil/50 (6mil/100).

Which I find believable considering pretty much any tech buyer cant get 100t for 6mil if they bought it themselves.

At a 6mil/100t rate, the seller makes a few mil and the buyer gets a crazy ass bargain.

You also have to realize, though, that the profit margin of a tech deal usually goes towards the seller nation becoming a buyer. Too much growth too fast means buyers get barely any tech when the supply gets spread too thin.

No bull? 1.1m for 3m/100 deal, 1.7m for 6m/200 deal. something like 1.8m for 3m/50 deal, 4m for 6m/100 deal.

As a buyer, if you can get 6m/100, you should get it, but with the higher tech rates people want 6m/200 deals, and to limit the population of buyers people also want to use 6m/200 deals to keep sellers from reaching buyer ranges.

Neo, Instr, you both make good points. But were talking about CN here. A pol-sim game with more players than anyone and new players dome every day.

Alduin from my understanding you should start using labor camps after 2000 infra. Hence why Im at 1,999.99. Am I wrong?

A few points:

1. 6/100 is obviously more profitable than 6/200. The numbers I came up with (with universities):

Profits for two $3/50 deals: $4,700,440
Profits for one $6/100 deal: $4,248,468.4

Profits for one $6/200 deal: $2,496,936.8

2. I don't agree with "keep as many people as tech sellers" logic. However, I do agree with giving benefits to my AA's tech sellers. I only guarantee 6/100 tech to my AA's tech sellers since I believe I should be investing in them first, and helping them grow so that they can in turn help nations on our AA grow.

3. If I tech deal with anyone else I'm taking the chance that they're going to run off with my money. If I up gain more tech in return, I'm making the risk more worth it. I've switched people from 3/100 to 3/50 for being reliable before.

4. If you're paid for 6/200, it's almost the same as two 3/100 tech deals, however, you're getting paid up front which allows you to utilize that money to put you at a more profitable infra level quicker. So while you're profiting less per deal, you're still able to build quicker, being why I believe the FAC rate should be 9/200.

So I wouldn't be offended that people are offering you 6/200 tech deals. Just politely decline their offers and find people that are willing to pay your asking price.

Also, the way you should buy tech from 0 to 100 is:
4.5, 10, 10, 5, 10, 10, 10, 10, 5, 10, 10, 5.5

Basically you're trying to get behind these cost spikes:

Tech price per level:

 • 0-5: 10000
 • 4.99-9.99: 100 * tech + 12000
 • 10-14.99: 100 * tech + 14000
 • 15-29.99: 100 * tech + 16000
 • 30-49.99: 100 * tech + 18000
 • 50-74.99: 100 * tech + 20000
 • 75-99.99: 100 * tech + 22000

It should be noted that you only save a couple thousand by purchasing behind the 75 cost spike, but if you're particular and already buy tech to get behind cost spikes you might as well. Free money is free money after all.

On labor camps, 5 of them half your infra upkeep bill. At your infra I was already doing 20 day improvement cycles, so if you're not, you may want to try that if you're in a protected AA. Take your infra bill and divide it by 2 and that's how much labor camps will save you per day. Then factor in the cost to destroy and rebuy 5 of your cheapest eco improvements (that are not clinics or hospitals), as well as 5 labor camps and you'll see if you profit from labor camps at your level. It may not be much of a difference now, but it'll only get bigger as you build infra.

I don't know why you just didn't ask me in the first place. :P

"a typical 3mil/50 gives you about 1.5-1.8mil."

This is from my experience and guides from alliances Ive been with.

the hell have you been smoking? standard 3mil/100 tech deals net you 1.2-1.6mil in cash.

it costs about 600-800k to buy 50tech

___

To buy 50 levels of technology, you will need $576,723.72.

Buy 4.5 levels of tech at $7,600.00 = $34,200.00 (4.5).
Buy 10 levels of tech at $7,600.00 = $76,000.00 (14.5).
Buy 10 levels of tech at $10,802.64 = $108,026.40 (24.5).
Buy 5 levels of tech at $12,900.24 = $64,501.20 (29.5).
Buy 10 levels of tech at $13,249.84 = $132,498.40 (39.5).
Buy 10 levels of tech at $15,347.44 = $153,474.40 (49.5).
Buy 0.5 levels of tech at $16,046.64 = $8,023.32 (50).

(multiply this by 2 for the standard 3mil/100 tech deals.)

You get the exact same amount of money in total.

And no, getting more tech is not a rip-off. It's far cheaper than letting you just build up on your own, isn't it?

Actually, you get 2/3 as much money, when you figure the extra time spent.
