Breaking News - The United Kingdom annexed into the Greater Germanic Reich

 

In an extraordinary session of the Reichstag, Reichstag deputies voted overwhelmingly to annex the Protectorate of the United Kingdom into the Reich. "For years, we have acted as the protectors of the British people. We share a common bond; therefore, it's only natural that we become one." Reichskanzler Eva Schmidt stated after the vote was finalized.

 

Inside of Germany, news of the annexation didn't garner much excited. After all, most Germans were still sour at the previous British administration for causing a regional nuclear conflict. However, the situation in the United Kingdom was much different. Thousands rose up in support of the annexation; while, there were thousands more that protested against it.

 

In the North, hundreds of British citizens, calling themselves "Anti- Thatchers", rose up in protest, destroying and vandalizing symbols honoring Margaret Thatcher. This group begged the Germans to revitalize the North, an area that pro thatcher supporters ravaged with their policies and decadence. German central authorities payed close attention to the first two protest; however, they could care less for the anti-thatcher protest. In some cases, German secret police instigated the violence.

Tianxia registers its formal diplomatic protest with the cultural imperialist policies of Germany.  The Empire advocate for the upmost autonomy at bare minimum.  These policies are the precursor to Neo Nordlandism!

Just days after the announcement of the annexation, it was announced that Jane II was restored to the throne and appointed Gauleiter of the United Kingdom. Jane II, one of the most successful leaders of the United Kingdom, returned to lead her people into the future. Personally appointed by Reichskanzler Eva Schmidt, Jane II was given broad powers to lead the United Kingdom, with little interference from Berlin.

 

"This is unification and not subjugation," Jane II said during a broadcast to the British people. "There will be no cultural assimilation, no banning of religion, and no changes to our daily way of life. The United Kingdom will continue to operate just as it has for many years.

Throughout the nation, the Reich Ministry of Propaganda began to produce thousands of anti-communist posters, which were distributed throughout the nation. Of course, this came as no suprise, with the rise of communism in the baltic states and with a communist government rising in the Caucuses Union. In the Reich Chancellery, hard liners in the Nordic Socialist government were calling for action against the communist.

 

"Our eastern borders are in trouble of being overrun by these communist hordes. Livonia is preaching about slavic unity and forming a Comintern; while, the Caucuses Union, also known as the Soviet Union, is looking to spread it's own brand of communism. Party comrades, the threat is real, and I do believe we should take the necessary action." Ardus Kaine said, standing infront of other government officials.

 

Reichskanzler Schmidt shuffled through a list of documents and began to speak, "Well, this growing 'Red Tide' is quite alarming. Livonia is preaching about Slavic Unity, which could bring some pretty nasty things, if this goes to the Russian Empire's head. On the other hand, the Caucuses Union does represent a threat; although a small one. However, I do agree that an example must be made, and that we must begin our own crusade against this scum."

Despite the minor skirmishes in the East, Reichskanzler Eva Schmidt took the time to visit Soldatenhalle, the national resting place for German soldiers. Just like past leaders, she visited the monument once a month, in order to show that those brave men and women were not forgotten. However, this visit had a different meaning. This visit was meant to remember the thousands of soldiers, who died defending Western European culture against the great Mongol hordes from the east.

 

 

"Soldiers of the Greater Germanic Reich." Eva Schmidt said to a crowded room. "Behind me stands a monument to the ten thousand German soldiers, who died defending Western European culture against the mongol hordes. Those ten thousand men valiantly against overwhelming odds. They did no waiver, and they did not falter. Because of that, we have enjoyed a decade of peace on our eastern borders; however, the Chinese refuses to let peace prosper. The current Chinese government continues to breed and support anti-German sentiment in the Caucuses. Such sentiment has resulted in the Soviet Union attacking the our peaceful nation. As the fair and just leader of this Reich, I'm not going to stand on a pedestal and preach injustice. As a matter of fact, I apologize for some of the methods used in that war, and I'm willing to meet with leaders from the Soviet Union. However, the Chinese refuses to let go of the past, and they continue to act as if they're god's gift to the world. If you'd listen to any Chinese leader, you're lead to the believe that China is fighting to free all nations of the world from tyranny, however, that is far from the truth. The great mongol horde of liars has a base in every sphere of the world, and it is the Chinese that pre-emptively struck the Greater Germanic Reich in a bid to "free" Central Asia. The Chinese are exhibiting the same arrogance that lead to the justified Opium Wars, and the justified quelling of the Boxer Rebellions. We can now relate to the struggles of Akieko, in her hopes for a free Japan. Comrades, the Greater Germanic Reich will continue to be a nation of peace, and we will continue to stand as the guard of Western European culture."

 

After the short speech, Schmidt saluted and bowed her head to the mural of fallen German soldiers.

The Persecution of the Germanic Reich

It cannot have escaped your eyes, as usual every generation international forces assemble against the German empire and those nations contained within. Not out of true care for the people or for human rights but for bloodlust and conquest under the guise of liberating people from fascism. It is a common mistake often made in history to compare Nordic Socialism to National Socialism but the two could not be more apart. Where National Socialism advocates the superiority of a single nation of people and need to eradicate ‘lesser’ peoples the Nordic Socialist believes in growing beyond the social construct that is a nation. In this Nordic Socialism shares a close link to the values of the Cosmopolitan, a world of strangers where geography or culture has no relevance. A society where your status is defined by the contribution to the state. Does this system establish full equality? No, it is based around benefiting from society to the extent one contributes. In this it is not fundamentally separate from the believes of such thinkers as Karl Marx and Friedrich Engels.

Historically we have seen state actions such as the removal of citizenship of former Austrians used as evidence of nationalist policies but then why was such action not undertaken against all Austrians living within the Reich? Likewise war crimes have also been used as evidence our government is fascist but then what about the atrocities committed by the Empire of Tianxia or by the Athenian Federation? Do these actions turn them fascist?

Contrary to these examples however we see the granting of independence to the Slavic peoples in Ukraine, Poland and Belarus. The establishment of a native government on the British Isles and an apology made for those same war crimes mentioned earlier. As such I present you with the following thesis; Nordic Socialism advocates a society where your contributions to the state and the benefits gained are in full equilibrium, the Nordic Socialist sheds himself from all historical chains and uses nationalities and ethnicities only in word but not in action.

"Reichskanzler, Germans have died defending our eastern frontiers, and we just give them away? If Michael Visari was here, he'd have a.."

 

Eva slammed her fist onto the table, "And that's the problem with this damn party. Michael Visari is responsible for the greatest crime the world has ever seen, and he is still praised. He's lead Europe to ruination once, and he's almost destroyed this country twice. The Visari line is the contiuation of the Marten's family..."

 

Reichspräsident Ardus Kaine stood back, "Such language would have had you shot, if he was still in power. Michael Visari led this country to victory and to great..."

 

Eva stood up and interjected, while pointing at the Reichspräsident, "Careful Reichspräsident..or I'll have you shot for treason. The fact remains. I was appointed to lead this country, and I will do what is necessary to maintain this national government. I shall wipe the slate clean. The Visarist must be minimized if we are to survive..."
