1. It’s Halloween and NATO is celebrating by taking part in that scariest of things: democracy. Elections were held over the last two weeks and these are the results: For Triumvirate: Dev0win Gearhead Warden For Chief Justice: Not the Carlton A spirited race was held for both offices and we look forward to an exciting fall/winter term.
2. It was that time again...Elections! Yay. The Government lineup for this term is Executive Branch: Secretary General: House Deputy Secretary General: Zygon Internal Affairs Minister: Chunky Monkey Foreign Affairs Minister: House Military Operations Commander: Zygon Finance Minister: Scotia the Brave Education: Gandorian We also passed 5 million alliance strength, onto 6 million! o/ Atlantica

4. ZCNA News: Presidential decree dissolves Parliament “Hours of speculation have ended this afternoon as His Excellency the President announced a dissolution of the Senate and the National Assembly due to political gridlock which has paralyzed the government since the last election. In an announcement from the Office of the President, a presidential decree was issued clearing the way for an immediate snap election. Prime Minister Grigorova requested the move as a last resort after the failure of the governing coalition to agree on economic matters and on the parameters of the national budget. The Prime Minister’s Justice & Development Party (JDP) will be seeking a strong enough mandate to govern without the support of the Republican People’s Party (RPP) and to block a strong challenge from the European Future Party (EFP). While all pre-election polls have been inconclusive thus far, all parties have stressed the importance and urgency of having a one party governing majority in the National Assembly. The situation in the Senate is viewed as being less important due to the focus on economic policy and reform, so the most closely watched races will be those between candidates in the National Assembly. Additionally, voters will be asked to endorse the convening of a National Consultative Constitutional Assembly (NCCA) to draft a series of amendments to the Zapadnayan Constitution.”
5. We've recently completed another round of faux-elections and oligarchical/bourgeois reshuffling. The state is growing stronger, and the bureaucracy is expanding to meet the needs of the bureaucracy. Times are prosperous, and just as the great helmsman once foretold, nuclear war has not only failed to impede the march of history, it has quickened its pace- the hour of a true people's victory is upon us. 6. Greetings believers, friends, and heretics, Now that we've returned to a state of peacefulness & enhanced laziness from our previous state of cactus killer machine. Like so... --> ...I come before you all today for a most sanctimonious announcement. We are here to announce the most amazing and ever changing elder tribesman of the great Florida Cactus Alliance. In a most shocking turn of events and a general show of apathy and approval towards the current state of the insanity in the Random Insanity Alliance every single incumbent was re-elected without even a challenger. Thus, as per tradition, we made up random objects for everyone to run and lose against. For Triumvir, we saw im317 (the incumbent) go against a cat. Running on the platform of ending dog privilege in the alliance, the cat won with 57.1% of the vote. For Head of Recruitment, in the most official election of dester55 (the incumbent) vs. a llama (the challenger), we saw the llama win a landslide 66.7% of the voe. For Head of Foreign Affairs, brian (the incumbent) completely forgot to announce his intention to re-run so the government was forced to do some paperwork and choose him for the position. For Head of Economics, we (surprisenly) saw cctmsp13 trimpuh over the Rainbow Sheep () with 55.6% of the vote. This shows his popularly as Viceroy of the RIA for the past several years in that he is able to even overcome the mighty Rainbow Sheep. For Head of Military Operations, we saw biofantic (the incumbent) face off against the dancing banana () and the dancing banana with guns (). In a not so shocking twist the dancing banana with guns won with 50% of the votes. For Head of Internal Affairs, we saw Croix (the incumbent) face off against Cool Spot (). Cool Spot was able to come ahead with 57.1%. For Captain Planet, we saw a close race between Leo, Moth, and Shadow with Moth & Shadow tying with 37.5% each. Thus both become joint Captain Planet for the next two months. Additionally, we also had elections for the im317, Moth, and Shadow of the alliance in which Leo, Shadow, and Moth won respectively. Don't worry, we don't even know what that means either. Thus our government continues being run by emoticons and remains as follows: Triumvirate XII: im317 - Ogaden - Shadow Cabinet XCVII: Head of Economics: cctmsp13 Head of Foreign Affairs: Brian Head of Internal Affairs: Croix Head of Military Operations: biofantic Head of Recruitment: dester55 Special Advisiors 47 & 48th Captain Planets: Joint Moth & Shadow Cactus Emeritus Agent Lemon Delta1212 Hyperonic Moth Shadow Slayer Thunder Strike Floridian Tribal Elder Apophis775 Jenne God Emperor Shadow Queen aithne Prince of Darkness Jenne Viceroy cctmsp13 Leo Hyperonic im317 Leo Moth Shadow Shadow Moth tl;dr free bacon at http://rialliance.net/index.php
7. VNN News: Voters go to the polls as PM faces tough re-election bid "Citizens of the Serene Republic will once again head to the polls to elect the members of the 12th Parliament. Prime Minister Pavel Rokossovsky is standing for re-election at the helm of the United National Front (UNF) despite lackluster economic performance and poor approval ratings. The Prime Minister has also been heavily criticized for his failure to accomplish any meaningful economic or structural reforms during the last four years. The United National Front will face a strong challenge from an energized Slavic Unity Party (SUP) which has focused it's entire election campaign on delivering 'sustainable economic growth' over the next parliamentary term. Adding to the Prime Minister's woes, pre-election polls show record voter apathy and rising disapproval of the main political parties. In the East Ingushetia Autonomous Community (EIAC), voters will be asked to elect the members of the Regional Parliament under the terms of the new Sakha Agreement. Under the agreement, the constituency boundaries of the province have been redrawn and the regional government has been restructured to promote consensus between separatist and nationalist parties."
8. OOC: Based off rl pro-democracy protests in Belarus, including the Jeans Revolution. IC: Public Elections Completed in Lithuania Election results for the recently created Vilnius and Klaipeda Voblasts have been announced. The ruling Stabiĺnasć Party has won 58 of the 60 new House of Representatives seats, with the remaining two going to the Communist Party of Belarus, which supports the President. 15 of the 16 new Council seats have gone to the Stabiĺnasć Party as well. The Republican Party of Labour and Justice, another ally of the President, has won one seat. Local Selsoviet and Raion level offices were also mainly captured by Stabiĺnasć and its allies, although here the opposition United Democratic Forces of Belarus managed to see some success. Meanwhile, governors for the Vilnius and Klaipeda Voblasts have been appointed by the President. These election results come just before the Presidential Candidates begin their own campaign. The sudden inclusion of Lithuania has greatly affected the composition of the electorate, and the Lithuanian populace has become a target for Presidential candidates that are jostling to gain their support. The recent elections in Lithuania demonstrate that the Stabiĺnasć Party and its allies have clearly succeeded in capturing the votes of the new electorate. General elections are also coming up for the rest of Belarus. - Pravda(OOC: The government run media) Public Another Round of Fraudulent Elections Completed The Belorussian constitution clearly states that the President has the authority to appoint governors. The President had been very good at fulfilling that duty. In fact, he has been so skilled at it that he has also gone ahead and effectively chosen who won the Council and House of Representative seats for Lithuania. The Lithuanian people have been effectively robbed of their right to choose their representatives by rigged election and corrupt officials. Charter97's reporters in Lithuania, have, despite the government's usual repression of free media, informed us of fraud, ballot stuffing, and crimes committed by election officials loyal to the Regime. It is doubtful that the Presidential or even the General elections will be any freer than the ones in Lithuania. Vilnius was once a bastion of democracy in Eastern Europe. Now, it is little more than another emerald in Lukachenko's ill gotten crown. - Charter97(OOC: That opposition group I rp'd back in cnrp2. Also an rl Belorussian opposition group.)
9. Elections in the Confederate Republic of the North Atlantic were a bit wonky. Each governor was elected by popular vote and then a single governor would be elevated to presidential status through national ballot. Similarly, the national senate was elected by the houses of representatives in each individual state from among their own populations which were decided by popular vote. This pseudo-parliamentary bureaucratic compromise, while confusing and needlessly complicated, exemplified the democratic principles of the Confederate Republic, while its commitment to serving the people was shown through extensive checks and balances on the ability of the people to vote for their national representatives. The six governors available for vote are as follows: Dale Hancock (State of Maine / Party to Restore Maine): A proud member of the local, conservative Party to Restore Maine, Dale is committed to pragmatic conservative values. He believes in marriage, is skeptical of government, and has spent a long political career fighting liberals at every turn. While he ain't the smartest tool in the shed, the bluntest, or the cleanest, he certainly is a tool and his policies reflect that so well you could eat off them. Pamela Brown (New Brunswick / Democratic Republican Party): A member of the centrist Democratic Republican Party, Pamela Brown, a blonde, is running a far-left platform aimed at appealing to younger voters. Among her positions are that education needs to be funded, that the police need to be funded, and that conservatives "just don't get it". Popular among soccer moms and the middle class, she is even less interested in changing the status quo. Batman (New Hampshire / Libertarian Party): An eccentric candidate from an eccentric state, Batman won nearly 70% of the vote to become New Hampshire's governor. Committed to saving damsels in distress and an outspoken fan of fedoras, he believes that most of the country's problems could be solved by people being more like he is. While he could stand to lose some weight and he hasn't caught a criminal in years, he nevertheless enjoys flaunting his billionaire playboy lifestyle that he assures voters they can have too if they'd just work a bit harder. Dylan Weed (Nova Scotia / Green Party): Another candidate running on a pseudonym, Dylan Weed is an immigrant from British Columbia who lives up to his name and currently has arrest warrants in every state in the Confederacy except for Nova Scotia. Among his policy ideas include the government subsidization of prostitution, the government subsidization of weed, and cutting taxes... but only for himself. Sir Walter Crowley (Prince Edward Island / Monarchist Restitution Party): A self-proclaimed noble, Sir Walter lives in a small apartment on the south end of Prince Edward Island and, if elected, would do away with the office of president entirely and install himself as a hereditary, constitutional monarch. While his policies beyond that are unknown, he has urged voters to recognize that they are not worthy of choosing their own representatives, as evidenced by their taking him seriously. Abigail White (Vermont / Independent): The only candidate of the bunch who has a degree, Ms. White is a social democratic university professor who doesn't believe in politicians, the police, or money. Her motivation for running for Governor of Vermont was to be able to pardon her anarchist sons who were both, at the time, serving life sentences for hate crimes against white people in which at least 27 bodies were found. White themselves, of course, their entire time imprisoned was spent on suicide watch.
10. Greetings believers and heretics, The Holy Realm of the Cactuar - the Random Insanity Alliance - is pleased to announce our newest government . You may find it very similar to the old government but we assure you that elections were conducted in a fair and democratic manner. For the position of Triumvir was up for election. Shadow announced his intention to re-run and he easily won re-election with 100% of the votes. There were some whispers of it being rigged after some noticed that all 5 options on the poll were in fact all Shadow. Thus Shadow is re-elected to serve his 13th 6th month term. Shadow has served as Triumvir for over 5 years now - since August 10, 2008. For Head of Foreign Affairs, we had a race between robot & creator with RIA FA Bot running against brian. RIA FA Bot is RIA's irc chat bot that hangs out in #RIA. He was elected as HoFA with 84.6% of the votes to brian's 15.4%. brian will likely continue to represent him as HoFA as RIA FA Bot is a bot. For Head of Internal Affairs, we saw a penguin running against Croix. Croix was harshly defeated by the penguin who won with 66.7% of the vote. As the penguin soon ran off and cannot perform his duties, it was decided that Croix may retain the position. For Head of Economics this term, nobody filed their forms to run in time so the election gave two options of 're-electe Mogar anyway' which won with 70% of the votes and 'draft someone else' which lost with 30% of the votes. Thus either Mogar will be re-elected if he feels like it or cctmsp13, Viceroy and one of the longest serving and best HoEs in the RIA, announced he'd be willing to re-take the position. Thus one of them will be HoE once we get around to figuring it out. For Head of Recruitment, was saw a herd of llamas defeat dester with 69.2% of the votes. However, they were disqualified due to not being a individual but a herd. We hope the members of the herd decide to participate in future elections individually For Head of Military Operations, we were too distracted by the ongoing war that we actually completely forgot to hold an election for it. However as the only one who ran was biofantic, he'll be re-elected automatically. For Captain Planet, we saw a race between Baldr and Meatkin Pie. Baldr was elected with 76.9% of the vote. He gained popularity due to the Baldr War and the environmental protection gained from the destruction of technology which occurred from the EMP Nuclear Attacks that occurred and continue to occur between the Random Insanity Alliance and the silly Doombirds. We also saw the election for a new advisor position. aithne announced her intention to run for the position of Queen of the RIA, a promotion from her previous position of HotDoG (Head of the Department of Girls). She easily won with 72.7% and thus has become the first Queen of the RIA. One other election we had was for the position of Shadow of the RIA. After a close race between Shadow, Leo, and Shadow Slayer, Leo came out ahead with 53.8% of the vote. Thus Leo becomes the official Shadow of the RIA. Government for December 2014 & January 2015 Triumvirate XII Shadow im317 Ogaden Cabinet XCVI Head of Economics: cctmsp13 or Mogar Head of Foreign Affairs: RIA FA Bot represented by Brian Head of Internal Affairs: Croix Head of Military Operations: biofantic Head of Recruitment: dester55 Government Advisors 46th Captain Planet: Baldr Cactus Emeritus Agent Lemon Delta1212 Hyperonic Moth Shadow Slayer Thunder Strike Floridian Tribal Elder Apophis775 Jenne God Emperor Shadow Queen aithne Prince of Darkness Jenne Viceroy cctmsp13 Leo Hyperonic Shadow Leo tl;dr You get a title! You get a title! Everybody gets a title!
11. ZCNA News - Third Elections begin "After the lifting of the State of Emergency, Zapadnayan citizens have once again been asked to go to the polls to elect a new government. While the elections have been significantly delayed, reducing the time available for campaigning substantially, it was decided that the elections should proceed without further delay. The Zapadnaya Electoral Council has confirmed that all necessary preparations have been made for the holding of the Presidential and Parliamentary polls. These elections will be the third since the restoration of democracy in Zapadnaya. President Paskal Dragomirov is seeking a new term as President of the Republic and has pledged to lead the charge for the strengthening of the Zapadnayan military and the strengthening of Zapadnaya's diplomatic relationships in the region. In Parliament, Prime Minister Iskra Grigorova is hoping to lead the Justice and Development Party (JDP) to a third Parliamentary majority. The Prime Minister has focused her campaign on achieving sustainable and durable economic growth and expanding exports. With the collapse of the European Community, the European Future Party (EFP) has sought to re frame it's campaign around strengthening ties in Europe in order to boost trade and promote stability. The party has also sought to promote the signing of free trade agreements as key to strengthening trade relationships on the European continent. The party, while not admitting that its support for joining EuroComm may have been mistaken, has acknowledged the 'failure of the stability mechanisms' of the organization."
12. The first national elections for the United States of North America is now underway. This historic event shall determine the first democratically elected government of the nation. Elections will are being held for the President, who will be elected by the national popular vote, and both Houses of Congress. The Presidential Candidates Only two candidates have met the Federal Election Commission's required number of petition signatures to be placed on the national ballot. All other candidates were unable to meet the minimum registration requirements in more than one state. Darren R. Hayes Darren Hayes is the Democratic Party's choice for the candidacy for the presidential election. A lifelong resident of Ohio, Hayes is actually a descendent of President Rutherford B. Hayes, the 19th President of the first United States. After graduating from college Hayes was commissioned as a second lieutenant in the previous US Army where he served in the Rangers. After 10 years he left the army as a major and began his political career as an Ohio state legislator for six years before running for and being elected the governor of Ohio. This year marks the end of his second term. Hayes announced that he would not seek re-election as governor in order to concentrate his efforts on the presidential campaign. Ronald J. Holland Ronald Holland is the Republican Party's choice for the candidacy for the presidential election. A native of South Carolina, Holland is a graduate of the US Naval Academy. Serving for six years, he left the navy and pursued politics as a state legislator then went on to be elected to the US Senate. After the fall of the second USA and the formation of the USNA he was appointed by South Carolina to sit on the temporary national legislature, the precursor to Congress before elections are done. The Parties The parties listed are those that have managed to get on the congressional ballot in more than one state. The details of each party's platform have been included on the issues currently viewed as most important by the voters. Democrats Economic Policy - Tax breaks should be given to small and medium sized businesses and a higher progressive tax on the rich and corporations. Social Policy - Supports the expansion of social services and programs to alleviate and provide a safety net against poverty. Science and education should be further funded by the federal government to promote technological advancement and an educated population. Foreign Policy - The US should become more involved in international affairs, both near home and abroad. Promotion of free trade and international cooperation with other nations of similar values is essential to the economic growth and security of the nation. Defense Policy - A strong national defense budget is essential to the security of the nation. Republicans Economic Policy - Taxes should be lowered for corporations and the rich as job creators. Social Policy - Federally funded social programs should be reduced and/or delegated to the individual states. Foreign Policy - The US needs to become thoroughly involved on the international stage and should find willing international partners to promote the growth of democratic institutions and international security. Defense Policy - The world is a dangerous place and only a strong national defense will ensure the safety of the nation. The military is the only real guarantor of protection and national sovereignty in this world. Green Party Economic Policy - Economic growth should be based on environmentally sustainable policies. Subsidies and funding of green technologies and alternate energy should be given high priority. Social Policy - The federal government has an obligation to provide a social safety net, alleviate poverty as well as promoting education and the arts. Foreign Policy - Push for international participation in global environmental initiatives and agreements. Promote international peace and disarmament. Defense Policy - A strong defense policy is necessary but should not come at the cost of civil and social programs. A balanced military policy is needed to ensure overspending doesn't occur. Libertarians Economic Policy - Elimination of the income tax and an end to government economic regulation in favor of laissez-faire free market policies. Social Policy - Massive reduction and elimination of government services and programs. Privatization of social security and education. Elimination of all welfare programs. Foreign Policy - Non-interventionism and promotion of international free trade. Defense Policy - Military policy geared towards self defense and non-intervention. Constitutionalists Economic Policy - Elimination of the income tax and government deregulation of the economy. Implementation of protectionist trade policies to safeguard American jobs and industry. Social Policy - The US is a Christian nation and should return to the biblical foundations the country was founded on. Foreign Policy - Isolationism. Defense Policy - Strong national defense. OOC: Anyone who has a cnrp2 nation can vote. The poll will run for 72 hours. Disclaimer - I reserve the right to make a final decision on the end results regardless of the poll results. Your opinion really doesn't matter. This is not a democracy! :P
13. Wrong Forum. Disregard and go about your lives. There's nothing to see here.
14. Seventh Duma Elections to be held this week Once again, citizens across the Greater Russian Empire will head to the polls to elect the 701 members of the Russian Federal Duma. This election marks the seventh vote for the Federal Duma since the creation of the Greater Russian Empire and is likely to be watched closely by individuals across the political spectrum. Given the controversy surrounding the sixth Duma elections and their results, most political parties are seeking to avoid a repeat of those elections. Many political analysts believe that the elections present an opportunity to strengthen confidence in the Federal institutions of the Russian state and are expressing the hope that the elections result in a strong mandate to a single political party. With security concerns abroad and economic issues at home, the next government needs a clear mandate and strong support to tackle the various issues facing Russia today. Will the Russian Fatherland Party (RFP) manage to win a second term, or has the election controversy dented their chances? Is United Russia (UR) surging back to triumph, or heading for disaster?
15. Every three months R&R puts democracy in action to find out who will have the honor of herding cats dealing with Fark's constant inebriation explaining people why they should let go of Xiphosis grudges telling people what's up with TIO or Echelon leading our alliance to a safe and prosper future. This time around the Executive race winners were our new President cmf0203 and our new Vice President WarriorSoul, and we invite you to wish them best of luck with their endeavor. We also desire to thank Bambi for his service as President as he's being put out to pasture: we all know we'll need him again sooner or later, so a well-deserved break will help fattening him up. Here's our complete government lineup: President : cmf0203 Vice President : WarriorSoul Minister of Foreign Affairs : MutedFaith Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs : Roxas Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs : carolinachief Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs : Garion Minister of Defense : GreyOps Deputy Minister of Defense: Frederick III Minister of Interior : Chichikov Deputy Minister of Interior : Lyner Deputy Minister of Interior : katashimon13 Minister of Economics : Karl Peters Deputy Minister of Economics : Edward
16. A Totally Spooky Early Halloween Themed Announcement from the Random Insanity Alliance Greetings friends and heretics, The Random Insanity Alliance recently held our bimontly elections and you will find the results below. For our Triumvirate, we had an election between making Shadow the God Emperor and electing Ogaden to replace Hyperonic, who chose not to re-run this term. 85.7% of the vote went to making Shadow the God Emperor so he has been given that position as an advisor while Ogaden has been re-elected into the Triumvirate since we have technically not amended the ConstRItution to have a God Emperor yet. A slight oversight but that shall be corrected in the future. We congratulate Shadow on his new position and Ogaden on this return to the Triumvirate where Shadow also remains alongside im317. This marks the return of the previous Triumvirate of Shadow, im317, and Ogaden that everyone knows and loves. For our 64th Cabinet, we had a range of interesting elections. For Head of Internal Affaris we saw Croix win with 66.7% of the vote against anybody but Croix. Thus Croix will continue his work in the position as he has for the previous many months. For Head of Economics, we saw Mogar win with 66.7% of the vote as well (I can only assume the secret CDS faction voted both of the above in power). We welcome him back as he takes over Ogaden's former position as Ogaden returns back to the Triumvirate. Mogar was once Head of Recruitment back in June/July 2012 so we welcome him back to government. And before anyone tells us how crazy we are for having Mogar in gov, just remember our name and also the fact he has been gov previously a few years back and we are still around. For Head of Foreign Affairs, we saw brian win re-election with 33.3% of the vote. The other 66.7% went to DBDC who was disqualified for not being a single person and not being a member of the RIA. Fun times. With brian taking the position this leads to a majority ex-CDS in the cabinet. We'll have to keep an eye on them. For Head of Military Operations, we saw Moth win with 83.3% of the vote after he showed off his unnatural bloodlust during our DBDC conflict but it was realized that he never actually ran for the position so the runner up biofantic gets re-elected with his 16.7% of the vote. For Head of Recruitment, we saw our board's new cactuar mouse clicker win with 71.4% of the votes. It has shown to be very popular and you should visit our boards to see its silliness. However, as its an inanimate object the runner-up dester55 wins re-election with 28.6% of the votes. For Captain Planet, we saw Mydas of CRAP edge out Meatkin Pie by taking 57.1% of the vote. Congrats to Mydas on being our newest Captain Planet. In our first special election of the term for the position of Leo, we saw Kenny (aka Hyperonic) beat out Leo with 83.3% of the vote. We congratulatec him on his new position. In our second special election of the term for the position of Prince of Darkness, we saw Jenne win with 71.4% of the vote against Ozzy Osbourne. We congratulate Jenne on his new position as well. Government for October & November 2014 Triumvirate XII Shadow im317 Ogaden 64th Cabinet Head of Economics: Mogar Head of Foreign Affairs: Brian Head of Internal Affairs: Croix Head of Military Operations: biofantic Head of Recruitment: dester55 Advisors Captain Planet: Mydas (of CRAP) God Emperor Shadow Prince of Darkness Jenne Leo Hyperonic Viceroy cctmsp13 Cactus Emeritus Agent Lemon Delta1212 Hyperonic Moth Shadow Slayer Thunder Strike Floridian Tribal Elder Apophis775 Jenne Economics Report In these past two months we'd like to report an increase in our tech reserves to approximately 328,611 or 78.1% of our 420,663 infrastructure. 47% of our overall nation strength now comes from our tech while 36% comes from infrastructure, 14% from military, and 4% from land. We would like to thank the following alliances for filling our appetite for tech for the previous two month. Each of the following alliances fed us over 1000 tech in the previous term, all of which are also treaty partners of the RIA: The Random Insanity Alliance for feeding us approximately 13,600 tech for $723,000,000.00. As always RIA members continue to help each other grow and increase tech. We are happy that our inter-alliance tech trading remains our highest source of tech. R&R for feeding us approximately 5,100 tech in exchange for $441,000,000.00. As always they remain our largest foreign trade partner, a position which they have continuously remained as for the entirety of the previous several years, even during previous global conflicts. We thank them for continuously being awesome. The New Polar Order for feeding us approximately 4,400 tech in exchange for $48,000,000.00. A large portion of this tech was sent to us for free to help replenish reserves lost during our nuclear war with the DBDC. We thank our good friends in the New Polar Order for this act of generosity. We love you guys. :) The Congolese Soukous Society for feeding us approximately 4,400 tech in exchange for $516,000,000.00. We are happy our new buddies on maroon have risen up to become one of our largest trading partners. The Coalition of Royal Allied Powers for feeding us 3,400 tech in exchange for $258,000,000.00. Some of this was also given to us for free so we thank our buddies in CRAP for continuously being awesome and one of our top trade partners. :) The New Sith Order for feeding us 2,800 tech in exchange for $0. We would like to thank our good friends in the New Sith Order for their generously in helping us further replenish our tech reserves after our nuclear war with the DBDC. We love you guys too! :) Shangri-La for feeding us 1,500 tech in exchange for $78,000,000.00. Some of this was also donated for free and so we thank them for their continued friendship and trading. :) The Templar Knights for feeding us 1,300 tech in exchange for $84,000,000.00. We thank them for their continued friendship and trading. RIA Trade Partner for feeding us approximately 1,300 tech in exchange for $84,000,000.00. We love our RIA trading partners. I would like to remind everyone of this alliance affiliation which is an open AA for anyone who switches to maroon to receive protection from the RIA. Founded back in 2010, the requirements can be found on http://cybernations.wikia.com/wiki/RIA_Trade_Partner but in summary only include being on maroon, being on the AA, and after which you'll receive protection from the RIA for any unprovoked attacks. There is no real requirement for trading with the RIA on the AA though we do appreciate those that do. If anyone ever needs a temporary home when trying to decide on a new alliance or when being on break from alliances then RIA Trade Partner is a good place to hang out. :) Also special thanks to Farkistan for donating 300 free tech as well. War Report We would recognize the following five nations - Baldr, im317, Jenne, Moth, Ogaden - with the following award - - that displays under their names on our forums for their participation in the First RIA-DBDC Campaign (a.k.a. the Baldr War). These 5 combined fought approximately 14 wars - 9 offensive and 5 defensive - against DBDC nations. We thank them for their service to the RIA. Llama Report In this term's llama rankings we see im317 has barely inched out Ogaden and takes the number 1 llama herd. We look forward to further growth of our member's llama herds. tl;dr
17. All of the districts of the new state of Saxony are going to the polls today to vote for their new local representatives and presidential candidates. The outcome was sure to be interesting, as a variety of candidates, backed by a decent number of political parties, gave a wide assortment of competing options for the public. Saxon Worker's Party: The SWP is a party professing populist socialist policies. They are an internationalist party, favoring good relations with left-wing governments and with all of Europe. Their candidate is Abigail Waldvogel, and their base of support is strongest among the working class. Christian Democratic Party: The Christian Democrats are a centrist party, favoring stable governments that it sees as a force for good in the world. Its base is largely among the elderly, and its candidate for president is Beatrix Meissner. They describe themselves as "conservative, yet sensible", and are the most likely of any voters to be Catholic. Anti-German Party: The Anti-German Party was started by their candidate for president, Bert Voss, an eclectic small business owner. Their policy options are largely classically liberal, and their base of support is the youth of the country; particularly those from middle and upper-middle class backgrounds. They have similar foreign policy to that of the Greens, but they're a bit farther to the right, and also a bit more likely to support non-European governments. Green Party: The Green Party of Saxony, or GSP, is a small party, due to its voter base being almost entirely among lower-middle class youths, who frequently vote SWP or AGP as well. Their policies are progressive social democracy, and they see themselves as global citizens, making them equally likely to support relations with countries regardless of their location or cultural make-up. Their presidential candidate is Wessel Kiefer, who is also the youngest candidate at an age of 29 years. Polls would be open for 48 hours, to allow as many citizens the chance to vote as possible.
18. ZNCA News: Second elections since restoration of democracy begin “For the second time since democracy was restored to Zapadnaya, the citizens of the country will go to the polls to elect the next government. Voters will be asked to elect the President of the Republic, the members of the National Assembly and the Senate. The Electoral Council has confirmed that early voting is now underway across the country and that the polls will open tomorrow morning at 0830 ZST. President Elena Dobreva, of the European Future Party [EFP] is running for a second term as President of the Republic. She is expected to face a major challenge from the Justice & Development Party’s (JDP) Paskal Dragomirov and the Socialist Party’s (SP) Zlatko Dimitrov. In the National Assembly the outgoing coalition government consisting of the Justice & Development Party (JDP) and the European Future Party (EFP) rejected a proposal for both political parties to present a joint list of candidates and to attempt to form a second coalition government. Instead, both parties will stand independently. Outgoing Prime Minister Iskra Grigorova is confident that the JDP is on course for a parliamentary majority. The situation in the Senate is less clear however, as most pollsters are predicting that the Socialist Party (SP) will likely retain control of the Senate albeit with a reduced majority.”
19. Greetings savages, heretics, friends, and true believers, The Random Insanity Alliance recently had our bimonthly elections. This is a few days late because we have a habit of forgetting to hold elections on their regularly scheduled days so every two months they tend to be held on a different date & time. Though occasionally we do get it close to being on time. I guess this further highlights some of our insanity. Luckily Shadow tends to notice after a few days and starts them up. >_> The results are as followed... For our Triumvirate, im317 was re-elected once again. Thus our Triumvirate remains Shadow, im317, and Hyperonic. This month will also see Shadow hit his 6 year anniversary as Triumvir on August 10 (further cementing his status as someone truly crazy for sticking around in gov for so long and also the RIA for re-electing him so many times). For Head of Economics, or HoE, Ogaden was once again re-elected. For Head of Internal Affairs, or HoIA, Croix was also re-elected. For Head of Foreign Affairs, or HoFA, we see brian returning to the position after Biff Webster decided to take a break and be lazy for awhile. For Head of Military Operations, or HoMO, we see biofantic re-elected again. For Head of Recruitment, we see dester55 being elected. This will be dester's returned to gov for the first time since the end of 2008. We welcome him back and look forward to his work. For Captain Planet, we had a very tight race between Chuck Normis, Electric Mango, and ReyTheGreat. Chuck Normis barely inched one vote ahead of an almost three-way tie between them. Government for August & September 2014 Triumvirate XI: - Shadow - im317 - Hyperonic 63rd Cabinet HoE: Ogaden HoIA: Croix HoFA: brian HoMO: biofantic HoR: dester55 CP: Chuck Normis Bimonthly Aid Report In this past election term, the following silly alliances are who traded with the RIA. We appear to have traded ~$2,128,000,000 & ~37100 tech. Seems like we need to step up our game some more. Thanks for the money & tech. We love you all. :)

tl;dr Used up all my creativity on our birthday post which is why this one is so sane.

For Vice President Khurtin Filipp- Best known for his time as head judge of the judicial branch. Also led many riots against the government, trying to return communism. Ostroverkhov Anatolievich- A lover of democracy, Anatolievich was the head of state before Igorevich, before not being re-elected, and now wants to get back on track. 24. VNN News: Parliamentary elections begin, vote delayed in East Ingushetia "Across the Serene Republic today, voters are being asked to go to the polls in the much anticipated Parliamentary elections. After a heated campaign by all major parties, the decision is now in the hands of the electorate. After addressing an electoral rally in the city of Novosibirsk, Prime Minister Rokossovsky returned to the headquarters of his Vaule Revolutionary Vanguard (VRV) party in the capital. In a short statement before the polls opened, the Prime Minister expressed his confidence that the voters would examine the 'record of performance' and 'economic stability' attained under his premiership when going to the polls and suggested that he is 'confident' that he will remain Prime Minister. Opposition leader, and Slavic Unity Party (SUP) candidate Vladimir Boskovic led an unusually spirited campaign in which he visited at least thirty-five key constituencies in the past ten days. Mr. Boskovic has presented himself as the man capable of generating sustained economic growth and development, though he has had a difficult time emerging from the shadow of his brother Antonin Boskovic (former Prime Minister and SUP leader and current Deputy Federal Prime Minister). Despite several statements stressing the party's unity behind Vladimir Boskovic as their candidate, a number of SUP officials have privately expressed concerns that he will never be as 'charismatic or dynamic' as his older brother. In fact, a handful of SUP officials are said to be urging Deputy Prime Minister Boskovic to consider a return to politics in the Serene Republic of Vaule. Our pollsters have predicted that Prime Minister Rokossovsky and the United National Front (UNF) will be the largest party in the next parliament, however they may fall short of an outright majority. In an unusual situation, the current parliamentary elections will also coincide with the local and municipal elections, and the elections to the Legislative Council of Vancouver."
25. It turns out that an eerie type of chaos can lurk just behind a facade of order - and yet, deep inside the chaos lurks an even eerier type of order. Greetings friends, heretics, and non-believers, The Holy Alliance of the Cactuar, more commonly referred to as the Holy Realm of the Llama or even the Random Insanity Alliance, recently completed another fun election cycle. We call them elections but they tend to consist of drawing names out of a hat or some other such silliness. Somehow the insane party once again overcame the random party and decided to re-elect Shadow, By the Grace of Cactuar, His Glorious Excellency The Most Holy, Blessed, and Venerable Eternal Triumvir of Random Insanity and the Dominions and Territories thereunto belonging, Captain Planet Emeritus, Supreme Pontiff of the Holy Realms of the Cactuar, Defender of the Faith, Guardian of the Funk, Grand Master of the Most Noble Sovereign Military Order of Cactimus Prime, Central Commander of the Nintuar Clan, Leader and Guide of the Rivolucion, The Ultimate Lifeform, Mystic Dragon Emperor of the Cheeselands, Archduke of Disorder, Overlord of Lunacy, Puppetmaster of Chaos, etc. This re-elections marks Shadow's 13th term as Triumvir, first taking office back in August 2008, a fact which scares him sometimes... Triumvir: Shadow His re-election maintains the current Triumvirate XI of Shadow, im317, and Hyperonic. We also had the election for the 62nd Cabinet of the RIA: First, for our Head of Economics, the fine people of the RIA have decided to choose the Iron Bank of Braavos. We look forward to their work and they have appointed Ogaden as their representative. Ogaden got the position after running with the promise of "I will continue to annoy and message you should you choose to re-elect me as your HoE, in my eternal and unyielding quest to stuff as much tech into every available orifice I can get my hands into, and some that I can't." This message seems to have been strangely well received by the membership of the RIA. Head of Economics: Iron Bank of Braavos, represented by Ogaden For Head of Foreign Affairs the members of the RIA decided to stick with Biff Webster for another term. Despite once being in service to a heretical cult, he has once again accepted His Holiness Cactuar into heart and has now serves as one of his vanguards. We wish him luck in working with our friends and the approachment and conversion of heretics. Head of Foreign Affairs: Biff Webster For Head of Internal Affairs, we see Croix was once again re-elected and thus will be maintaining his iron grip over the alliance while holding power as the sole remaining representative of the CDS faction in RIA government Head of Internal Affairs: Croix For Head of Military Operations, we see biofantic's return to the position after quickly re-asserting himself after his recent return from the purgatory of inactivity mode as he replaces GrilledSlug who has since shifted to Head of Recruitment replacing hackherhog. The true winner was (the real, not imposter) Tywin Lannister who chose biofantic as his representative due to his busyness managing another realm. Head of Military Operations: Tywin Lannister, represented by biofantic Head of Recruitment: GrilledSlug For Captain Planet, in a surprise upset against Meatkin Pie, we see ReyTheGreat somehow take the position, becoming the 43rd Captain Planet replacing Leo. Captain Planet: ReyTheGreat In other news, here is a lovely stat update for our fair alliance. Some milestones we've hit in the last few months include reaching 50,000k avg NS, passing 13.61 score, passing 3,450,123 NS, and passing 301,000 tech. We also maintain a lovely cruise missiles collection of 339, all created as offers to the great Cactimus Prime. tl;dr;
Surprise Cactuar Pirate Attack!
