Classified: "The Kingdom of Yugoslavia sends many well wishes to the good people of France, along with a token of our apology of having missed the momentous occasion of the Royal wedding, as prior concerns and issues within the country demanded my attention. As another token of our apology, we simply request either a simple diplomatic exchange to be begun at the leisure of the French Empress or a diplomatic meeting to be scheduled at the leisure of the French Empress. We hope that our token is accepted, with good relations and tidings to flourish between our two great countries." Respectfully, Kralj Dragojev Belojevic

Relations between the Northlands and Yugoslavia had been somewhat silent, with the Northlands having concentrated its diplomatic efforts elsewhere as it found its place in the world. But with its increased interest in the well-being of its Mediterranean regions and discovery of a military base being constructed in Spain, the Northlands was eager to reach out to Yugoslavia, a nation whom held strong relations with several of the Northlands' allies. A note would be sent from the Northlands inviting Yugoslavia to a diplomatic meeting to be held in Mahon, Menorca to discuss relations and possible areas of collaboration. With the successful negotiation of a treaty with Greece, it was hoped such good will could be sustained and propagated elsewhere in the Sea.

June 30, Year 2 Greek Command Base, Bulgaria White Zone [Classified] General Kazilieris took a swig from his canteen, while he listened to his officers inform him of the movements of the Slavs, those that the Greeks were aware of at least. He waited, patiently, until the report was finished before he leaned forward and scanned the map on the table infront of him. “So, the Slavs are fortifying? They should have cut our access to the highways. I suppose they expected to be welcomed with open arms.” He shook his head and pushed himself out of his camp chair. “We cannot allow them to expand their hold on our northern border. Are we ready to begin the operation?” With this he glanced at at one of the officers present. “Sir, our agents are ready.” “Excellent.” Kazilieris reached down to massage his leg, an unconscious gesture he adopted in times of stress. “Send the order to begin. Let us ensure the Slavs do not have such a warm welcome.” *** [Public News excerpt] Greek forces in Bulgaria have made contact with partisan resistance forces in the region. Though unable to directly support these freedom fighters, due to the Eastern Mediterranean Union's prohibition against aggression between members, the Bulgarian Task Force has established several safe zones for Bulgarian refugees. The Government has issued a condemnation of Yugoslavia's aggressive actions in Bulgaria, with some officials questioning whether the Slavs waited for the signing of the Eastern Mediterranean Union treaty to cover their advance. Public sentiment has turned against Yugoslavia, and the Yugoslavian embassy is now under heightened security. OOC: Greece is sending out partisan forces, armed with Legionworks weapons (intended to be untraceable), as well as agents provacateur against the Yugoslavian occupation.

Private The Kralj glared at the doors of the conference room he was currently in. It was no denying that the Sovereign had seemingly reached the end of his patience as he read the public news clippings concerning relations between his two allies, Hungary-Slovakia and Alvonia. To say that the Sovereign of Yugoslavia was incensed would be understating the sheer frustration the Monarch felt towards the situation between two of his allies. He shook his head and prepared to calm himself for the coming meeting, it wouldn't do to be utterly enraged and start chewing out two of his allies in a private meeting.
Upon each dignitary's arrival, they and their entourage would be escorted all the way from the city limits of Beograd with diplomatic honors befitting a foreign dignitary within the Yugoslavian White City to the White Palace on differing routes. The foreign dignitaries of Alvonia and Hungary-Slovakia would not meet till they had finally reached the doors of the designated conference room. Standing besides the conference room's plain looking but tasteful table, the Kralj of the Kingdom turned and politely smiled at the entourage, "I had sincerely wished this meeting would be a pleasure to meet again, Director Wilding, but I would be lying" he started off immediately before turning to the Hungarian Deputy Minister, "Likewise but it's a pleasure to meet your acquaintance for the first time nonetheless, Deputy Minister Kovach," he added before he he gestured to the table, hoping his guests would sit in order to get the meeting on track.

Ambassador Aletea Remis hadn't been to Yugoslavia since before the great war. The fighting had clearly taken a toll on the country, and though rebuilding was well under way, the scars of war took time to heal. She supposed that a similar image would be found in Greece, for those who had not visited in some time. Aletea gave a small mental shrug and braced herself. She pushed through the doors into the meeting room, gave a nod to the Yugoslavian who was waiting for her, and introduced herself with the decorum that was appropriate to her position.

Public In the heart of Beograd, the White City of the Serbs, Beli Dvor It had been a long time since he'd been here for it had broken his heart to see the Palace that the South Slavs cherished so much, had put their soul and will in to build become ruins in its totality. The Sovereign took solace in the fact that his people were still tenacious and steadfast as they were in the year coming out of the conflict that wrapped the world in flames, his subjects having rebuilt the seat of power of their homeland with a vigor approaching zealotry. An observation he did well in noting to ensure that nothing would come of it, leaving things as they were would not do. The provinces of Vovjodina, Macedonia and the Eastern part of Southern and Eastern Serbia had been the most ravaged during the conflict as a whole, the areas near Slovenia and the coast secured thanks in part due to the Kingdom's now fully blooded fleet. The Sovereign felt grateful that all he worked for was still standing, letting out a soft sigh before turning to face the gigantic crowd that stood, eyes filled with hope as they stared at their King. Dragojev Belojevic was a changed man in some regards, his brush with death and numerous scars that he now held played factors, one of them being the one that the crowd could see. This was his first public appearance after escaping from the hands of the Kingdom's southern 'Neighbor' and his duel that he narrowly survived through the skin of his teeth, almost literally were it not for the technology that the Tikalians had sent before their sudden disappearance. He hoped that wherever Tikal and the Tikalians had disappeared to, that they would be safe and blessed by their last act to the Kingdom. The Kralj sported a very visible scar, three lines of scarred tissue running vertically down his face. His "warm neighbor's" attempts of cutting him down had almost done him in, the arrogance and prideful nature his neighbor possessed was one he successfully played once to his benefit. The one and only time proved to be their leader's mistake, giving him the distraction needed to finally escape and rendezvous with his forces. It certainly surprised the Kingdom and himself to see his southern 'neighbor' in the midst of a violent revolution once they had gotten their bearings and beaten back the invasion of their home. Kralj Dragojev Belojevic stood tall and firm, a changed man but he was still their Kralj and their guide. The Kingdom was still standing, steadily rebuilding itself and would continue moving forward. "Ten years ago to this day, the Kingdom and the world in its entirety was plunged into the fire and flames of war, sparked by one nation's insecurity and paranoia. Our nation and its people are filled to the brim with brave men and women who dared to fight back for its safety, for the safety of their loved ones in the midst of war. Our nation also is lacking from those who fell, giving their all in an ultimate act of sacrifice for their loved ones and their duty. On this day, we as a nation, brothers and sisters come together to honor you. Those brave soldiers who gave their all and those who lived to tell the tale of the horrific war, it is you that we came here to honor. To those who are no longer with us, who faced death as long-lost friend and a smile on their faces, who smile down upon us from the heavens themselves. We thank you for your ultimate sacrifice and know that it never was in vain. To those who never saw the return of a loved one, be it a child, dear friend or a husband or wife. Know that the people of the Kingdom thank you and your loved one for their sacrifice. To those who mourn, grieving for those who never returned or were found, their final resting place in unknown obscurity, know that the Kingdom thanks you and your loved one for their sacrifice. To all who fell in battle, the Kingdom mourns for your loss as you were our brothers and sisters, cherished loved ones, dear friends and ultimately brothers and sisters in arms. The Kingdom will forevermore mourn the loss, bright lights snuffed out by the enemy who sought to subjugate us in our own homeland. As such it is finally time that we as a nation and united people; scarred though we may be, to rejoin the global stage once more. Our nation has been rebuilt, scarred but standing strong from the blood and flames that reforged our Kingdom to be mightier. Even though we rejoin the global stage and may forgive in time, we will never forget the atrocities committed by our enemies against the Kingdom, for we are Jedan narod, jedan kralj i jedna država!" OOC: Observer states are not listed. They have all received a private invitation. If you have not received this invitation, you are not present. *All transmissions are assumed to be fully secured using 2048 bit encryption and all available security measures.* Mount Kenya was a swarm of activity, as soldiers of the Republic ran to and fro in their duties. Queen Akinyi stood in the heart of her command center, dozens of maps, charts, and lists glowing on screens around her, listing the Republic's mobilizations and movements. Though the Republic had contained its activity to the African continent, save for its two island bases, its assets were not swarming across its territory and the world. Officers rushed by her, speaking rapidly into headsets, and the entire facility had been placed on maximum security lock down. For the first time since its rise from anarchy, the Republic marched to war with another world power. Catharine waved the reports aside and the screens went blank. She gave a curt nod to her communications officer, and the transmissions went out. The screens lit up with images of the leaders of the primary participants in the conference: France, Tikal, the East Asian Imperium, Yugoslavia, and Alvonia. Untold others were relegated to observer status, their faces lined up neatly across the bottom of the many screens. "Friends, allies, colleagues," the Queen began, and translators rushed to ensure that all could understand her words, "It is with a heavy heart that I come before you. While some few of us have gathered already for friendly exercises, intended to bring us together in the name of peace and cooperation, war looms upon the horizon. As you are aware, Europe has never been a bastion of stability, and now the rogue state of Romania has taken direct action against both the Great Lakes Republic, and Yugoslavia. This is in addition to its history of aggression toward Alvonia, and all other states that do not bend the knee to its agenda of domination." "History has shown all too clearly that we cannot allow such a rogue actor to move freely in the world. We must take drastic action to curtail the aggression of Romania, and we must do it now. The Republic has already diverted forces to engage the Romanians when they begin their war against Yugoslavia. We ask now that you all join us in the war for liberty and stability."

Private In the heart of Beograd, the White City of the Serbs, Beli Dvor "Repeat what you've just said, General," deadpanned the Kralj of Yugoslavia, disbelief clearly written on his face as he cradled the grey phone against his ear. Listening to the General audibly gulp brought some form of sadistic enjoyment to the Sovereign, while silently hoping that this call was entirely fabricated in its entirety. "Er," oh so eloquently started the General of his armed ground forces, one Ljubia Diković, who was clearly completely out of his depth judging from his hesitant nature so far from the call. Dragojev could not really blame the man, anyone in his position would certainly be out of their depth if what his general said was true. Merely asking his General to repeat himself was a tactic to ensure that it was legitimate, as well as to let the absurdity of the situation finally sink in. The Kralj did not hear the General's words, letting them simply pass over him as he thought of the possible ramifications that it would affect to the world as a whole as well as his own Kingdom. He thanked the General for informing him of the development before dismissing him, putting the phone back in its cradle. Dragojev raised his hand and gently rubbed the bridge of his nose, this whole situation was absurd but so far it was his reality. His course of action planned, he rose from his seat as he left his office, barking orders in preparation for his impromptu trip to one of the municipalities of the Serbian region. The Kralj of Yugoslavia narrowed his eyes as he entered the armoured car, his thoughts running a mile per second but there were two things he knew for certain that he had to do. See the event for himself and talk with the either stupidly adventurous or unwittingly brave soldier who went through it, only to come back unharmed and yelling about monsters and mist. Only one way to find the truth of a mystery and it was to get to the bottom of it.
Underneath a local farm around the City of Kula, Municipality of Kula, Kingdom of Yugoslavia "Just what exactly am I looking at?" asked the Sovereign of Yugoslavia as he stared at the device for a lack of better words as scientists examined to the best of their ability without going through it. The soldiers stationed in this part of the Kingdom had responded rapidly and cordoned the area while he was arriving, promise of payment from financial or territorial losses to the farmer had quickly silenced the matter but he knew well enough that the media would arrive and have an utter field day. At the least, they would all be far away from the device and be safe should things go sour. He certainly hoped it didn't as his soldiers began to erect a temporary building around the rough-shod entrance after having demolished the farmer's barn, the building itself would be sanitized as it could be and provide ample shelter to hide it from the public while his scientists kept working. The entrance had been expanded as best as it could and a rough stairway was in place so personnel could walk down relatively safely without tripping. He glanced at the ring, dark gray in appearance with nine chevrons and from a rough estimate it looked to be seven meters high and quite thick. Glyphs of strange symbols appeared to be built inside of an inner ring. The Kralj didn't know much about it but he could guess that the ring itself was heavy, noting to order respective vehicles for transport if needed. He shook his head and gazed to the General, "Razvodnik Loncar was the soldier who brazenly traversed through the device's portal, as he called it. Miraculously he was competent enough to return briefly to showcase that he was still alive and in one piece before swiftly going back through it. Less than half an hour later, he returned sprinting while screaming about monsters and mist before it seemingly shut down," reported General Diković as the Kralj nodded. "Where is Razvodnik Loncar?" he asked before the General barked an order, less than a minute later a demure man stood at attention in front of his Sovereign. "At ease, soldier. Now, tell me," started Dragojev as he looked over the Razvodnik, brown eyes staring back at the Kralj, "How are you feeling, son?" "I'd be lying if I said I was alright, my Kralj, but I'll be fine once I get some R&R," replied the slightly shaken man. "Now, my General says that you reported sightings of 'monsters and mists' after you returned from across this," trailed off the Sovereign for a few seconds, "...portal. Tell me, soldier, what exactly did you see?" It was a question that he would consider a curse and a blessing in the days to come.
"$%&@," swore Dragojev under his breath as he entered the main command tent established in the farmer's land followed by his General and his Regent, Petar. "Alright, any word on the media yet?" he asked as he sat down at the head of the provided table. "The Media blackout is still in effect, although they are getting rowdy," answered his regent. "What exactly do we know about this portal?" "The specific size is not something that we know as of yet but the scientists estimate that a military convoy would be able to pass through with ease. Anything bigger than a truck is a no-go from their estimates." The Kralj took a few moments before letting out a sigh, "$%&@, this is not going to be easy to inform our allies about," he muttered as he ran a hand through his hair. "'Hello there, my dear Regina and Director Wilding, how's your day been so far? Oh mine, It's been dreadful, we now have a device creating a portal leading to god knows where in our backyard and its cutting into a good Serb's income'," snarked Dragojev before he started ranting. Petar snorted yet remained quiet, General Diković knowing well enough kept his silence as he tried desperately to not smirk or laugh while their Sovereign ranted. Dragojev swore one last time before turning his gaze towards the career soldier, "General, prepare transport to extract this 'device' into a more secure location and ensure that the good Serb who's land we're currently in is paid handsomely for his find, for I have a feeling that this device if it truly can be called that will revolutionize the world somehow," he ordered as the two men nodded. The General departed the command tent without a word, knowing well enough when he was dismissed and went to do exactly as ordered. "Are you sure of what you say, my Kralj?" "Considering that we have nothing but Vodnik Loncar's word to go by, I have no need to doubt my soldier nor his eyewitness. We have nothing else to go by, wild mass speculation will not help us except to replicate how to 'turn' this device back on, Petar."

Private "How long has it been since the fall of the second Yugoslavia?" asked Dragojev as he gazed deeply into his drink, lost in the motions of the contents as his council kept silent, not really knowing the answer the question as their Sovereign frowned. "Exactly, the silence tells enough," he bemoaned, shaking his head before taking a sip of his lukewarm tea, the drink bitter going down. "No one really knows how long it has been since that incarnation fell and the former Athenian Federation took reigns of the area," he added before taking another pull of his drink. "But we are resilient, at the very least, so the exact date is of no consequence now. If we are to remain resilient, we need to tie the three main religions of our great country to the state and ensure their loyalty to the Kingdom alone," the Kralj stated as he placed his cup of tea to the side, gazing upon each single member of his current council. "Bring me the President of the Croatian Bishop's Conference, the current head of the Islamic Community of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the current Autocephalous Patriarch of Yugoslavia."
Public The Kingdom of Yugoslavia to expand! The Kralj professes revival of Brotherhood and Unity within the Kingdom! Issue 10.Y1 March 18, 20XX The Kralj announced today that the former Brotherhood and Unity Highway will be expanded to tie in the remaining cities that compromise the great Kingdom. The cities of Sarajevo, Podgorica and Tirana were announced to be included in the Kingdom's primary highway. The inclusion of Tirana was a revelation to many of the intentions of the Kingdom's Sovereign and when asked upon the inclusion, he happily replied with the following: "The Albanian people have been many a brother and sister to the South Slavs and while we may have been at odds with each other throughout history, we stand on the precipice of a Greater Kingdom by formally including the Albanians into the fold. Yes, they may not be South Slavs but for all intents and purposes, they are our brothers and sisters in this land that we all call home." During the conference, he announced that the intent was merely to further protect and shield the Kingdom's non-Slavic brothers and sisters. The number of Albanians currently living in the kingdom outside of former Albania almost rivaling the Albanian lands, from what this illustrious paper was able to find and corroborate. (OOC: 1 of 7)

A letter would be sent to the following nations- Spain France Yugoslavia Egypt The Confederate States of America had already been invited and was expected shortly as well. The city of Boston would prepare for the meet. Due to a recent act of terrorism known as the Fenway Massacre, high security measures would be taken before representatives would be able to enter, and they would be warned that they may see multiple groups of soldiers through the city and nation due to unfortunate events as of late. They would also be warned to stay out of the states of Berkshire, Franklin(Massachusetts), Hampshire, Hampden, and Plymouth if they felt like going sightseeing.

Upon acceptance of the invitation a date would be sent to the Yugoslav king. On that day, much like when the French ambassador was received, a large ceremonial parade had been arranged while the guest of Russia would be provided a tour by the most beautiful places in the city until eventually reaching the Winter Palace.

I can be in Yugoslavia within the week, depending on your reply. Ioannes Palaiologos, the leader of Alexandria, is currently away in Rome on official state business; I will be filling for him. The nature of my visit is to open up ties with Yugoslavia, and set the groundwork for a more cooperative Mediterranean, especially with our neighbors across the sea. I look forward to receiving your reply, Signed, Sayyid Antar

About the kingdom: The New Kingdom of Yugoslavia extends from the northernmost part of Croatia to the southernmost part of Serbia. Yugoslavia is an absolute Monarchy under the direct rule of the royal Petrovic family of Croatia. Currently there is no standing military force other than a basic defense force to keep order and control immigration. Currently there is no elected office in the executive branch of Yugoslavia, but the King takes direct criticism and council from his "Clerics" which represent their respective regions. The capital of Yugoslavia is in the Croatian city of Zagreb, however the royal palace is in Dvor. The royal family has direct command over the military, foreign and external affairs as well as the economy. While the king takes council on all matters, he has the last say on larger decisions, while the clerics deal with the less important matters. Currently there are no diplomatic ties between Yugoslavia and any foreign entity or government, but it has been made public that talks have been opened with the Athenian Federation.
