THE EMERALD CITY DEFENSE PACT The Yellow Brick Road The Knights of the Round Table and Viridian Entente, hereafter the signatories, confirm their friendship and collective defense, and hereby enter into this Optional Defense Pact. Article I: Munchkins The signatories will not interfere in the sovereignty, governance, or affairs of the other. Article II: Wicked Witches The signatories will refrain from all forms of aggression against the other, including sanctions, spying, and war. Article III: The Great Oz Intelligence which pertains to the safety or stability of the either alliance will be shared between the signatories. Article IV: Ruby Slippers The signatories may engage in financial transactions for their mutual benefit, including foreign aid, buying and selling of technology, and resource trades. Article V: Flying Monkeys If one signatory comes under assault from a hostile nation or alliance, it may request diplomatic and military assistance from the other. Military assistance is optional and may include foreign aid, spy operations, and use of military force. Article VI: There's No Place Like Home This Pact may be cancelled, with or without cause, by either signatory with 72 hours written notice. .:The Green Old Party merges into the Viridian Entente:. About 6.5 years ago, the GOP set out to to create a unique community. In that time, we explored ideas around "soft neutrality" and conservatism. These many years have treated us well, and we feel we have accomplished all that we set out to - and all that we could hope to at this stage. Love us or hate us, we "played the game" exactly the way WE wanted to... for the better part of a decade. We made some great friendships, and we had a blast. But our experiment has run its course and the flag of the GOP will now be folded up, and our membership will fold into the ranks of the Viridian Entente - the one alliance who both respected and supported our right to exist how we saw fit. Our thanks to the hundreds of people who joined the GOP's ranks at some point, and the hundreds more who've supported us over the years. Our forums will remain open so that our conservative membership will still have a place to discuss politics and the like but our members will begin the AA transition to VE immediately. In honor of Umbrella’s upcoming 7th birthday on the 24th and to pay homage to the alliance’s roots, we unveil our new war flag for this conflict. The more pressing matter at hand, however, is the matter of MI6's entry to the war. Some may express distaste at this declaration as the culmination of a betrayal of sorts. People already not fond of us may use it as a talking point. Narratives will always differ depending on the perspective. Cordial relations have not been maintained on either end and open hostility has erupted with each side saying the bad blood resulted from the other’s actions. Needless to say, Umbrella and MI6 have been at odds for quite some time at both a personal level and a political level even predating the cancellation. There are also concrete reasons for the action we have taken, both military and political that are not too hard to discern regardless of the enmity between the two alliances. Consequently, this was a perfectly logical move even though some find it distasteful. With that said, Umbrella issues a formal declaration of war on MI6 through its MDoAP with the Viridian Entente. During the application period, the applicant will receive information on the specific nation requirements The Borg sets and will accept those or end the application. The nation will be assimilated as a Borg member after a period of no less than one week and no longer than one month or alternatively, if the nation doesn't comply, the membership will be refused. An assimilated nation sets its AA to "The Borg". [u]Government[/u] [b]The Hive Mind[/b] is the ruling body of The Borg. It is formed by The Borg Queen and The Overseer. This body is in charge of all the decision making in The Hive. [b]The Borg Queen[/b] is the embodiment of The Borg. She serves for life or until resignation. The Queen is a permanent member of The Hive Mind and she supervise for the well being of The Collective. Under special or rare circumstances The Queen can use the Royal Prerogative to appoint or demote members of the government, accept or expel members of The Hive, void treaties, and nullified electoral decisions made by The Hive. [b]The Overseer[/b] represents the will of The Borg to evolve and achieve perfection. He serves in that position for life or until resignation. The Overseer is a permanent member of The Hive Mind. In coordination with The Borg Queen he supervises for the well being of The Collective. [b]The Units[/b] consist of different groups of drones assigned to serve the various needs of The Hive. Each Unit is administered by a drone who has proven his/her capabilities by doing different tasks. This drone is elected by The Collective by a simple majority to serve for a term of six months. The drone once elected can select another member to serve as his/her Proxy. [b]The Networking Unit[/b] is managed by The Engineer. The Unit is in control of all the inner aspects of The Borg. This include but is not limited to assimilation efforts, inner-communications, the forums, graphics and the collective state of mind of The Hive. [b]The Regeneration Unit[/b] is managed by The Scientist. The Unit is in charge of the regeneration and evolution of the technical and biological abilities of The Hive. To comply with their mission, they audit, trade and administer the transfer of technology and aid to the drones. [b]The Enforcing Unit[/b] is managed by The Enforcer. The Unit's responsibility is to defend The Collective of inner or foreign threats, and to destroy all type of resistance to the will of The Borg. To fulfill the various needs of The Hive, The Resistance will audit, prepare and train the drones. The Unit would also supervise over the expeditions and would coordinate with allies in the event of wars. [b]The Exploration Unit[/b] is managed by The Pioneer. The Unit's purpose is to explore the Universe in the search of new species. Even though it is in The Borg's nature to assimilate other species, they can also open channels of communications with the intention of establishing alliances that could benefit The Collective in their quest of perfection. The Unit is responsible but not limited to establishing new alliances, maintaining existing alliances and managing the channels of communication with other species. [b]Brain Trust[/b] are drones who serve as advisers of The Hive Mind. This group of trustees consist of drones who previously served in the government or drones who have great experience of The Borg and/or Cyber Nations. Even though they are fundamental for the operation of The Borg, they don't hold any actual authority over The Hive. [u]War Policy[/u] Declarations of wars are made by The Hive Mind. The use of nuclear power is at the discretion of The Hive Mind and/or The Enforcer. [u]Expeditions Policy[/u] Expeditions in order to acquire land, money and/or tech is allowed. The expeditioner must abide by the following rules:[list] I. Expedition are undertaken at once own risk. Expeditioners getting in trouble from their target, for the duration of one war, will not be supported by The Borg. II. Expeditions are to be limited to two Ground Attacks, followed by a peace offer. [/list] [u]Foreign Aid Policy[/u] Borg members will receive financial support to the limits of the alliance aid slot capabilities. To make sure the aid programs can continue to run for newer member nations, The Collective shall dedicate one or more slots to the alliance as request by The Regeneration Unit. [u]Code of Conduct[/u] The Borg promotes respect within The Hive and with foreign species in all its different channels of communication. As we are all Borg, we strive to operate with one goal, one share purpose. In instances when Drones have different opinions from The Hive Mind, those differences are expected to be communicated respectfully and internally. Reasons were conveyed in private. The treaty is now considered cancelled and the 72 hour mourning period is now in effect. The Random Insanity Alliance intends to continue honoring the [url="http://cybernations.wikia.com/wiki/Random_Viridian_News"]Random Viridian Protocols for Espionage and Armed Conflict Eradication[/url] as being active unless otherwise notified.
