Greetings to all my fellow Cybernations players, I was looking for us to come together to create an alliance without boundaries and without rulers. By this, I mean to say an alliance where, yes, there is a head, but the "chief" of the alliance will not be breathing down your neck 24/7, nor will his puppet ministers report your activity to the alliance overlord. By this, I mean an alliance where every single member counts and does something valuable for the alliance. By this, I mean a group of people with a positive attitude able and willing to be helpful, constructive, and cheerful, who are not afraid to stand up for one another, and fight for one another, and follow one another, NOT A LEADER. I also seek a respectful group, that despite having such liberty, will not use their freedom to harass and attack other innocent nations, because in this alliance, we seek to be constructive, never destructive, unless called upon by defense. We need to be a group of people that really care about one another and the game. We need a vision, a movement, and a passion never seen nor matched until we came along. We need daily, if not hourly communication among ourselves, we need to be ready to have each other's backs, and we must be able to educate the new players, whom are seeking a purpose. We can be, we must be that purpose. Too long, I feel, alliances have been a political joke, the many members, who should be the moving parts, mere decorations. You're here, and you're here, and that's about all you mean to the alliance, a sort of dead weight, an unimportant luggage. I will not write a constitution here and now. That will contradict everything I am trying to do. If I get a reasonable group to stand behind me and follow my word, we may write and work on a constitution together and make choices together, because that's what an alliance should do and should be: a literal "one for all and all for one." I do, however, do have a plan for name, but this can alter according to our united views. Hey so I'm brand new to this game and sorta overwhelmed with the amount of stuff to read. I have some experience in Eve Online which seems similar enough in that this game seems to have some components of Corporations (Alliances?) and apparently major wars too given the top posts in the Alliance Announcements forum are declarations. So I know that it'd be wise to know that stuff but I really don't have any clue whose a mover and shaker... I mean I guess those top 10 groups would be but even so I don't know much about them. This game seems fun enough and unique enough, but beyond that I'm sort of lost... one of my coworkers posted a flyer at work advertising this game talking about it being a political/war simulator and how it's open ended in that it's all text based. But the thing is I don't actually know who put it up given it was just hanging on a board in the break room and I happen to work in a rather large office otherwise I'd ask him these questions. So could someone explain the politics of this game in a nutshell? Whose the powerful groups and basically who not to piss off and I guess anything else that could be pertinent in this game... It's sort of overwhelming to browse through the wiki because there's a ton of !@#$ in it and I'm being bombarded out the ass with recruitment messages so if you want to give me some pointers on alliances or even advertise your own then go ahead I guess. Maybe even some recent history or important game events? I dunno... I don't really care to hear this games life story right now, but I figure knowing what's happening now or is the cause of something would be a good idea...also how long does it generally take to get a powerful nation? I know in Eve it's an anything goes kind of deal and I'm curious if that holds true here as well... do I gotta worry about getting scammed by some of these recruiters? -Oni

If possible, I would like to see more navy-related abilities to make large navies worthwhile in even-match fights. As it stands, a person with a HUGE navy vs. a person with a slightly-less-than mediocre navy would still not be able to break his navy nearly fast enough to perform any other operations. And even if he does, there would be no point if the person does not have enough land afterwards. I'm hoping to see, for instance, the freedom to perform more navy actions when you are at war with less people, but varying by how much navy you have. A person with a very large navy should be able to perform more actions in my opinion. Also, if a nation has submarines and is at war against a nation with the strategic defense initiative wonder, then the nation that has the SDI should be able to perform a navy-specific spy operation. In this operation, you have the ability to turn 1 submarine's nuclear damage bonus into nuclear thwart percentage, but this will only apply if the nation with submarines goes into battle support mode against the nation with the SDI. Example: Nation A has submarines. (Nation B has a SDI wonder) Nation B performs the navy specific spy operation ("Infiltrate enemy navy"?). If successful, then one of Nation A's submarines no longer gives the nuclear damage bonus (I think it was 2%) when in battle support mode. Instead, Nation B now has an increased 2% to thwart that nuke should Nation A decide to go into battle support mode against Nation B. If Nation A has other submarines, those will still give the nuclear damage bonus (if the nuke is successful). If Nation A wishes to remove the 2% thwart chance, then Nation A must decommission ALL submarines. After which, Nation A may repurchase submarines, free from the effect. Aside from the usual defending spy operation message, Nation A will also see a notifier when on the page to launch a nuclear weapon at Nation B. Again, this only applies if Nation A is in battle-support mode against Nation B. The spy operation can be conducted at any time Nation A has submarines, but will only take effect if Nation A launches a nuke while in battle-support mode against Nation B. Nation B can perform this spy operation even if it doesn't have a SDI, but will have no effect until nation B purchases a SDI.

Hi! I'd like to announce the creation of a new alliance called the League of Nations! The League of Nations was officially founded on 1 January 2013. The alliance was formed to promote free trade, economic growth and global security. It works towards developing the economies of its member nations, securing resources through trade and providing security for its members. The League of Nations is protected by the New Polar Order. Forum: http://cn-leagueofnations.webs.com/ The Charter I - Membership Admission • Any nation may apply for membership. • Nations that are involved in wars and apply for membership are not guaranteed military or financial assistance until that war is over. This will vary in different situations. • Nations that are granted entry will receive a starter pack of 3 million dollars to assist them in their growth or needs at the time. • Information relating to nation growth and alliance policies will be provided to each nation within the first week of their admission. • Nations will be expected to complete a very simple application process. Soon after they are expected to sign the alliance Charter, thereby agreeing to the alliance's policies and committing themselves to its obligations. Expulsion • Any nation may be expelled from the alliance, if a policy has been breached. • Nations that have violated a policy will be asked to justify their actions but in most cases the nation will expelled. • In some instances nations that have violated alliance policies will be allowed to negotiate the terms of their expulsion depending on the circumstances of their violation. • In rare instances the League of Nations will declare expelled nations as an "enemy of state" and may declare war upon these nations depending on the individual situation. II - Government • The government's decision making process is largely democratic. • Every nation has the right to put forth an idea or express their views on issues/problems. • The President of the alliance is the head of the government and leads the executive branch of the government and is the commander-in-chief of the alliance's armed forces. • The Vice President is the alliance's second in command. The Vice President works closely with the President and fulfils his duties and responsibilities when he is unavailable. The Vice President is the first person in line of the President's position and would ascend to power upon the resignation of the President. The Vice President is chosen directly by the President. • Any decision that the President makes, must be met with the consensus of the Secretary of Domestic Affairs, Secretary of Foreign Affairs, Secretary of Finance or the Secretary of Defense, depending on the decision or policy that needs to be made or changed. • For an issue to be brought to the attention of the executive branch of the government, a nation needs to notify the Deputy Secretary of Domestic Affairs, Foreign Affairs, Finance or Defense depending on the issue. These members will then notify the Secretaries of each area, who will bring up the issue with the President. The President and Secretary can either ignore it or bring it to the attention of the legislative branch of the government (which consists of 3 elected members). These 3 members are the final step of passing, changing or repealing laws. When an issue reaches this branch of government it will be dealt with on a fair voting system in which the majority win. • Each Secretary, Deputy Secretary and the members of the legislative branch of government each serve a term of 4 months before being able to apply to be elected again. Elections last for 4 days and each member of the alliance can apply for leadership or vote. • The number of terms an elected official of the government can serve in a row is 2. • As well as the positions of the executive government there are several other lesser positions available. These officials would serve under a particular department. In order to take up this position nations must contact the Deputy Secretary of the particular department they wish to join. Depending on the department these officials take up roles such as recruiting, diplomats or bankers. III - Defence • An attack on one member nation is seen as an attack on all. • Each nation commits itself to protecting each other. • Nations will not attack other nations or alliances without direct permission from the Secretary of Defense and the President. • If the government decides to go to war nations are expected to play their part and follow orders. • If a nation feels that its orders are unfair or unachievable it can contact the Deputy Secretary of Defense who will negotiate the terms of their orders. • Nations are prohibited from attacking on or spying on other nations without direct permission from the President and the Secretary of Defense. • Member states who decide to go rogue and don't follow orders will be expelled and dealt with in a severe manner. • The Defense Department will attempt to provide all nations with assistance when requested. • Nations may only use nuclear weapons if they are targeted with them by their opponent. When this occurs nations are expected to communicate with the Deputy Secretary of Defense immediately and hold off further attacks until spoken to. IV - Trade and tech deals • The alliance works towards developing the economies of its member nations and securing resources through trade. • Nations may trade with any nation of their choice, apart from sanctioned nations or nations which are considered as an "enemy of the state". • If a nation is after particular resources which it cannot secure in the global market it can join an alliance trading circle or trade directly with another member nation. • Nations can also join tech circles which allow them to sell or buy tech for a negotiated price. V - Aid • Nations who are damaged through war, or feel as if they would like some financial, technological or military based assistance can apply for aid. • Nations can apply from a range of aid packages depending on their needs. These packages can be negotiated with the Finance Department. • Depending on the nation's situation and the aid deal it chooses it may or may not be expected to pay back the aid it received, during an agreed amount of time. VI - Roles/Positions • Nations can apply for government roles/jobs at any time. Jobs such as recruiting new members for example, will always be in need and provide good financial rewards. • As well as this, nations can also apply to join the executive branch of the government, during elections.
