It was an unusually hot, sunny afternoon in Belfast. People milled about in the streets, many carrying cones of ice cream in a variety of flavours, vanilla, strawberry, bubblegum... Young people could be seen everywhere, simply relaxing on the grass chatting with friends or browsing the latest selections of clothing stores. Mothers and fathers held tightly onto the hands of their children, lest they be lost in the throng of bodies that peppered the streets. Traffic moved slowly, drivers lolling in their seats as idle hands hung out the window or tapped the roof of the car to the beat of pop music. Seated in the back seat of a government car himself, as he took all this in, William Prescott glanced down at his watch. It wasn't an expensive Rolex or some other timepiece of Swiss magic. Just a simple digital thing his wife had purchased on his previous birthday. He didn't know why but there was just something about its simplicity and spartan look that made him prefer it over any other watch he could want. It read 12:40. Twenty minutes until a meeting began that would put two old countries on a new course of history.

It had been a long awaited day in Ireland. Much of the population had wondered when they would be able to rise up from the darkness their country had been lingering in. Now they finally had an answer. Today was to be the day when they would discover who had been chosen to lead their nation back to it's former glory. The election had happened not two days ago and the results, kept a guarded secret until now, were about to be released. It was time. The stage was set outside City Hall on what was a particularly good day in Dublin. The crowds had been gathering steadily since the early morning and they had been treated to the most sunshine the capital had seen in two weeks. The 7 potential candidates took to the stage along with the announcer and other party officials, their moods ranging from anxious to excitement and everything in-between. The announcer stepped forwards to the microphone and began to speak, "Ladies and gentlemen," his voice was quivering, not even he could escape his nerves today, "I am proud to be able to announce the results of the general election for The Republic of Ireland." Another man walked from the side of the stage and handed him an ornate envelope which had been sealed since the count had been finalised the night before. Removing the seal would not have taken as much effort had it contained anything else, this was quite easily the most important envelope the man would open in his life however. As he slowly tore the seal from the envelope, the crowd seemed to fall silent almost instantly. He removed the results and the silence continued. "In 7th place," he began, "gaining 7 seats and with a 2.8% share of the votes, the Socialist Party led by Peter O'Malley." There was a smattering of applause. "In 6th place, gaining 9 seats and with a 3.6% share of the votes, the United Left party led by Sean Higgins." He continued to read the results and, in what seemed to take an age, arrived at second place. Fine Gael and Labour were the two remaining parties in the race. With 197 of the 250 seats remaining, either party would need 126 of the seats to be ruled a majority and win outright. The announcer spoke for the final time, "In 2nd place, gaining 68 seats and a 28.4% share of the votes..." He paused. The crowd were now more silent than they had ever been, every sneeze and cough drew angry faces as if they were intentional distractions. "Fine Gael, led by Seamus Doherty." Even before he had finished the sentence the crowd had burst into an uncontrollable excitement. The cheering would go on for sometime, even as the announcer read how the Labour party led by Arthur Connelly had won 129 seats and a 51.6% majority. Arthur was given a standing ovation by his fellow party leaders as he took to the microphone for his acceptance speech, "Brothers and Sisters," he began, "Today is a momentous day in the history of our proud nation. You have decided that you want a better Ireland, a newer Ireland and a more relevant Ireland. And let me tell you, that is exactly what you are going to get. Some thought my pre election promises were too far fetched, that they would never work. But you, the people, have decided that they are what you want. Now, it is exactly what you will get. Thank you to each and every voter, to my fellow elected officials, and especially those party members that volunteered to campaign up and down the country. You alone have made this possible. Thank you." A triumphant cheer erupted as he stopped speaking but it was cut short. The band began to play, and the crowd began to sing. Come the day And come the hour Come the power and the glory We have come to answer Our country's call... From the four proud provinces of Ireland Ireland, Ireland Together standing tall Shoulder to shoulder We'll answer Ireland's call. The party would go long into the night. Ireland was finally back to where it should be.

The United Republic of Ireland and the Norse Kingdom have decided to have diplomatic discussions in the name of improving bilateral relations. Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Russell Charton would fly to the capital, Copenhagen to meet with the Norse King and other officials to discuss a variety of topics. Upon entering the King's office, Deputy Foreign Minister Charton would bow to the King and say, "Your highness it is my honor to meet you today. I hope our two countries may work together to address a variety of issues and exchange permanent representatives."

EXERCISE JOINT WARRIOR HIGHLY CLASSIFIED “Provide a joint, multi-threat environment in which United Republic of Ireland and Japanese units and their staffs may undertake collective training and pre-deployment training in tactical formations in order to facilitate better defensive initiatives.” Scale The JW includes between 20 and 30 Naval participants, including aviation, surface and sub-surface units. In addition over 130 fixed-wing aircraft will participate, representing a wide variety of air power capabilities including fast air, Intelligence Surveillance Target Acquisition and Reconnaissance (ISTAR), Maritime Patrol Aircraft (MPA) and Command and Control (C2) assets flying at a daily rate of approximately 100 sorties. Ground based air defence (GBAD) units are also regular participants. Exercise Area JW can, if required, utilize the whole of the United Republic including the surrounding seas and airspace. Maritime play will be concentrated off the NE of Scotland where a freedom to maneuver in both deep and shallow water, coupled with a limited civilian population, air and sea traffic offers excellent training opportunities. Other influencing factors include access to the weapons ranges around the coast of Scotland as well as other bespoke areas for Naval Gunfire Support (NGS) and Close Air Support (CAS). Air participants have access to the overland flying areas throughout the UR such as Spadeadam Electronic Warfare Training Range, and oversea training areas including 2 large Fast Jet Areas (FJAs) for air-to-air training off the North and West coasts of Scotland. Execution The JW participants will travel to Naval Station Portsmouth. From there the participants will travel to the Doggerbank, and then up towards Shetlands. After completing several exercises there, the participants will then travel to about 50-65 miles NW of Shetlands. There is potential for these plans to change, especially locations. After having established an embassy in Ireland, the Japanese Ministry of Foreign affairs would send a delegation to the fellow island nation. Due to war raging in Central Europe and the recent spat with Russia, Eriri for now joined the mission, given there was little that could be done to get to her actual destination, which was Warsaw. All she could do, is wait out the war for now and watch for good opportunities to act on her country's behalf. Still, to Spencer Sawamura Eriri, being on the British Isles was a bit like seeing another home. As her father had been a British entrepeneur, she was a hāfu, however she had grown up in Japan and considered it her home country. Still, her cosmopolitan and affluent background, had created an interest in and together with a high-class education also the possibility to pursue a career in the diplomatic corps. Eriri had rosen quickly through the ranks, thanks to talent and patronage. Once in Dublin, Spencer Sawamura quickly established her provisional office. For now, as the one responsible for overall European diplomacy, she would take control instead of the regular diplomat Hata Akira. And indeed, Dublin would be quite a good basis for the diplomatic front of Japan in the war. But not just as a basis, Ireland was interesting. A letter would be sent to the Foreign Ministry of Ireland, requesting a meeting to discuss possible future ties between Ireland and Japan.

Regional Business Center Trade and Commerce Authority The RBC will consist of a commercial district and an industrial zone, both of which are located in the City of Cork. It is the TCA's hope, along with the Irish Government, that this new economic hub will bring in large profits for the county and those who invest in it. We are estimating that 250,000 – 300,000 people will be working or visiting the complex at any given time and bring in hundreds of millions of dollars in revenue. This new center will welcome companies and corporations from all over the world to come and trade with Irish entities as well as other international ones.
