1. Maelstrom had lead Dragonisia back to independence. He headed a movement for autonomy, a gentle break away from the empire that had seized most of Asia.. and restored its old domains. But he wearied of this world and knew it was slowly in the process of rotting from its many wars and radioactive fallout. He initiated a program to use Istarian portal technology to find valid alternate instances of Bob/Earth that may support life and the citizens of the Empire. It would be a very long project. The first part of his project, would be to open a portal home. He would need more tinker gnomes and that was the only place to get them. Istaria was his home of origin, though he served the Dragon Star Empire in this realm, he had not been born among them and collaboration with them had always been intended as a stepping stone to greater projects. He stepped back through an old portal that had been long covered in a tarp. Once he went back on Istaria he looked for the two gnomes that had forged his first portal off of Istaria to Sigil, the city of doors. Tank and Gild, had been servants of his A'meo, (Father) Stratus. His appearance took them by great suprise as they still worked in his old lab. "Maelstrom? Holy.. by Telak! We thought we'd never see you again! Your father has been getting your messages, but.. " "It's good to see you again too Tank." Maelstrom smiled. "You look so different, is it true you're ruling an empire on another world?" Gild stated as he stared at Maelstrom's stately uniform. "It is, and we need your help. Our world is dieing. It is time to move on." Mael stated. Tank was confused about something, "But.. your eyes are glowing green, almost like they're filled with blight, are you okay?" Maelstrom shook his head. "Reincarnated repeatedly after being hit by to many weapons the hominids on Bob call nukes. Radiation from it can make things glow an eerie green. It may subside in time, but I'm likely stuck like this forever. If it weren't for the gift and the bind to the plane of life energies, I'd be long dead." The two gnomes looked at each other and looked back to him, "So.. what do you need us to do?" Maelstrom sighed, "We're doing a dimensional survey. We have to find a new candidate for a world to jump to. So the first thing we will need is an observation portal, and then we'll need a full on gate. Time is not critical, the decay of Bob is slow, but the matter should be treated with some urgency in the event it accelerates. I have everything you need on the other side. Hopefully the world I will be moving to will be a little less on war, a little more on magic attunement to the mystic planes.. so let A'meo, A'mea, A'meo by Bond and A'mea by Bond know that I am moving and they may wish to come with me, but if they do not I understand. Istaria's not all that bad, if you like.. endless warfare between life and death. Once you've done that, I'll meet you on the other side." He stepped back through. The gnomes set to their business. Maelstrom waited. Petram had risen and fallen, Orbis was an invasion in progress, a dieing Bob had him 7th in the world and dominated by his alliance and its allies.. but that wasn't enough for this Emperor. He always, ever, had his sights on the stars and what was beyond them. In Franco's name, he will order the stars again.
2. Ooc: just something I'm tossing up. It's open to anyone who wants something to do. Decades of what seemed like dead almost silent peace across the globe was disturbed in east Africa by the roar of gunfire, before anyone knew what was going on the government was overthrown and armed militants had flooded the streets of Mogadishu. Firefights between Somali military and armed rogues tore the city apart, and before morning rose a large crowd stormed the Parliament building grabbing everyone inside. Street side executions in the most medieval manner possible were conducted as the unknown armed force tightened its grip on the city. Radio and television stations were then seized, broadcasting the news to Somalia and Africa abroad. A man with several facial scars sat down on a chair and began speaking. "My name, is Abraham Sadiq, I am the leader of the Somalian people's army, and I have come my friends to free us from the shackles of this corrupt and destitute government. These politicians who sit, eat like kings and watch us die in poverty are no longer safe. They promise, time and time again, change is coming oh this day will be different or elect me and we shall bring wealth and prosperity to Somalia....such lies they speak. In just a few hours, I have brought you change. In a few more, I will purge this wretched government that has let our people die and wallow in filth. Today is the first day, of the rest of our lives." Sadiq snapped his fingers and two large men threw a man with a sack over his head in front of him, "you see now, the price that must be paid for a new Somali? Do you see now, why I do the things I do? It's to free us from the conventional enslavement and delusional idea that is western democracy." He removed the sack and grabbed the man from the back of the neck lifting him to face the camera, "meet your elected prime minister, muhammad zadir, a professional failure in all accounts. He promised us, economic growth and unity, but all he has done is allow us to suffer, and pay for his lifestyle." Sadiq then savagely threw zadir to the ground and stood from the chair putting his boot behind the head of the prime minister, "you see now? Zadir. It is over for you, for your family, for everything." Zadir moaned and tried screaming as Sadiq pushed the boot harder into the back of his head. "I invite all of Somali to join us, let this revolution create the country we've all wanted, let it create a better future, and more importantly." Sadiq snapped his fingers again and the two men grabbed zadir from the ground and pushed him against a wall, the camera panned over to him as Sadiq walked to him now holding a knife and putting it to the camera, "more importantly, let us get justice" he plunged the knife into zadir, "for the corruption, for the lies, and for every time someone died under their administration." He continued to stab the prime minister in a horrific manner, until zadir was good and dead, "let us go now my people...and take our country back." The feed died out, and all across Somalia war tore through the country. Armed militants raided army bases and took everything that was needed for an all out take over. Hell broke out in Somalia, and what few stood before it were being burned.
3. The Rist Confederation was set up by ex-soldiers, mercenaries and other service and military personnel who found themselves without anywhere to call home. Some of these people had left voluntarily either fed up with their current status in their old homes or forced to go into a civilian life which didn't suit them. Others left for worse reasons from simple AWOL runners to murderers and other scum. The Rist Confederation didn't care where someone came from only that they obeyed the laws set down and could prove that they were useful to keep around. The Confederation was run by a select group of five leaders formed together into what was called the Council. This Council was always maintained at a grand total of five members to ensure that when decisions were needed there would never be any hitches or hold ups due to even votes. Membership in the Council was indefinite with only death or retirement after twenty years being the way to leave. On the retirement or death of a current Council member a replacement would be randomly chosen from a list of successors who had put their names forward to be on the Council. The process was always random as to be fair on all potential applicants. The population for the Rist Confederation was almost always on the flux as newcomers arrived and others left to find fame and fortune elsewhere. Of course being an open society, minus a few exceptions, meant a very fluid and vibrant market, both in, legal and illegal goods, from food, to clothing to weapons you could find almost anything you wanted in the Confederation. Only the most serious of articles were forbidden including but not limited to weapons of mass destruction, slaves, drugs and other such contraband. Anyone caught selling, buying or transporting such goods would face a very very long jail sentence and possibly even the death sentence. The military might of the Confederation was made up of a volunteer military force combining an army, navy and air force. The soldiers being already from military backgrounds in most cases meant that they were well trained but were lacking in more advanced weaponry found in other nations as well as lacking the power projection of larger capital ships and aircraft. Still what was there was more than enough for defending the country and what they couldn't make they could buy on the market and what they couldn't buy they could always steal. Knowing they couldn't ignore the larger world and the other nations on it the Council ensured that any other nation's leaders or ambassadors could visit the Confederation at any time and at least one member of the Council would always be willing to meet and talk with them at any time of day. To help facilitate this a diplomatic sector was constructed in the capital city to house embassies and living quarters for visiting and staying foreign diplomatic persons and any families. This sector was off limits to the usual public of the Confederation and was given the same high level of security as the Confederation's military bases and government buildings.

7. The wind blew hard on a cold winter day. The cold breeze whistled at the people gone to witness the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity that was about to take place. For weeks, the south had been planning, plotting, and preparing. The reformation of the United States, although an unexpected turn of events, shook the plans of the region and had taken away some of their most valuable lands. Unfortunately, the last thing the south needed right now was another war on their hands, and it was hard enough that their were likely plenty of misinterpretations of this nation and what it is based on. Some people would likely not even care to recognize the legitimacy of the nation as a whole. James Bonham, Jr. was medium size, for both height and weight. Seeing him in formal wear is just as likely as seeing a dog hate toys. Bonham would have a cowboy hat...and jeans. He had worked to establish governments all across the south, and now the final step was here. A government as similar to the United States' as the Confederacy's would be nearly impossible unless they simply copy/pasted it. However, a few changes were set in place. First, federalism would be written up. In other words, state's rights. It would be up to the states whether or not they wanted to trade with others, raise or lower taxes, export more, import more, etc. The one who helped write this constitution: James, or Jim, Bonham, Jr. You could believe it or not, but this reincarnation was not about slavery. Slavery was not what brought this new nation to be: This nation is formed to establish representatives for the people of the region, and allow them many of the things the Confederacy originally fought for; which does not include slavery. The "Emancipation Proclamation" is practically copied and then pasted into the Confederate constitution, at this juncture. "Congress, I welcome you to Montgomery. There is an important issue to be discussed," Bonham said, "We need to discuss borders with our neighbors." 9. The region of Arabia had for a long time been in anarchy, as well as both political and economical dissolution. The region, now beginning a new era for both the region and it's population. The nation of Arabia had now been founded. Jahanmehr Maswaa, an ambassador from Yemen, would finally get the opportunity to respond to the nation of Nippon, or Japan, in regards to there request for a diplomatic session. A new politician, new to not just the world of politics, but the world as a whole. Maswaa was actually only aged twenty seven years, and the desperate need for leaders in the new nation gave him the opportunity to enter the field as a high level in the government. Maswaa was not just ambassador, but he was also the provisional head of state in Yemen, the highest level of authority in one Arabian province. and, leading such a crucial part of the Arabian chain of supplies made him need to ask for advice from more seasoned men. This is why he invited a Saudi Arabian diplomat to join him in the diplomatic session. To The nation of Japan From Jahanmehr Maswaa of Arabia's Yemen I come to you in response to your diplomatic communique with a clear response to the request. That is that I wish for you to join me and my Saudi counterpart to a meeting in the Arabian capital of Kuwait City. I await a formal response and an on-time appearance in the previously stated location, and I am excited for an availing meeting to come. Maswaa Maswaa would make his way, by aircraft, to Kuwait City and leave his assistant, Ramyar Mana, in charge of Yemen. He would also await his Saudi counterparts arrival to the rendezvous point.
10. Statement from the Transcaucasia Soviet Socialist Republic A new nation, Transcaucasia SSR has been created in place of the nation of Georgia. It is a marxist-leninist socialist state, controlled by the communist party of Transcaucasia, and headed by President Yuri Andropov.
11. This thread is for the general Transcaucasia information. The Transcaucasian Soviet Socialist Republic (SSR) Geography The Transcaucasian SSR is located centrally in the Georgia region of the Caucus mountains, and has a capital in Tbilisi in the same region. It's land is mostly mountainous, though it has a small shoreline with the black sea, and is somewhat arable for subsistence farming as well. There are natural lakes, and rivers throughout the land, and the temperature and climate is generally temperate but the winters are harsh as well. Government Agencies The government is lead by the Communist Party of Transcaucasia, and it's head of state/government is President Yuri Andropov. The government has outlawed imperialist, or capitalist opposition parties and the unicameral legislature is the Supreme Soviet of People's Deputies. There are 100 seats. The dfense forces are called the Ground Forces, Air Forces, Coastal Forces and the Rocket Forces. There is also a secret police and intelligence force, the Committee for State's Security, or KGB. There are also various ministries, such as the Interior, Exterior, and Health ministries. Economy The economy of Transcaucasia is mostly industrial, with some farming and basic agricultural needs being met domestically. Factories produce iron, steel, rubber, chemicals and weapons as well as consumer goods and toys. Most high tech industries are limited to telecommunications and information technology. Much of the hardware for these is imported, as Transcaucasia lacks the necessary materials for such things. The unemployment rate is near 8%.
12. To: President Ashton Coolidge, United States of America From: President Milton Luke(OOC: Changing his name :P), Confederate States of America Dear President Coolidge, First, I would like to congratulate you on your presidency and the reformation of the United States of America. As the Confederacy had stated to you before, we would like to invite you to Montgomery, Alabama, the Capital of the States, to discuss many issues including the security of both our nations, our futures, and possibly the most pressing issue at hand: land. Please do not misunderstand the States when we say we are interested in some of the southern land of yourselves. The nation believes that South Carolina, being the first state to secede in 1861 and practically starting the war, should be occupied by their Confederacy. At that point, it would only make since that Georgia be granted Confederate statehood. Please, although this seems unacceptable or like a levity, we do not threaten you with any military force and much less plan to force you to commit such an action. I hope you will simply take the time to meet with us and do some traditional and worthwhile negotiation, to see what we two can work out. See, the Union and the Confederacy can work together, if only we tried. With Best Regards, Milton Luke President of the Confederate States of America February 22, 1862; Deo Vindice

14. (OOC: I picked the Houston Chronicle because, after doing research, it would be the largest newspaper, or one of, in my nation even though I have never heard of it before in my life :P) Milton Luke Inaugurated, Begins Talks with Union Montgomery, Alabama- Today the inauguration ceremony of the second president of the Confederate States of America took place, marking a milestone in American history. What did President Luke address in his first speech as president? He addressed many issues facing the old nation, including the Union, the United States of America. Milton Luke, President of the Confederate States as of 3 hours ago, spoke in his inaugural address about the issues facing the Confederacy, mainly of our relations with the United States, who hold our eastern border and is the only nation sharing an official border with the nation. The four Union states formerly Confederate states(Georgia, South Carolina, North Carolina, and Virginia) hold a strange place in the Confederacy. Although they are, in a sense, claimed by the C.S.A, we have no effective control over the states and they are thus disputed land similar to Missouri in 1861-1865. Luke now has resorted to the White House(See above) where he is working diligently to solve all issues facing our nation. Rumor tells that a meeting with the Union has already been scheduled. The nation has put it's trust in our new president in hopes that he may be a victorious successor to President Jefferson Davis.
15. From the incredibly productive meeting in Tehran, Burhan al-Samara would not fly home. He had other meetings that needed attending, and other acquisitions to make before he was through this week. The flight to Riyadh would be longer than the first one, and as such, the festivities would be somewhat more mild, necessary to make them prolonged enough to get him there. When he dismounted, he was still remarkably well groomed, which wouldn't be expected of a lesser man, but he was special. He smiled and waved to anyone who would be taking pictures, which the press always were, and waited for his car to be unloaded so he could drive to the palace of the Arabian Prince. When he arrived, he was no less enthusiastic than when he had gotten to the palace of the Persian royalty. An infectious smile on his face, he mounted the steps up to the grand doors. His appointment was very soon.
16. The Global War on Terror in the early part of the 21st century wreaked havoc on an already unstable region. The northern states managed to avoid the eye of the United States as they continued to govern themselves. Afghanistan and Pakistan were not so lucky. The former combated the Taliban for two decades; with US involvement bringing a weak democracy after the Taliban government fell. In the time that followed, many nations held control over central Asia. This provided those governments with buffer regions and a cheap labor force of an already exploited population. Central Asia began uniting. In their differences, they had one common element that bound them together: fear. Fear of more invasions and exploitation. The Soviets fought to steal Afghan resources. The Chinese sought to buy the rights to those same resources away from the native population. Kazakh oil and natural gas was stolen by Russian corporations in the 21st century. Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan and Tajikistan were relatively ignored as other ā€œmore importantā€ nations received aid, while their people suffered decades after the fall of the Soviet Union. History recently repeated itself with Cochin, the Dragon Empire and even Tianxia. Central Asia had to come together, akin to their time in the Soviet Union when they helped form one of the strongest nations in the world. Over time, they began to integrate their infrastructure and defense posture. They developed a customs union, a currency and began integrating their economies. Their external voice became united, as did their militaries. Kazakhistan, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, Kyrgyzstan, Afghanistan and Pakistan would form a centralized government to handle these affairs, as well as developed a common and united internal policy. Culture would be able to flourish among the nearly 1,000 different tribal and ethnic groups that make up Azadistan. After nearly 50 years under this centralized government, the leadership had fallen into the corrupt routine that makes up dictatorships. The institutions that had made Azadistan flourish were now falling apart. Inequality was rampant and the financial markets fell without a substantial recovery. Government reform was too little, too late, with much of it rolled back to suit the power brokers. The people were angry. They began rioting and fighting the government. A small civil war ensued against the established powers and the rising power of the people. The conflict ended with the Agreement of TƤwelsizdik kĆ¼ni, which gave rise to the Peopleā€™s Democratic Union of Azadistan and the Council of Ministers, led by Nursultan Nazarbayev.
17. Flights from Bahrain to Tehran were relatively common these days, considering the new Confederacy government. What wasn't common was private jets bearing at least one solid gold Bugatti and one massively powerful Oil Sheikh. It was a few hours of flying, so along with his ordinary flight crew and bodyguard, he'd brought a few of his wives. Good times were had aboard the flight to Tehran, though they were strictly confidential. When the flight landed, Burhan al-Samara dismounted, his headdress pristine, his suit unequal in style, and his aviators scratchless. He knocked the ash off the end of his cigar and waited for his car to be unloaded before he visited the Prince of Persia.
His car arrived at the palace in no time at all. He had, of course, had the prudence to establish an appointment with the man beforehand. When he dismounted the vehicle so too did his two guards. It was going to be a good meeting.
18. Note: The GM Court is a service to the entire CNRP community and is thus open to all of its members, provided their input is related to the rules and disputes of the community. All members of the CNRP community have a right to post in this thread, but please keep it civil and do not clutter the thread up with unrelated matters, for which we have the OOC thread. Definition of a GM The Game Masters (GMs) are a democratically elected institution of CNRP, tasked with interpretation and application of the CNRP community rules. They are thus the moderation of the RP. GMs do not create rules and cannot change rules on their own, for they are not a triumvirate (or in general an olligarchy). However, as rules can be ambigious, customary and unwritten, sometimes in form only of guidelines (e.g. common sense rules often fall into this) and precedents, this ambiguity can lead to disputes between members in the community, given the partly competitive nature of the RP. Therefor, in order to apply the rules, the duty of interpretation is also left to the GMs. It is from this definition, that scope and the role of the GM can be derived. GM Elections GMs are elected by the community in elections open to all CNRP community members. GM terms are normally for three months, unless there is a call for new elections supported by more than 50% of the community. Elections consist out of two phases, the Nomination phase and the Election phase. Nomination phase starts, four (4) days prior to the end of a three month term or upon a successful call for new elections. A new topic will be opened, in which every community member is allowed to post up to three nominations for the GM Court. After 48 hours, the nomination period closes the valid (made by valid community members for a valid candidate, who has not refused to run) nominations will be counted, with the six nominees who hold the highest amount of nominations advancing to the Election phase. Election phase begins right after the nomination phase and also lasts for 48 hours. All community members this time have up to three votes they can cast for the remaining nominees. Once elections end, the three nominees with the highest number of votes will be the new GMs. In case there is a tie preventing the identification of three GMs, a run-off vote will have to be held, until all three spots of the court are filled. Upon the successful election of at least one new GM, all old GMs are automatically dismissed. Incumbent GMs Justinian the Mighty KaiserMelech Mikhail MrDirector Dispute Resolution If a dispute occurs, be it a disagreement in the rules, disagreement in interpretation, claims of abuse, or any other incident whereby one party feels wronged by another the first step which should be attempted is a private negotiation between the two sides. This can be carried out however one sees fit (formal, informal, pm, query, thread post ect). The point of this is to get the two adversaries talking and to see if some sort of common ground can be reached without the need out outside intervention. Often this can be mutually beneficial as it does not always have to strictly conform to the rules of CNRP and the complexities and rigidity of the structure of rules often cannot make room for the circumstantial details of each case. If negotiation fails, then please post in this thread (the GM court) linking specifically to the relevant posts which the dispute concerns. Provide a short description of the dispute. At this point the evaluating GM can examine the situation and if the verdict seems apparent, they can make a ruling prior to any case. If however, the verdict is not apparent, a discussion will be opened by a GM to address the dispute, you, the initiator will be given the opportunity to provide the absolute best possible argument for why you think you are correct. It is your responsibility to provide us with the facts, evidence, logical appeals, and other appeals that supports your side. After this post the other person should compile the best case they possibly can supporting their side. They should also address errors in their opponents and in general refute the other side thoroughly. The person who initiated GM resolution will then be given a chance to respond to the refutation of their case and to refute the case of the second party. At this point third parties to the dispute who would like to make input are welcome to jump in and the original parties can continue to defend and attack eachother's positions (not persons!). The GMs will then render a decision (based on the arguments made and the evidence provided) in the GM court providing reasoning for the decision. This decision will be generally final, except in extreme cases, e.g. the appearance of new evidence disproving the ruling. Should the initiator or second party refuse to participate in the dispute resolution process, a decision will still be made on the basis of the participating party's posts, as well as any third party input. In such a case the non-participating party has foregone their opportunity to present their case to us. If they do not like the decision that comes back, the GMs cannot be blamed or faulted for whatever impact the lack of their input has. The GMs decision will not necessarily be a default judgement favoring the participating side, but they will in all likelihood lack the full details of the non-participants side. If the GMs see a violation of the rules that nobody comes forward about, then it is still up to the GMs to fix said violation. Some of us in the community favor proactive GMs and others favor laid-back ones, and for all intents and purposes you get the best of both worlds with the current, sitting GMs. Compilation of GM Rulings This is by no means a complete list, however, I will do my best to keep it up to date.
This is a work in progress! Evangeline Anovilis vs Markus Wilding - Contested Protectorate - Resolution
Conclusion As a general summation: No Ruling will be given on an unclear issue without all sides being publicly heard from. It is the responsibility of interested parties to provide the evidence and arguments necessary to understanding a case. We cannot be expected to do the investigative leg work over an issue that those who are actually involved in understand the best. The most efficient way to obtain the facts is for those who know them to come forward. The GM`s will not take any abuse. There will be disagreements, and if you find that you disagree with us then politely point out what you believe to be flaws. Any unwarranted abuse will not be looked kindly upon. Many GM discussions are done on irc, upon request full logs on a specific subject will be provided. Note: After a short discussion among the GMs, it has been decided to make a new GM Court topic. Although it is still heavily based on the old GM Court, it does take several changes of the GM system (e.g. elections) into account. This by no means signifies a break in the legal tradition and past precedents, as far as still applicable, can carry over. The old topic can be found here.
19. Following a particularly warm reception of well wishes from several nations, one of them being Japan, it was decided that the Empire would move to dispatch a letter to the Japanese nation. What the response would be, was unknown, but the invitation would be extended nonetheless. A courier would hand deliver the message to the Japanese Foreign Ministry, after traveling from Pune to do so.
20. With the announcement of the return of Marathi to the helm of power in the subcontinent, there was much work to be done in preparation for the coronation of Santaji to the throne. The move would effectively put the Marathi at the head of all governance, with representatives from throughout the Empire partaking to provide balance and equilibrium, such facets that would be needed when governing over such a wide array of regions and a large populace. Nevertheless, the Marathi had done so before, in a time when India was comparably populated, and they would do so again, with the same energy and prowess that their forefathers had before. When the call to independence had come, word had spread like wildfire throughout the lands of the subcontinent, there was an aspiring clan again, one that would lead the state out of the perpetual status quo it had been in for so many years. It was a promising glimmer that had brought many out into the streets in many cities, some proclaiming that Shivaji had returned, had embodied himself in the young man that bore his ancestral name. Prayers were said for good fortune in the coming years, for peace and prosperity as all began to lift their chins to the whispers coming from the winds of change in their world. Whilst many in the rest of the country celebrated and felt the air of jubilant fervor, these same feelings were much more subdued in the halls of the capital, where the heir apparent and his council were hard at work. Plans had to be made, policies had to be plotted and prioritized, much business had to be attended to, especially with the subcontinent being in a state of stagnation and self-perpetuating status-quo for so long. The men and women of the council would stay by the soon-to-be-crowned monarch late into the night over the first few nights after independence. They were faced with the daunting task of organizing and redeveloping the government and laying social policy that would shape the lives of over a billion people. So much had to be considered to be successful, but this was a reality that those who had taken up the call to leadership had considered before they even stepped out into the light. Santaji's coming had been in the cards for a number of years, it had taken much to consolidate his base of support, but now that he had it, he decisively was to wield it. The bid for independence, to gather the peoples of the subcontinent together, had worked, and it was with a sense of pride and diligence that he and his cohorts set forth to the task of organizing the country that would proudly bore the names of his ancestors. Furthermore, emissaries would be quickly dispatched around the world to begin establishing the basis of the Marathi diplomatic network, which would also help in the facilitation of international trade, an important aspect of growth that would be sorely needed in the coming years for the relatively stagnant economy...
21. Following the invitation by Tianxia to open foreign relations with Maratha, it was decided that given the proximity of both nations, and the need for peaceful coexistence, Santaji would dispatch a diplomatic delegation to accept the invitation. Led by the Maratha monarch's trusted cousin, Vijay Bhonsle, the mission to Nanjing would depart Pune in the early hours of the morning for the flight to Nanjing. Appropriate flight plans would be filed with the proper authorities, in both nations, and much of the flight, for the diplomats, was spent sleeping, as most had been up late discussing the meeting in detail with members of the High Council. It would be mid-morning when the flight made its approach to Nanjing, and the onboard passengers would be roused shortly before landing, affording them time to prepare, appearance wise, for the meeting with their counterparts.
22. For too long, history has left us behind, the once proud subcontinent has shown little activity beyond the status quo for many years, history has been waiting to be written. Let those books begin now, the Sons of Shivaji have returned, the claims of the past be the claims of our future. Let all in the subcontinent cast flowers in the streets, let all children taste the sweetness of future. It was our duty long ago to forge a nation state, a nation state that saw its share of victories and woe befall it, but let these notes of history be a lesson, not a disgrace. As Shivaji heroically and masterfully crafted the independence movement that would lay the foundations, the rock upon which our nation sits upon now. We have returned to lead once again, to let all in the subcontinent taste the sweetness of prosperity in fellowship, under the wise guidance of those who have proven themselves before. This is our declaration of independence, this is our cry into the night of darkness and that of the status quo, a light shall be forged for all, we shall hold that light, and guide those who have fallen astray. We will return warm pride to the hearts and the minds, rekindle the flame of independence, stand on guard for those who cannot. The people of India now rise again in bliss as saffron banners shall fly true again, over Pune, over Delhi, over Mumbai, over Dhaka, let all celebrate the coming of prosperity and order. The Maratha Empire rises again. Santaji Bhonsle Heir Apparent to the Throne of the Marathas
