This month we've had several changes to our government line-up. [center][u]Election Results[/u][/center] For Triumvir we had an extremely close race with Shadow Slayer coming ahead of im317 by a single vote. Shadow Slayer has been in RIA government and other alliance government many times over the years and we welcome his experience and loyalty. Some might say it will be difficult balancing the government when we have a Shadow and a Shadow Slayer on equal footing in the Triumvirate but I assure you we will make it work somehow. He has failed in slaying me for the last several years so don't expect much from him in that department. Triumvir: Shadow Slayer For the Cabinet we've also had several changes. For Head of Economics (HoE), cctmsp13 once again attempts to retire after being dragged out multiple times. He hopes to stay in his condo in Florida for at least 6 months this time before [s]being forcibly dragged back[/s] volunteering for the position once again. In his retirement he returns to being only our Viceroy instead of both Viceroy and Head of Economics. Replacing him his Ogaden who has been serving the RIA greatly since his retirement. We welcome him back to government and hope he can maintain his amazing efforts towards improving the RIA in government as he has outside of government in these last few months. Head of Economics: Ogaden For Head of Internal Affairs (HoIA) we welcome back Apophis775 to government after several years of retirement. We look forward to working him once again. Apophis775 previously served as Head of Military Operations of the RIA from October 1, 2008 to January 31, 2009 and Head of Internal Affairs from February 1, 2009 to March 22, 2009. Croix who previously had the position will be mentioned later in this announcement. Head of Internal Affairs: Apophis775 For Head of Military Operations (HoMO), Jenne was once again re-elected to the position. He has remained in the position since April of 2011. We all look forward to working with him some more. Head of Military Operations: Jenne For Head of Recruitment (HoR), Croix has decided to remain in government but has switched positions. Previously the RIA's Head of Internal Affairs, we welcome him to his new position as HoR and look forward to the new recruits he brings. Head of Recruitment: Croix For Captain Planet (CP), we welcome the legendary Moth to the position after defeating both sankX07 and SWAT128 in a three-way match. We look forward to his work in environmental cleanup and other Captain Planet related duties. Captain Planet: Moth For Head of Foreign Affairs (HoFA), we welcome back im317 who was nominated and appointed to the position a few minutes ago as Bluestrike, our previous Head of Foreign Affairs, decided to withdraw from the election and position several days ago and take a break from government. im317, instead of retiring after losing a very close race for Triumvir, has decided to accept the position and remain in government to continue to serve the RIA. We are happy about his choice and welcome him into the position with open arms. As information gets passed around, it gets twisted and spun by small degrees. Each person conveys it with their own emphasis, their own interpretations and colored by their own set of personal beliefs. It happens during war, peace, with friends, and with enemies. With every person it travels through, a little bit of truth is lost, until, by the time it reaches you, it's barely recognizable. The reason this is even possible is that, even amongst backchannels, there are rules. Query logs don't leave queries - at least the queries which matter. You don't log dump people who put their confidence in you, etc. But the reality is, the folks this serves best are those who lie best, or who know how to turn partial truths to their advantage. Because of this, we believe the best thing we can do is to be open with the truth, both the elements that are flattering, and those that aren't. The SuperFriends open this thread up to the public to ask about whatever they wish; backchannel rumors, war discussions, peace discussions, whatever. There's a lot of information out there about us; good and bad, true and false. Consider this thread an opportunity to find out what actually falls into each category. If it's something that involves our bloc, we'll provide logs and other evidence openly. If it's between us and others, we'll provide it where we can get permission, so as to not break the trust others have put in us. Bluestrike will be taking over for Leo as Head of Foreign Affairs. C-zom will be returning to RIA government and taking over for Croix as our new Head of Internal Affairs, and Shadow Slayer will be taking over for Mogar as Head of Recruitment. As for returning government members, Delta1212 will be returning for his eighth 6-month term as Triumvir. In the Cabinet, Jenne will be returning for his third 2-month term as Head of Military Operations, while cctmsp13 will be returning for his 17.75th Term as Head of Economics. The almighty Rainbow Sheep swept through the Captain Planet elections attaining an easy victory over his five challengers and Snowbound Milk, coming in second place, has been appointed his representative as Captain Planet as the Rainbow Sheep is too busy with his Sheeply duties to assume the difficult role of Captain Planet. Also in this election, long time RIAer aithne was nominated and elected as the RIA's new HotDoG or Head of the Department of Girls. Each Party agrees not to aim their nuclear weapons at each other, only at others. 2. Each Party agrees to share information, especially about threats to each other's nuclear stockpiles. 3. Each Party agrees not to share information, technology, or other aid with those who are threatening the nuclear stockpiles of the other. 4. Each Party agrees to share technology and aid, if requested, to further each other's nuclear proliferation goals. 5. The Parties agree to create a joint nuclear proliferation research center in Florida to research new ways to further their nuclear proliferation. 6. The Parties agree they always have the option to combine their nuclear stockpiles for use against a common target. This Treaty shall be subject to ratification in accordance with the constitutional procedures of each Party. This Treaty shall enter into force on the date of the exchange of instruments of ratification. Each Party may propose amendments to this Treaty. If either Party raises the issue of the modification of this Treaty, the Parties shall jointly consider the matter. Agreed amendments shall enter into force in accordance with the constitutional procedures of each Party. Each Party shall, in exercising its alliance sovereignty, have the right to withdraw from this Treaty if it decides that extraordinary events related to the subject matter of this Treaty have jeopardized its supreme interests. It shall give notice of its decision to the other Party. Such notice shall contain a statement of the extraordinary events the notifying Party regards as having jeopardized its supreme interests. A week or two ago cctmsp13, one of our longest reigning government members and most honored Head of Economics of the RIA announced his intention to retire. As can be seen on the massive RIA Government timeline below, he has been serving as our HoE for the last 18 consecutive months, overwhelmingly winning each election. He announced his intention to not re-run after a massive amount of funds magically disappeared from the RIA treasury but he gave the perfectly logical reasoning that a wild moose wandered in and ate the money. Luckily he will still be around as our Viceroy, appointed after the bloodless second phase of the RIA-RIA War (for more information click [url="http://cybernations.wikia.com/wiki/RIA-RIA_War"]here[/url]) several months ago. We would like to thank him for holding a position that long, for bringing many programs to the table during his terms, and for holding the RIA economy togther for so long. It all started when our (former porn) star, Death Metal Rooster, woke up in a haunted thicket. It was the first time it had happened. Feeling exceedingly concerned, Death Metal Rooster backhanded a potato, thinking it would make him feel better (but as usual, it did not). As if it really mattered he realized that his beloved bacon was missing! Immediately he called his favorite Mormon, (>‘.’)>. Death Metal Rooster had known (>‘.’)> for (plus or minus) 550,000 years, the majority of which were electric ones. (>‘.’)> was unique. He was ingenious though sometimes a little... selfish. Death Metal Rooster called him anyway, for the situation was urgent. (>‘.’)> picked up to a very sad Death Metal Rooster. (>‘.’)> calmly assured him that most Indonesian devil cats turn red before mating, yet South American hissing sloths usually surreptitiously shudder *after* mating. He had no idea what that meant; he was only concerned with distracting Death Metal Rooster. Why was (>‘.’)> trying to distract Death Metal Rooster? Because he had snuck out from Death Metal Rooster's with the bacon only eleven days prior. It was a flamboyant little bacon... how could he resist? It didn't take long before Death Metal Rooster got back to the subject at hand: his bacon. (>‘.’)> turned red. Reluctantly, (>‘.’)> invited him over, assuring him they'd find the bacon. Death Metal Rooster grabbed his whale and disembarked immediately. After hanging up the phone, (>‘.’)> realized that he was in trouble. He had to find a place to hide the bacon and he had to do it aggressively. He figured that if Death Metal Rooster took the tricked out go kart, he had take at least nine minutes before Death Metal Rooster would get there. But if he took the whale? Then (>‘.’)> would be alarmingly screwed. Before he could come up with any reasonable ideas, (>‘.’)> was interrupted by nine insensitive mongooses that were lured by his bacon. (>‘.’)> belched; 'Not again', he thought. Feeling worried, he aptly reached for his gerbil and carefully hit every last one of them. Apparently this was an adequate deterrent--the discouraged critters began to scurry back toward the swamp, squealing with discontent. He exhaled with relief. That's when he heard the whale rolling up. It was Death Metal Rooster. As he pulled up, he felt a sense of urgency. He had to make an unscheduled stop at Sears to pick up a 12-pack of gerbils, so he knew he was running late. With a careful leap, Death Metal Rooster was out of the whale and went scandalously jaunting toward (>‘.’)>'s front door. Meanwhile inside, (>‘.’)> was panicking. Not thinking, he tossed the bacon into a box of wolverines and then slid the box behind his hippopotamus. (>‘.’)> wasn't pleased but at least the bacon was concealed. The doorbell rang. 'Come in,' (>‘.’)> flamboyantly purred. With a calculated push, Death Metal Rooster opened the door. 'Sorry for being late, but I was being chased by some stupid jerk on a flying carpet,' he lied. 'It's fine,' (>‘.’)> assured him. Death Metal Rooster took a seat right next to where (>‘.’)> had hidden the bacon. (>‘.’)> grimaced trying unsuccessfully to hide his nervousness. The last thing he saw before losing consciousness was a buzzing horde of mongooses running off with his bacon. About seven hours later, Death Metal Rooster awoke, his legs throbbing. It was dark and Death Metal Rooster did not know where he was. Deep in the lonely swamp, Death Metal Rooster was very lost. A few unsatisfying minutes later, he remembered that his bacon was taken by the mongooses. But at that point, he was just thankful for his life. That's when, to his horror, a little mongoose emerged from the nearby pumpkin patch. It was the alpha mongoose. Death Metal Rooster opened his mouth to scream but was cut short when the mongoose sunk its teeth into Death Metal Rooster's prostate. With a faint groan, the life escaped from Death Metal Rooster's lungs. Less than four miles away, (>‘.’)> was entombed by anguish over the loss of the bacon. 'MY PRECIOUS!!' he cried, as he reached for a ripened avocado. As the room began to fade to black, he thought about Death Metal Rooster... wishing he had found the courage to tell him that he loved him. But he would die alone that day. All that remained was the bacon that had turned them against each other, ultimately causing their demise. And as the dew on the sapling branches began to reflect the dawn's reddish glare, all that could be heard was the chilling cry of distant mongooses, desecrating all things sacred to virtuous men, and perpetuating an evil that would reign for centuries to come. Thus, the mongooses lived happily forever after, the end.

The 57th Overlanders and the Random Insanity Alliance would like to announce a treaty revision and upgrade of our MDP to a non-chaining MDoAP. This is part of an ongoing treaty review by the 57th so expect more announcements from them in the coming days. In the spirit of mutual friendship, protection and converging interests, the 57th Overlanders (57th) and the Random Insanity Alliance (RIA), do hereby agree to this treaty of Mutual Defence and Optional Offense in good faith and fully aware of the obligations it puts on them to the other. Article I: Peaceful relations Everybody accepts and understands that this is really a goal rather than a state of affairs. We're cool with this.
