From the Inventors of Halo, A New and Innovative FPS

The title is correct. Bungie, the brilliant people who brought you Halo are bringing you a game called Destiny. Now a LOT of people are saying this will be like Halo and in some ways it will be. Yes, you will fight a alien race. Yes it is a inter gallactic war BUT in the case of Destiny, the game will have a unorthodox storyline, taking place over a ten year period.

Bungie also teamed up with the Creators of Call of Duty to make this title, and expect Destiny 2 within the next 2-5 years.

Check out the trailer and make sure to subscribe to the channel that did this.

First of all, Halo wasn't a very good game at all. The majority of the popularity from Halo stemmed from how connected it was to online play in Halo 2. Voice messages, private games with some customization (later expanded to Forge in Halo 3), and superior matchmaking. All of the features surrounding the game surpassed the norm at the time, while I found the game itself quite average.

Also, the trailer didn't really tell anything besides the typical spiel designed to excite with little actual substance. Meh, I'm keeping neutral until I actually see something. That was just 4 minutes of developers talking vaguely (as they usually do) about how revolutionary and uncharted their game is, and how they want their game to be fun (no duh). I almost never form my opinion on trailers anymore, it's just too misleading.

My depressing 2 cents :P

I kinda have to agree. Halo though is one of the greatest selling franchises of ALL TIME. Apparently Bungie knows something about making games.

i doubt it will be new or innovating. fps games have been pretty much done to death and back

No. It will be a semi open world game which involves a ever changing unplanned nature, meaning one time you play a mission, it may be a Blizzard and the next time it may rain or ice or be completely clear.

So, Bungie will be releasing Mass Effect 4?

Mass Effect had a semi-open world. The only gimmicks that seem new to me are the randomised weather patterns, but even that isn't that new when you compare it to the 'Director' system Valve came up with for Left 4 Dead. We'll see what it's like when it's released.

Are randomised weather patterns that big a deal? They've been in every racing game since forever, and countless other games.

Also HALO was a terrible game. It had good marketing and good multiplayer but actual gameplay was massively inferior to other games. It always bugged me that Battlefield 2 (set in 2010 I think) had more useable advanced technology than HALO. HALO consisted of everyday technology given a pretty skin.

Where are the distopian games about killing the human race? I don't want to be a human, I want to be a new species with like 7 arms blowing up civilians and just causing a ruckus with my mind.
