Subject: Your AID to an LSF Nation

Message: You are currently trying to send aid to a nation that belongs to an alliance that is at war with both Nordreich and the Independent Republic of Orange Nations.

Aiding a nation at war is, itself, an act of war. You may may wish to reconsider and cancel the aid offered.

If its an act of war, then declare war, and stop being such a whiny !@#$% already.

pretty much this, either go to war, or stop posturing, you're looking like INT right now, it's not a good look zog.

You represent your government. I do not. Neither do I have any input on policy.

So please, forgive me for expressing an opinion. I am truly, deeply sorry that it led you, the leader of a successful, growing and not-any-kind-of-running-joke-of-an-alliance, down the road of petty name-calling; opening yourself up to being exposed as one who, in their eagerness to fling an insult, can't be bothered to do even the tiniest bit of research.

I do hope you can find it in your heart to overlook this transgression.

If you name weren't synonymous with 'running joke' I might have put in the effort above.

Actually, there are a number of people from alliances across the CN treaty web who would say that if one is just finishing a tech deal from before a war was declared, the right and honorable thing for the nation to do is to finish it.

Truly providing war aid during a war is one thing, truly finishing off a tech deal is another. People get way too up tight about the second.

Also, you message could have been said a lot more diplomatically.

This is what I might have replied:

Subject: RE: Your AID to an LSF Nation

Message: I am neutral in this war. I made a tech deal with the LSF nation before either war was declared. You are correct that sending aid is considered an act of war. However, this is the completion of a deal and not "aid." If I refused to pay a debt I owe because you, an enemy of my buyer, happened to attack during the in between, the LSF nation could accuse me of taking your side. Thus, in order to maintain my neutrality I will complete this deal and not do any further with anyone on either side of this conflict until it is over.

Have a nice day........

So basically the blogs tab is going to be spammed out with instances of little zoggy whining.

Wonderful, I was hoping for something a hair more intellectual.

Shut up or put up, seriously.

Congratulations on remaining alive as an alliance, though. This can only be because the thought of having anything to do with your group provokes nausea among your enemies, which is the ideal defense for a skunk like yourself.

And no, I haven't forgotten how you responded to the brutal murder of a Nordreich member with a cheerleading-filled missive, so how about you do both of our warn levels a favor and stay out of this blog for good?

When this account was re-activated I found that yours was the only name blocked. Foolishly, I undid what should have remained in place. I'll fix that now.

Oh, and have a nice day.

To be honest, you try to hard. Like most other people, I've never found you witty, insightful, or knowledgable, so you really don't need to go to all the trouble to sound like it when responding to my comments.

Whatever my alliance may be, I can at least sleep at night knowing it's not populated with trash. Some people can sleep at night without knowing that.

White Chocolate isn't wrong: when a party you're in a deal with is involved in a war it isn't really easy to remain neutral whatever you do.

Unless you made it clear in advance that you will suspend any deal until hostilities are resolved, which is what all people should do IMHO (to save everyone's time - and blogs!)

When a grown-up goes to sleep at night he or she doesn't think about CN at all.

Oh, you mean that Neo-Nazi guy? Yeah. I have no tolerance for intolerance.

Also yes, my alliance is based on ponies. Bright pastel colored ponies. And I wouldn't have it any other way.

White Chocolate that is incorrect. The SOP for sending aid to a clearly losing alliance in a lopsided war is to wait until after the war.

No, I'm right. The point for the tech seller is to be totally neutral in the matter.

IF a tech seller who has already been paid 3 million for X amount of tech BEFORE a war starts owes "person A" tech and he or she does not provide the tech to "person A" just because "person B" whose alliance attacked "person A's" alliance in the in-between writes a note saying "stop payment of tech to person A", then IF the tech seller does what "person B" wants, by that action OF FOLLOWING THE DIRICTIONS OF person B (as opposed to the deal made with person A), even though the tech seller truly owes tech to person A, the tech seller IS taking a side in the conflict - the side of "person B". That is NOT being neutral.

IF person A sends a note telling tech seller to hold on to the tech until after the war (which he or she may because it's likely to get lost in a nuke attack anyway) that's different because it's the buyer telling the seller when he or she wants his or her shipment.

thus, in the interest of being neutral in conflicts - all tech sales started before a war breaks out should be completed by the sellers unless the buyer states otherwise.

What person B's alliance should do is send threatening notes to members of person A's alliance threatening a longer war or higher reps or something like that if they take tech during the war. Neither alliance should tell the tech sellers what to do. It's between the seller and the buyer.
