Who would win?

I always love it when two alliances are so close to each other statistically - not only in terms of score, but also in terms of nations. These two are virtually tied in terms average NS, but who would come out on top in a one-on-one fight to the death? No allies, no peace treaties, just a battle of wits and nukes. Let me know what you think.

Who is Cult of Justitia

We both knew better. I have rearranged your post to organize it by topic. You made some rather dashing personal attacks, but you can't demonstrate them and they don't merit response. But this is the part of your post that I most wanted to address. I myself am always amused by the people who level attacks that boil down to Schattenmann is a lunatic has-been who is sad, and Cult of Justitia is a bunch of idiots that Schattenmann has hoodwinked into worshiping him. The insult is oxymoronic to

Good Clippers

So I've been blessed with my grandfather's hair, which basically means I've got a receeding hairline that has developed pretty steadily since 18-19. Soon to be 23, hair is still fine short, but I've seen my fellow comrades in arms struggle with keeping a respectable appearance and I'll look better with a shaved head anyway. I'm thinking of going with the lowest setting on clippers. However, I need to find a good set to invest in. Any tips?

Ad Hominem

I'm a busy man, so this will be a short one. Comment if you require elaboration. An argumentum ad hominem, to borrow from wikipedia, "is an attempt to negate the truth of a claim by pointing out a negative characteristic or belief of the person supporting it." The specific data point people need to take from this is that an insult is not by default an ad hominem. Also something I want to try to mention every time I bring up fallacies: if an argument contains a fallacy, it is not by default wr

I Suck At Geography

So today I realized I only know the geography of North America and Europe and then the rest of the world never seemed to matter. I'm fourteen, almost fifteen, and I am officially feeling like such an idiot for not having taken the time to learn it before. (Thanks, Centurius.) I've spent most of my life focused on English, so I've never had to glance at a map much, and my history classes up until now have been American History only, pretty much. I'm in my first Geography class ever, and I'm do

The Problem with wars in cybernations according to Kaskus

Cybernation Wars. Why are they so big? Well what we have is The Aggressor Attacking the Defender. Then there allies come in, then more allies of allies and so on, which ends up with alliances who are fighting and alliance they dont need to be fighting. We didnt attack the people who attacked menotah because we were weak, it was because the fight was for NpO, not Menotah. We fight for our friends, not for our friends, friends friends. If this was the way it was in the current climate we would

Cybernation's Next Top Pip-Maker

Deinos > Polar So anyway, we are now accepted submissions for a CN Forums Sanctioned Pip. We have no specific requests for it, but keep in mind our colour is blue, and our theme is dinosaurs in general, but Dinosaur Comics in particular. Size limit is 150x48. Keep in mind that the background of the OWF isn't white, so any background space on the pip should be transparent, not white. Submissions would be appreciated particularly within the next five days or so, so that we have time to selec

Strange Smells And Noises

There is a place in my house, if I am sitting just right for a few minutes, where there is an overwhelming smell of my grandmother’s condo in Martinez. It is a comforting smell, almost like Barbara is watching over me. I don’t have anything of hers that has retained the smell of her house, and the room in which I smell it has none of her items at all. There are also odd sounds in the middle of the night. I live in a mobile home, so it’s not the house “settling” like it would be in a stick-built

Waiting for CK

The TESV-Skyrim player community has been awesome so far in terms of coming out with mods. The Creation kit that was scheduled for a January release is still slated for a January release, however with just 5 days left in January, seems to be likely to have a launch schedule slip. While the game itself is pretty awesome out of the box, and most would most likely not miss the various mods that are up for grabs right now at the nexus, those that get the mods are spared situations like the one dep

Three things...

...that are quite hard for me to admit: Hang with me here. If you're not in the mood for something like this, please, discontinue reading. 1. I am a categorical 'saver'. This is a great frustration not only to me, but to most of the people I confide in. 2. Road trips, moving, and traveling are my way of trying to escape situations in life that I feel I can't handle. 3. People have taken advantage of me, and I can't hate them for it. Hating them would mean acknowledging that something terrib

Chicken Of The Sea

Don't know if anyone has been following developments of the Costa Concordia story. In a world where everyone gets a trophy just for showing up and sensitivity for "feelings" trumps buckling down and getting the job done, no matter how unpleasant; Italian Coast Guard Captain Gregorio De Falco (great name!) rightfully busted a cap on Francesco Schettino, the putative captin of the Concordia. The insanity within.

Anya and I, with our two children, live outside a large city in the Southeastern U.S. Like many, we moved from the midtown area when crime was rising and moved to a small town outside the city, about 30 minutes away. This small town is at the crossroads between a large city and a rural countryside that extends for hundreds of miles. Unfortunately we have to move again for occupational reasons (getting transferred); our eventual resting place will be 1500 miles away. Therefore we had to necessita

I hate you, Anonymous

And I hate your childlike, naive, knee-jerk response to the world around you. Yesterday, on Wednesday, the Internet stood up as a unified whole to deliver with authority the message that PIPA and SOPA must be stopped. The Internet dealt a strong blow in our favor, towards the defense of free speech. Our voices were heard, our voices shook the earth, and even before the bills have a chance to enter debate, we are already seeing a positive impact of our protest. The next day, today, the DoJ we

Two Reasons NPO Is Being Too Nice

There's two very surprising things that have been aired to the public in Brehon's thread. First, and the main point of discussion within that thread, is that alliances now think it acceptable to refuse a no-punitive-terms peace agreement, and think that they have the right to a white peace on their own terms and at their convenience. The second, which I'd like to explore briefly here, is that the NPO has offered such a termless peace in the first place. There are two important precedents which
